Who: Zelda, Maxwell. ALSO ON THE INVITE LIST: Jeff, Tony, Lash, Vashta, Meta Knight. Feel free to join in or not join in!
What: A very Maxy Birfday Party
When: Saturday, February 27th.
Where: A little tea shop downtown.
Rating: Everyone is prim and proper here. Except Lash. So.
Better late than never.
Zelda was usually pretty good about keeping track of birthdays, but she'd been busier than usual, and although she'd made note of the date, she didn't have time to actually do anything about it until now.
It was no secret that she loved the teaching assistant staff, and seeing as she was Maxwell's resident assistant counterpart, the least she could do was arrange some sort of birthday get-together. It really was the least she could do.
He may have thought it was trouble, but it certainly wasn't. She'd sent out invitations the day before--to his friends from Snow Wood, to Lash, at his request, and to the other TAs. Whether they'd choose to attend was yet to be seen, but at the very least, she'd have a nice afternoon with the birthday boy and tea.
And tiny little sandwiches.

But that thought didn't stop him from grinning from ear to ear as he looked around the tiny tea shop.
Oh goodness where those tiny little sandwiches.
"Oh goodnes, tiny little sandwiches~!"

fagtrio to be celebrating this day. Come to think of it, hadn't they missed last year's due to alien invasions? Hopefully this one more than made up for it.Tiny sandwiches were enough to make up for anything. But they made Jeff very self-conscious of his school uniform.
"Even the sandwiches look better-dressed than I do..."

Zelda didn't know Jeff and Tony well, but she knew they had gone to school with Maxwell and she was more than happy to invite them along. It was Maxwell's birthday after all, and though more often than not it was awkward mixing social groups, she was sure today would be just fine. She...didn't really expect Vashta to accept the invitation anyway, not in the state she seemed to be in.
"This place is relatively casual, I promise."

Actually, why was she hesitating? She had kicked Maxwell in the nuts and gotten Lucas to talk with Jeff. Sounding threatening when talking to them in their journals. They probably already both hated her! Maybe Zelda had sent the invitation thinking everything was all happy-go-lucky between them. She'd just have to waltz in, call them nerds and they'd tell her to go away and leave them alone, which she would GLADLY COMPLY, thank-you-very-much.
That did it. With a push, she walked...oh wait right.. with a pull, she walked and opened the door, the belling ringing. Sporting a frown and determined face, her steps lacked any social grace. She went over to their table and crossed her arms before speaking.
"..." Before speaking. "...So nice of you to invite me."

So Lash received a warm smile as she approached the table, even if she looked less than pleased about being there. He was surprised that she had decided to come at all. "Oh, good! I was hoping you'd decide to come."
This tea party could only go in wonderful directions, surely. ... Surely.

Until she was proven otherwise, of course.
"I'm glad you could make it."

"Those are very tiny. And lacking a crust."
Her mind was blown.

He gave a small albeit uneasy wave and took a seat for himself on one side of Lash... he wasn't sure if she'd be ready to sit next to either Maxwell or Tony at this point.
Oh, right, he should probably say something. Something to break his own tension.
"I think tiny sandwiches like these are usually full of mayo."
Yeah. That was a real ice-breaker there.

"Uhhh...I guess?" She tentatively took a sandwich with just two fingers, like it was going to bite her back. "Apart from the sauce, what else is in there?"

Watching Lash stare at the tiny sandwiches with mild terror made something dawn on her--a horrible terrible social faux pas for which she would never forgive herself. "Ah, I'm sorry. You're not allergic, are you?"

She put the sandwich in her plate before looking at the others, taking a pink-colored one and sniffing it curiously. Yeeeah, she was still pretty bad with manners.
"Guess this one is made with ham." Into her mouth it went. She was such a shining example of a guest at a tea party, let me tell you.
