This wasn't the first time she tried to bring people with her to her home dimension, but last time it happened, things were... not so pleasant. They had arrived in the middle of an attack by Dr. Eggman Nega's forces, and thankfully were able to repel him. This time, however, things were different. All was peaceful and calm. She had talked with Jon some time ago about letting people visit, and now seemed as good a time as any. The shadow bugs were hardly a problem now, and the opportunity was there.

And so with a stable portal in place thanks to the Sol Emeralds, Blaze was allowing people to visit her home dimension, and its capitol city of Soleanna.



Visitors were free to explore to their heart's content, so long as they didin't interfere with the regular goings-on around town. And any trouble would be dealt with personally by Blaze. She had her eye on everyone, although not at all times, and certainly more focused on the known troublemakers who happened to visit...

((Feel free to start your own threads! Soleanna in Blaze's dimension is very much like a Venetian town, with all the shops and amenities you'd expect. Most of the population are koalas. Have fun!))

"Oh, I'm sure I will. A little trip away to a place like this ought to do wonders for relaxing me." he replied. He took a bite of his pastry and nodded - very good! Not too sweet, which was a plus.

"What about you? Do you have any plans for the duration of everyone's stay?"

"In all honesty, keeping an eye on things," she admitted. "While many of my friends are coming, some of the less savoury types at the academy are also here... I need to make sure my homeland is safe."

"Is that so." Jon replied, setting down his tea cup.

"Give me names and rough appearances and I'll make sure they're no bother to you. You deserve some time off to enjoy yourself, Luv. You've no need of, nor do you deserve, that sort of stress."

She set her cup down, sighing. "I don't want to be a burden on you," she said. "You're supposed to be here on holiday. You don't need to worry yourself with my problems."

[jonny_talbain]

"And how exactly is it that I'm supposed to enjoy my Holiday while knowing yours is being infringed on by the Academy's ne'er do wells?" Jon replied, quirking an eyebrow. "Believe me, It's no trouble. I'd sooner make myself useful than wander about with my hands in my pockets anyway. If you're going to visit a city so marvelous as this and at the request of its Princess, you ought to make sure you're earning your keep, as far as I can see."

"...Very well," she finally relented, shaking her head. "I can see you won't be dissuaded."

She set about explaining the strange things that had happened. The suspicious behaviour of Garrett. The odd conversation she had with Randall.

"Never heard of Garret. But Randall is the Archaeology teacher, isn't he? The new one, I mean. Chances are he's just interested in them from an academic standpoint."

At least, that's what Jon hoped.

"I'll keep an eye out for both of them and make sure they cause you no trouble. You've my word."

"Thank you. Your concern is appreciated," she told him honestly, finishing her tea. "I certainly hope so. If that's the case, he certainly had more than a few Freudian slips in his speech."

"If anything goes awry, I'll be on top of him quicker than he can blink." Jon replied, doing his best to allay her worries. "I know how vital the Emeralds are to you."

[vela_nova]

She nodded in agreement. "They're the life force of this world. If something happens to them..." She shook her head. It was something she didn't even want to consider. "But you know that already."

[jonny_talbain]

"You've my word of honor as something approaching a gentleman, that nothing will happen to them while I'm here."

He wasn't a gentleman, though he did try.

"I'd sooner not see anything happen to this world. And I'd sooner not see you upset."

She wasn't exactly sure how to reply to that. She just looked down a bit, a small smile on her face.

"Thank you."

"Most welcome."

Sipping Tea, biting pastry, trying not to feel anxious over terrible attempts to flirt...

"So. Other than tea and cakes at quaint street side cafes, what do you like to do in the city?"

[vela_nova]

"Well... I admit I don't get to spend much leisure time in the city," she said sheepishly. "Affairs of state, fighting off Eggman Nega... I don't have much in the way of idle time..."

[jonny_talbain]

"Well, that's a given." Jon replied. "How about this, then - what have you always wanted to do in the city, yet have had no opportunity to do due to affairs of state and affairs of kicking an Eggman about?"

Blaze found herself lost in thought. The idea of leisure time like this is only a recent development for the fiery princess. She rested her hand on her chin. "Well... What do... Well, what do you like to do with your spare time?" she asked.

[jonny_talbain]

"I am an incredibly boring man." Jon replied, a rare tone of self depreciation making its way into his voice. "You know I like to read. I like to train - performing taolu to strengthen my fighting skills. I like to run about in the woods. In terms of city life, I'm a fan of getting the odd drink under my belt. A curry and some chips...."

None of this spoke to him in the way it ought to when contemplating taking a Princess out on the town.

"I do enjoy seeing films. Or bowling. Bowling can be quite fun. Not... ah. Not sure if either of those appeals to you or is on offer in your city."

"Our worlds aren't THAT different," Blaze explained. "We certainly have bowling and movies. Probably not the same movies, but... You know. I've never gone bowling. Though I'm not averse to trying."

[jonny_talbain]

"And I'd love to teach you." Jon replied with a nod. "Do you know of somewhere nearby we can go? If not, maybe we can ask the owners."

Hopefully Jon's big human fingers wouldn't be too fat to fit into the holes made in balls meant for Koala use.

"Well... I'm not... entirely sure," Blaze admitted, a small blush of embarrassment on her cheeks. To think, she didn't know where something that simple was in her own city... "We'll just... ask someone."

[jonny_talbain]

"I'll take care of it. Hold on a moment, I shall be right back."

Jon carefully got to his feet, hoping not to knock over his chair or a neighboring table and look like a twerp in front of her. He walked over to where the Owners were working behind the counter. One of them pulled out a napkin and a pen and drew a little map for him, showing the location of both a nearby bowling alley and a cinema. He thanked them profusely and made his way back to her.

"We're set - not too long of a walk, either."

"Well then. Let's go," she said, as they walked down the city streets to find the bowling alley per the map Jon had obtained. "Thanks for this," she said to him on the way. "I appreciate this..."

[jonny_talbain]

"I appreciate the invite. And I appreciate that you're happy to spend time with me. I... ah. Well, I do quite enjoy your company, if you weren't aware."

He was sure he had been fairly good about not keeping that a secret, but one never knew.

"Yes, well... I had that impression," she replied simply, cheeks a bit red.

"....good. I know I'm not always, ah, the most vocal about that sort of thing."
