Open Log: Now with 97% more molting!

Characters: Pit, anyone
What: Pit is undergoing extreme *~bodily changes~* ~~like puberty or menstruation~~ and is losing feathers like pocket change in a holy pocket.
Where: Up to you!
When: From Saturday, September 19th to Saturday, September 26.
Warnings: PINFEATHERS. 8C Self-conscious angels? Gdit. ~~Not that he isn't going through perpetual molt already.~~

Basically, this is just a log where you can bump into Pit. Anywhere, anytime, anyone. Extra emphasis on ANYONE. You can find him in his room, you can meet him on the roof, down the halls, in between classes, in the courtyard, the common room, training at the stadium... anywhere! Just write in a date, time, and location. I will even wedge in a few starting threads to make it easier on those who can't think of a place/situation to interact with him. I should also mention that the further into the week you go, the worse his molt is. But I mean it: any excuse is good! I love tagging you guys, okay? 8C

"That sound... is that Fluffy?" he inquired, dreadfully curious about the giant bird and its eerie sounds. What were those words Midna cried just now? Just how big was the black fowl? He did even more looking around, investigating the skies for wings.

A "hee hee" was the only response Pit got before the low, dreadful honk got even louder.

A large black shape rose up from the side of the roof. The kargarok swept towards them on its beastly raggedy wings, looking every bit as intimidating as a huge monster bird should. It was coming in for a landing fast! The bird touched down just a few feet away from Pit, swinging it's bizarre head to look at him. Which is what Fluffy was doing, despite appearances.

Midna waved between the monster bird and angel boy. "Pit, Fluffy. Fluffy, Pit." She continued to say something else to Fluffy, but it was in that babbley language again. Whatever she was saying, it was making the bird make a happy crooning noise.

Pit opened his mouth to scream when it alighted, but dry silence was the only product of his vocal chords. He backed up a few steps and a tiny noise crept out, a noise of surprise that barely scratched the volume of a mouse. He stared at the beast (how many monster birds is he going to meet this week?) with wide eyes. The angel didn't know what to think except that he was quite terrified deep down inside. He wasn't prepared to fight monsters right now!

...But she was Midna's pet. That meant he should at least calm down. He attempted to cool off and swallow the dryness in his throat. "Fluffy? This is Fluffy? She... she's not like any bird I've ever seen!" It was the most demonic avian creature he'd ever been in contact with. Where was its head? Why did it make the noises he heard only in nightmares? He swore he met it before underground or something.

Midna had gotten very used to the plethora of negative reactions that people have had to Fluffy over the year that the bird had been alive. Repulsion, confusion, feelings of terror... Midna could only imagine what was going through Pit's head. She gave his hair a little pat of encouragement.

"Eee hee, that doesn't surprise me!" Fluffy tilted her head, trying to snuffle at Pit's hair. Midna pushed her away, feeling that the angel wasn't quite ready for that sort of contact yet, despite the orange hand that was gently pressing against his back to keep him there. "Twilight Kargaroks are native to the Twilight Realm, you see. Her egg got illegally smuggled over the borders some time last year... Luckily it found its way to a Twili during a school assignment."

He tried to repeat the name of her species. "Kar...garok? Why doesn't she have a head?" He peered into the deep void that served as her face.

"She does have a head, it's right there."

Oh. Okay. Whatever you say, Midna.

Pit ogled a bit more at the Kargarok. He didn't dare get close yet, but there was running away allowed, no way. That would be an embarrassing shame both to him and Palutena. "She sure is... interesting. What does she eat?"

"Hmmm... A little of everything, I guess. Rodents, birds, I think Cane tried to give her chex mix a few times... A few students here or there... She does seem fond of cantaloupe, oddly enough."

While Midna was trying to navigate Fluffy's unusual diet, the bird had tried to inch a little closer to Pit. She crooned at him again, her tail slowly wagging from side to side as she cocked her head and... Was she imitating a canine?

Some of the tidbits of information Midna had to share about Fluffy's diet shook him for a few yards. Students? She preyed upon students? All of a sudden, Pit felt like flying away (not that he could pull that off very well at the moment), but he resisted. If things got sticky, then he might think about splitting this place. No weapons equaled no room for proper defense.

His body stiffened as the Kargarok pushed closer. Please don't eat me.

Perhaps telling him that Fluffy ate kids was a idea. Midna pondered it a bit as Fluffy continued to try and get closer to the boy (she thought she was being very sneaky). As it became more increasingly obvious that the angel was growing more and more nervous, Midna patted him gently on the top of his head.

"Hee, one of those things was a lie, and it wasn't the chex mix~"

... Oh yes that was extremely comforting, good job Midna.

A bit of mental processing later, and Pit relaxed ever so slightly. Okay, so Midna was just joking. What a relief. Fluffy sure looked like she could chomp on children- or, well, suck them up into the pulsating void that was supposed to be her head. Both were equally disturbing images.

"Oh... alright. No students. That's good. I was starting to get a little worried there." He smiled weakly.

Midna smirked down at him. "I noticed." The imp picked herself up and took a tiny jump off of Pit's head, floating over to sit on Fluffy's instead. Maybe the kid would calm down a little more this way. "It's probably best you weren't here earlier in the year, hehe. There was a whole flock of them here!"

A whole flock? Now that would be something to see. "Well... so far she seems friendly. She hasn't attacked me yet. And if I'm not mistaken..." He looked her over once more. "Was she wiggling? Is she excited to see me?"

"Were you expecting her to attack you?" Midna stroked her chin a bit. "Now that she knows you, she might later... I wouldn't worry about it though, unless you consider tag or fetch to be a horribly dangerous activity."

Thump thump thump went Fluffy's tail as the two talked.

"Eee hee hee, you're very perceptive, Feathers. She... ah... she's picked up quite a few puppy traits."

Now that Midna mentioned it, the body language portrayed by Fluffy was certainly reminiscent of canine character. Her tail bred the most indication as it pounded the ground in excitement.

"So she has! I guess it was... nice meeting you then, Fluffy." He wondered if he should attempt to pet the creature. The idea was still demeaning, especially since Midna liked to tease about the headless bird's tendencies. Even if in play, this Kargarok would be a roughhouser. There would be no playing tag with Fluffy anytime soon, that was for sure.

Fluffy crooned a pleasantly happy croon. The angel boy had addressed her! Did that mean it was time for scritches and scratches? She very much hoped so. So much so that she leaned in expectantly.

The imp on Fluffy's head giggled and motioned towards Pit for his attention. She pantomimed scratching the bird's "chin" as a clue for what it was the giant beast was expecting out of him.

Time to face the music. Pit swallowed back any of the insecurities that beat across his mind and tentatively approached a cautious step at a time.

"Here, Fluffy..." his quiet voice assured. "I'm... Pit. I'm your... friend."
His hand extended slowly, slowly... time breathed in slow motion for him.

Fluffy snorted his hair.

His face crinkled a little at the passing noise. Pit's fingers touched with the bottom of Fluffy's chin. Shyly he stroked in a way he hoped Fluffy would like.

Oh yes. Yes, that was a way that Fluffy liked. The creepy looking bird of possible death and destruction turned her head, lifting up and leaning in towards the strokes. Her tail was thumping heavily onto the ground while her butt (or what she had of a butt) did some sort of happy dance. Oh she did so love scritches and scratches.

Midna was laughing. "Eee hee hee~ Good job, Feathers!"

A warm smile dawned upon Pit's face. He was beginning to like Fluffy. For being a tyrannical bird with an ambiguous face, she wasn't half bad. His scratches took on more deliberate strokes and he couldn't hold back a laugh or two at her awkward antics.
