Of course he had.

Mario and Sonic were alike in many ways - they have saved kingdoms numerous times, they had been in horrible games, Sonic more than Mario, had their arch-nemesis, and liked to go off on adventure. It was just a mystery why they hadn't sparred properly in the school before. Thankfully today would fix all of that, and the Hedgehog couldn't help but feel extremely excited and anxious about the battle.

This was going to be the stuff of legends. Mario was one of the only people Sonic would willingly call a worthy rival. There would only be a few things to pick - what stages they were going to fight, were they going to go based on time or lives, and most importantly, if the loser would buy the other lunch.

So he waited. Sonic was an impatient man, but today it just seemed like every second felt like an hour.
