[Open Log] Cherry Blossoms, Cherry Blossoms
Who: You!
What: Cherry Blossom Festival
When: March 29th-April 5th.
Where: All over town. Wherever you find a cherry tree.
Rating: Who knows how across the board this'll be <8|
Pink is everywhere. No matter where you look, you're sure to see the signs of soft pink and white blossoms. There's a fresh spark of life filling the air and just beckoning for everyone to come outside and enjoy the sweet scents of spring. Well, except for you, people with springtime allergies. They just want to make you miserable. But for everyone else, it was a wonderful amazing time to be had.

There are wonderful spots for picnicking! Frolic inducing atmosphere and the space to do it! Every so often you will see vendors selling treats for the event! Cosplayers taking advantage of their natural environments for photo ops! Hot date spots! Blossoms! Sparkles! Everywhere! Even when it rains.
This log is completely open! You can do whatever you'd like with whomever you'd like whenever you'd like. Just start up a thread and go!
Have fun! ♥

kanji gets bitches part 4.
On the first day of the festival, Eli took a break from her rigorous training schedule to check it out. When she spotted Kanji- she hadn't seen him for a few days- she jogged over to catch up with him.
"Hey, you," she greeted him. Aggressively, not playfully.
all the bitches
"What?" he answered, looking up at her from where he sat.
rollin in da bitche$$$
"Nothing," she replied, sounding a little offended. She hesitated, then took a seat across from where he sat. Her posture was perfect. "...Where have you been?"
no subject
"Oh, uh, I went back to Inaba for a week. Sorry, I kinda forgot to tell people."
no subject
"Was it an alright trip?" she asked, not entirely concerned about the answer. Small talk was not her strong suit.
no subject
"Yeah, it was pretty good," he said. Good in the sense that they finally put a stop to the Shadow world, good in the sense that he bonded with Yu more, but it was a mixture of so much complication.
"What 'bout you?" he asked, trying to steer the subject away from that, "What've you been up to?"
no subject
She determined this meant one of two things. Either his trip wasn't actually "pretty good," and he didn't trust her enough to talk about it. Or he was too uncomfortable to speak to her after they'd last seen each other. Or, really, it could have been both. Her eyes narrowed a little more.
"Training," she answered simply. Entirely true. She'd been in a particularly shitty mood as things with Chika started to get complicated, and running and training herself to exhaustion was the best way to release the tension.
no subject
He really had no idea what to say. He didn't really feel like inviting her anywhere, or to do anything. And he could feel her eyes on him, watching him, judging him. It was so uncomfortable how she always did that, and it was something Kanji hated to experience from anyone.
no subject
"Not really," she replied, narrowing her eyes again. "It's not meant to be, though."
no subject
"It can be fun if you make it fun," he offered. Beating up Shadows was pretty fun sometimes when it wasn't stressful. And he figured Eli enjoyed kicking Kanji that one time.
no subject
"It can be fun if you don't take it ssseriousssly," she said, flicking her forked tongue irritably out of habit. She paused before continuing, reigning in a little of her natural aggression. "Which I do. I train to fight, and I fight to win. If I don't take my training seriously, I don't win. And what's the point of doing anything if it isn't to win?"
no subject
Although Eli could do amazing things with that tongue I mean no.He had seen it before, but it was still so weird. It was kind of cool, though, but it usually caught him off-guard."Well, that's your definition of training. If you make it enjoyable, you'll look forward to it, and then you'll do it more often!"
Then he listened to her last statement and sat up, giving her a weird look.
"What's the point of something if you don't win? Geez, man. Winning ain't everything. You don't win a fight, and you learn from it and you do better next time."
Kanji, when did you become so philosophical? Of course, that was Yu's influence speaking somewhat.
no subject
She matched his weird look with an uncharacteristically calm stare. There was an intensity in her eyes, but she wasn't giving him any sort of unimpressed frown this time. What Kanji had said made sense, but she wasn't about to say so out loud.
"For some people, winning is everything. I was taught not to try unless I expect to win."
no subject
She might have noticed the minutely irritated expression that crossed his features at that moment, but he was able to quickly resume his former somewhat-serious look.
He didn't know the circumstances behind what Eli had been told, but he could sympathize. He thought of his father's dying words, the very words that haunted him to this day. In a way it was similar, but he wasn't about to talk about that either.
"Eh, whatever," he finally said.
no subject
The way he brushed her off with a lazy whatever spoke volumes in and of itself, too. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she tried to piece together what he was responding to and why he was responding the way he had.
"Whatever," she repeated, speaking pointedly. After a brief pause, she spoke again. "...I didn't expect to see you out here. Cherry blossom festivals don't exactly seem your style."
no subject
He rolled his eyes, then, and shifted his position on the bench, sloppily leaning back with his arms behind him.
"What. Can't a guy enjoy a nice day?"
