Who: Knuckles and assorted friends take a short vacation. (Even if you didn't reply to his initial entry about it, feel free to come along.)
What: Hanging out on Angel Island for the weekend.
Where: Angel Island. Yep. Bet you didn't see that one coming.
When: Late afternoon on Friday through to Sunday morning. (Backdate land aaa sorry I had work.)
Warnings: WHO KNOWS!?

Photobucket

It had been something more of an open invitation this time, so, the group was a little different than his last trip to Angel Island with friends. Actually, most of the people who went the first time were no longer at school. Big, Bark, Katrina, Fawful, Blaze, Marine, Siren. It was a little sad to think of the fun time they had had a little over a year ago, being they were all gone now. Still - This weekend would make up a brand new crop of memories.

It wasn't too long of a trip once you got out of the harbor. He'd made sure to set her down close by the shoreline when he'd parked his small continent in the sea.

The ferry he'd rented pulled up at the beach and the dock he and Bark had quickly constructed out of logs and rope last year in anticipation of the first group trip. Some people were probably going to bring thier own transport over and that was fine. It wasn't exactly a hard place to find, after all.

((OOC: So people seemed pretty happy with the idea of doing some sprite pictures like the last one. If your character already has some sprite sheets, feel free to use those. If not, I've made a couple for a couple people and I'll try doing more. XD Otherwise, if you want to do regular pictures or photoshops or what have you, those are more than fine too. Or, if you don't want to do anything, that's cool too! It's not like it's mandatory bra. XD Just have fun. Use other characters sprites in your stuff, but try keep everything IC.

So, P. much I'll post up some locations and you guys can start threads for your dudes wherever you like and other people can join in. If you have never played Sonic 3 and Knuckles, you could check out this video here. It's a little over a half hour long but it has the entire game. XD If anyone wants to see any other environemnts from the games here, let me know and I'll make them! ))

Pit stood atop a hill with a low slope that sneaked down and ran into water. The pool below was speckled with Chao, and they seemed like such carefree creatures to the young angel. They made him smile and he hadn't even acquainted himself with one yet. Truthfully, he was a little shy.

He'd heard about them from Knuckles that day and longed to meet one; finally, his opportunity gleamed. They looked almost identical to how he pictured them in his head. Sweet little inhabitants of this island. Really cute, too. Could they transform into him? If he was fit enough to, could he turn them into angelic figures? Pit wondered if Knuckles was closeby.

Well now! Pit hadn't noticed any Chao with sharp teeth. How bizarre. Even then, he wanted to assure Knuckles that he wasn't scared of them like he had been with Harley. These guys were nothing troublesome at all. "Are you sure I won't disrupt them?" he asked. "Part of me is worried I'll make them run away or something, as stupid as that sounds."

An inundation of delight surged through Pit as the pudding-shaped creature was presented to him. He hesitated, as though this was a delicate moment, then gingerly took the Chao from Knuckles and smiled in warm spirit. It was really cute and so delightful. His hold on the Chao grew more secure and relaxed as he brought it closer.

"Hi. My name is Pit," he told the Chao. "It's nice to meet you."

The idea that they were all curious about him sent interesting shivers over his nerves as his eyes flew from Chao to Chao. The signals on their head were so peculiar! Most of the time they were round periods, but a few of them morphed into question marks just like the one in his arms did. Exclamation marks too? It must be an indicator for their feelings. Pit blushed slightly and looked back down at his new friend.

"Imagine that!" he remarked with a tiny laugh. "Do you think I'm interesting?"

"I..." Speechless. He couldn't believe it. He really could make them transform. Pit noticed the small fluctuation of pigment alteration and stared at it like the sky was sprouting a beautiful rainbow. His mouth hung open and he was torn between disbelief and sheer joy.

At the mention of fruit, Pit took to scanning the grass for some of them. His feet carried him away from the crowd- he was careful to avoid stepping on any. They seemed to want to follow him, mostly out of lingering inquisitiveness.

Nestled by a rock, Pit spotted a citrus fruit that shared appearances with a grapefruit. Piqued by this attractive object, the angel sped up a little to scoop it up, carefully balancing the Chao in his arms as he did so. With a bright new smile, he pitched it into his palm and proudly showed it to Knuckles. "Like this?"

"Oh! That makes sense." He knelt to the ground and allowed the Chao to perch on his bent knee as his fingers got to work breaking the tough fruit shell. The similar blue creatures encircled the angel, heavily occupied by gawking at his simple procedures. The task proved slightly difficult, but by cramming his fingernails and digging at the peel, it quit clinging to the juicy treasure inside. He wondered how the Chao liked eating this fruit and he looked at it, turned it around like it was a miniature puzzle.

He showed it to the Chao, embarrassed. "Would you like me to feed you a bite? Or can you take care of the rest yourself?"

Pit laughed alongside Knuckles, charmed by the Chao's voracious appetite and overall cuteness. "That's good! I hoped you would like it." He prodded the creature on the head as a display of affection as he ate.

...And then he felt guilty about the rest of the Chao. They probably wanted food too, right? Attention? He tried smiling at them all to show that he acknowledged them still.

Pit's eyes grew wide at that prospect. "Wait. You mean I can... take one home? Wouldn't they miss their friends?" The angel entertained the idea of keeping a pet for a while, now. But it was such a responsibility! It almost seemed too good to be true.

He contemplated this for a moment. If the Chao never knew any other Chao before and the first person he saw was Pit, that would mean he wouldn't be stealing satisfaction with a lifestyle the Chao already knew. If someone were to capture him and keep him selfishly caged up away from his home in the sky, there was no way he could ever be happy. The idea of hatching a baby Chao was just too delightful. It became incredibly difficult to resist bringing one home.

But then, another issue snapped the track of his thoughts in half. "What about its parents? Don't Chao have parents? Wouldn't that be egg stealing?"

The uncertain feeling was alleviated. His lips expanded in a smile.

"...I can really take one with me?" Yet, he still couldn't believe it!

Pit's exhilaration gushed out like a broken dam. Elatedly his wings flashed out and he sprung to action, ready to follow Knuckles on their way to find a Chao egg. Face animated by happiness, he said, "I've never watched anything hatch before my own eyes! Ever! This is going to be great!" The angel was bouncing in place.

The mere sight of the egg sent Pit back into his breathless awe. He looked to Knuckles, first, then carefully bent down to scoop up the egg, handling it as charily as if he were trying to maintain a pine needle on his fingertip. This was so fantastic... He couldn't blame anybody for being this excited.

"Thank you, Knuckles." His smile could light up a whole town. "I'll take the best care of it." After a pause, questions about the care of Chaos wriggled into his mind one by one. "How do... I mean, what can I feed it? Do they have basic needs? It probably need to sleep, I know that... they seem pretty playful, and obviously they have to have food and water. How long do they live?" So many questions, but Pit wanted to make absolute sure he gave this Chao precisely what it needed.
