Welcome to the wild world of plants!

Who: You! … Or just whoever wants to have botany |D
What: The class of sweet sweet plant loving. Botany!
Where: The Greenhouse.
When: January 20th, afternoon.
Warnings: Don't make Erika have to smack a bitch B|

For the interested students or faculty that may have missed the memo, there was a small sign attached to outside of the door leading to the classroom that would have normally housed the botany class.

"Please report to the green
house for class. Thank you.
-Erika

While the snow outside had recently been showing small signs of starting to melt away, it was still quite prevalent. The cold weather season was not yet over, and it made this fact perfectly clear with a chilly wind. Upon entering the greenhouse, attendees would notice that someone had been prepared with those thoughts in mind. Space had been made for all of the extra coats and odds and ends that the students might have been wearing. The benefits of leaving their extra apparel behind would soon be evident-- the warmth in the green house was thriving.

Frequent visitors to the glass building might have noticed that there were some new additions. Those fairly new to the building might just be bowled over by the amount of greenery there really was. It was like a small jungle. It was dangerously easy here to forget that just beyond the thin panes of glass it was still a very snowy, January day.

And there was Erika, sitting on a small cushion amongst the plants. More cushions had been arranged around her. She smiled in turn at each student who came through the door and nodded for them to take a seat at which ever seat they wanted.

"Good afternoon," she greeted once it seemed that most everyone was there. "I hope you've all kept warm… Welcome to botany. The world of flora is often an under-appreciated one in today's society. It is my hope that you will be able to leave this class at the end of term with a better appreciation for it, even if you may already have a high one."

Erika turned, nodding to the tiny, girl-like flower that had been sitting besides her. The pokemon cheerfully went from student to student and handed them a sheet of paper as Erika continued speaking, "Today we will just be an introduction to your learning space. I'm curious to see what you would like to see this semester…"

"Please feel free to explore the green house," were the beginning of Erika's instructions as she motioned towards the wealth of plants around her.

"It is much larger than it appears, I assure you. The students who put it together did a wonderful job. If you're here, you have my commendations… Ah, but I am getting distracted. If there is something that catches your eye, write it down on the sheet provided to you. This is your chance to tell me what you are most interested in learning. I will be coming around if you have any questions."

Brendan didn't have a jungle in his mind when he read "Botany class"... But then again, the jungle would be the best place to find different kind of plants. But this jungle was... a little different. Brendan pictured a jungle to be filled with different exotic plants, but he found a few species that looked familiar.

He walked around the room, careful not to step into anything messy. Or at least try to.

While Fox's main focus was on combat ships and weaponry, he couldn't deny that he had an interest in plants. His home planet Corneria always held nature in high regard and respected it, building structures in such a way to protect and prevent damage to the natural foliage. This kind of mindset had been instilled in Fox as he grew up, though once he made it into the Cornerian Flight Academy his focus narrowed down to nothing but learning to fly. Now he had a chance to explore that old interest.

The greenhouse did make Fox feel a bit at home, though Corneria was never this dense. This was definitely a jungle. And with the widest range of flora he'd ever seen. There were gardens in Corneria that specialized in exotic species from different systems, but this was incredible. He could feel that child-like fascination building up in him. Needless to say, he spent a good deal of time going through the greenhouse. One plant in particular caught his eye, or rather, nearly caught his tail as he was passing. It was big, red with white polka dots, and had teeth. Now that's one hell of a plant. Fox made a note of it and went to find Erika to ask her about what it was.

Jake walked around the greenhouse, music blaring in his ears. It was such a peaceful day...

At least until the red polka-dotted plants with teeth tried to bite him as he passed.

Jake jerked back as the plants tried to bite the air where he once stood. They definitely looked hungry and grumpy. "Bad mood, huh bras?" Jake asked, as if the sight of plants with teeth wasn't an unusual sight. "Don't worry, I've got just the thing for ya!"

He pulled off his headphones and adjusted the speakers to point at the plants. He checked his MP3 player for a particularly upbeat song, cranked up the volume, and started to play for them.

And then this happened:

Luigi looked around the greenhouse, immediately getting lost. He wandered around, looking at the beautiful flowers, and avoiding the Piranha Plants and other dangerous-looking plants. He was particularly interested in a large, bell-shaped plant (http://www.mariowiki.com/Bellbell_Plant).

Luigi reached out and poked the flower, then let out a gasp as it softly chimed.

Lash did not enjoy being in the green house for various reasons that included a mouse hitting her with ice. Why WAS she in this class anyway? Oh yeah, she had plants in her room.

"Do they have piranha plants in here?"

Good think the greenhouse was made for ten feet tall Pokemon, as Arceus moved around the greenhouse. How odd, that some of the plants seemed to bloom as she passed by.

Mac had never been in the greenhouse. He didn't know much about plants, either. Actually hardly anything. He kinda looking around at all of the plants the greenhouse had. Pretty much taking in the scenery.

Hojita explored the greenhouse a lot on a regular basis, so this place was really nothing new to her. She passed by the flourishing plants that dotted the area, those of which surrounded her in many beautiful flowers and leaves.

Of course, there were also some berry trees around, the very same ones that she learned how to plant, thanks to Red. They really did remind her of him, and she always missed him dearly.

"Can I eat a berry?!" One of the pecha berries looked particularly ripened today, ready to pick, and she WAS a little hungry.

Misty honestly wasn't very into plants except for Lotad's line. She was more of a water girl, and while she knew plants needed water to survive, they didn't really interest her far too much.

However, she did stand around near a small grove of plants in the corner of the greenhouse, watching and lurking like the curious teacher she was. Besides, she WAS curious about how Erika would handle this anyway, not that she doubted her skill.

Ponyta skipped happily through the doors of the greenhouse. Her eyes widened in excitement. Never before had she ever seen so many plants in one building. She loved running through the forest and being surrounded by the trees by SBG, but the greenhouse totally took the cake. The most of nature that Ponyta had ever seen was the small garden and grassy plains of her day care center back in Kanto. Not wanting to stand still any longer, Ponyta ventured around and wondered what everything would look and smell like.

"Hmm... plants with teeth? I wonder if that would look like a Victreebel?" Ponyta mumbled to herself and went in search for the 'plants with teeth'. She quickly spotted what she figured was mentioned: a fairly large red plant dotted with white bearing sharp teeth. Approaching the plant to get a closer look at it, Ponyta oohed. Curiosity overcame her as she wondered just how sharp those teeth were. Thus, she innocently stretched out an arm believing that the plant wouldn't bite her.

CHOMP

...

..........!!! ;A;

"KYAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" Ponyta screamed while flailing her free arm. Her other arm was held hostage within the mouth of the evil plant which seemed to jeer at her. She wanted to use her tail to burn it, but refrained from doing so as she did not want to end up burning the entire greenhouse down. "M-M-MISS ERIKAAAAAAA. WHAT DO I DOOOOOO?!?!"

Apple Kid is here. He's looking at a rock. A rock covered in lichen.

Well, that counts, I suppose.

Plants were something that Watt was interested in, but had little knowledge about. She had seen some variety of plants during her adventure with Mario those years ago, but she still wondered what other kind of plants were around. She hovered around the edge of the greenhouse, careful not to get near any of the plants that she knew were bad news until she stopped next to some daisies.

"Ooh, these look like Crazy Dayzees! Wait...are there any of those here?" She started to look around again, though this time in search of the singing flowers.

Poo was quite enthralled to be in the greenhouse, finding peace and tranquility in the silent plant life that surrounded. Well... most of the planets were silent. You know, the ones that weren't singing or part pokemon or trying to nip at his heels.

He seemed to be taking great interest in the bamboo plants.

Ever since Erika mentioned liking plants, Thad has been looking forward to this class. Now he can try to name all the plants he sees! And he's doing well with that too! Except...

Once he passed a big, red plant with animal like teeth. He just stares at it.

Ivan was quite interested in this class. He always admired plants but there weren't many around where he was from besides grass and wild flowers and humans that had been turned into trees.

He was particularly enamored by a familiar small plant. The buds were small and blue (http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/goldensun/images/e/e5/Antidote.gif") just liked Ivan remembered, and he was curious how they had gotten here.

Anshu sped-walked into the green house, barely making it to Erika's class introduction. The slippery, icy conditions of the outside world weren't agreeable with her and it was obvious: her palms and bare knees were lightly scraped and her fingers were puffy and red with cold. It was miserable out there.

The green house reflected an almost immediate change in her person. As she walked in, she had an almost sickly pale color painted on her face, but once she sat down, a fleshy tone arose and brightened up her appearance. So was the wonders of a warm environment on the sunny Solrock who seemed to work so well in the green house.

Once the students were dismissed to examine things, Anshu didn't know where to start. She looked at tall plants. She looked at teeny tiny plants. She even looked at feral plants (that, luckily, didn't snap at her.) Her problem was this: she knew the name of the sunflowers and the roses. That was it. Everything else had her stumped.

Knuckles already spent a fair bit of time in here - he'd helped build it and had planted a great deal of the plants inside, after all, so, exploring for him consisted more of taking a little extra time to remove a few dead leaves from some of his favorite plants.

Brendan quickly scribbled something on the handout he received. What he wrote was pretty much a mesh of lines and curves, but it supposedly said:

"Your Name: Brendan Birch
Your Favorite Plant: No preference
What do you expect to learn in this class?: Learn about plants.((Adhur smart answer, Brendan))
What would you like to learn in this class?: About plants? Maybe how to grow them to look pretty."

...If anyone could read it, that is.
