Who: Leon and anyone
What: Leon's under the weather with depression from poisons but he tries to shake it off with some baseball
Where: Sports center? somewhere there's baseball equipment and field
When: November 29
Warnings: potty mouth? Leon's a potty mouth.
As with a lot of people coming under something, Leon also felt like he wasn't in his top condition as usual. As being the super star baseball player in the past, it was rare for him to catch a cold or any sort of thing that would render him out of commission for any games. Or even if he did catch something it probably never affected his performance. Nevertheless, it never occurred to Leon that whatever he caught was something more than just a seasonal depression.
So instead of going to the infirmary, he wandered out to the sports center without any concrete plan of what to do. It wasn't until he got there that he realized how long ago it was that he last played baseball, and decided to actually do something about it.
If you happened to wander in, you would see him either swinging his bat and connecting hits thrown from a pitching machine only to look disappointed, or doing some pitching practice with him looking just as disappointed. Depending on when you walk in, you'd probably see the entire place getting filled with baseballs on the floor.

So when her sports sense started tingling, she hurried out to the field, forgetting she was still in her dress, and lo and behold she found Leon there, peppering the field with stray baseballs.
"Wow... How long have you been at that?" she asked him.
no subject
"Uh this? Been playing baseball as long as I remember!" He gave a slightly awkward laugh, unable to completely hide the embarrassment of getting caught in the middle of doing what he hated the most: effort and practice.
"You need something? If you want I can help out with whatever you need from here."

She walked up to the plate, picking up one of the balls. "I just had a feeling someone was playing out here, and I had to come see," she explained. "If you want a practicing buddy, I'm available!"
no subject
"Me? Practicing? Nah man, I wasn't practicing." He was just trying to get the murky feeling out of himself. But if she was offering...
"You play ball too?"
no subject
"I play! I play a lot of sports. Haven't played baseball in a while, but I'd love to give it a shot again!"
no subject
Just not. Practice.
"Guess we can have a one-batter game or something."
no subject
"Works for me! Stay right there, I've gotta go get changed!" she insisted as she turned tail and bolted for the dorms.

Plus how long has it been since he did something even remotely close to a competitive game? Not recent enough, that was for sure.
no subject
"All right, I'm ready for you!" she declared confidently.
no subject
"You better be, 'cause I'm not gonna go easy even for girls." He replied, moving over to the mound while giving his arm a warm-up stretch.

Leon sees that vaguely familiar strange ball coming out of the machine, but he has no power to stop it.
Instead of hitting it he lets it fly by, slamming into the safety net that was set up for just in case.
"What the hell!?!"
no subject
Accusing you. Making you remember.
Remember.

That he was almost killed by cutesy Sayaka and he ended up killing her.
Leon stared at it in horror for a minute...

And it breaks. You hear it break. You see it break. It's broken. You've broken it. The broken pieces lie on the ground, off in the distance.
Just like that one time.

No, none of the concern was given to the shattered crystal ball. It was fake anyways.
Leon decides to take a break from baseball as he moves to the furthest point away from the shattered ball and sits facing away from it.

If you didn't know any better, you'd think you were hearing some sort of panicky noises coming from it in your native language. Someone babbling about not dying or something.
no subject
Was it some kind of ghostly haunting?? That kind of crap was for Hagakure, not himself. Either way, Leon felt like he shouldn't stay any longer so as he spewed out more profanities about, he made his way out of the field.

The point was, with so much of the campus subdued, one person trying to really stretch their efforts and excel, at least a bit, reached out and grabbed Hajime's spiritual senses.
Though he'd never been great at sports, Hajime still couldn't help but be a little impressed at the ball-strewn field, Leon's figure in the center of it all. For a minute or so, he merely watched, taking special note of the all star's frustration in the face of success. "Need some help?"
no subject
"Huh?!" Leon paused at his own squawking voice and cleared it before continuing, "you wanna help clean up? Thanks, man. I was thinking of leaving the place like this 'cuz it's a pain to pick all these up."
no subject
"Sure, if you're finished. It looked to me like you were just getting started, though."
no subject
"What? You gonna stick around for some throws or battings? If you wanna bat I can throw for ya. Or whatever." Just don't say it's practice, okay. Leon will never admit it even if hell freezes over.
no subject
"I'd be fine with that. I'm fairly sure I'm equally terrible at everything, whatever way." Wow, great opener, that'll make him happy to have you around. It's best for Leon to know what he's getting into, right? "But it never hurts to try and improve."

He took up a bat and stood in the batter's box. He did a warm-up swing before pointing the bat at Hajime's direction with a light smirk on his face.
"Just give it your all in your throws, alright?"
no subject
"Right! I'll... definitely give you a throw like you've never seen before!"
He picked up one of the excess of balls scattered over the field. His baseball pitches couldn't be any worse than his sales pitch, after all. Okay. He'd seen how to do this on television. Reeling one arm back, Hajime summoned his strength and chucked the ball.
It sailed right over Leon's head.
