Cookies. Cookies.
Who: Leon, Olivia
Where: Leon's Room - BE-12 (with Yarne)
When: July 15th - Backdated
What: Olivia agreed to make Leon some cookies after she got settled in. She's making good on her agreement.
Warnings: Probably not.
She hadn't asked him what kind of cookies he liked. Consequently, she found herself caught with a recipe book and a plethora of options. She settled on halving recipes and quantities, and decided on three.
Chocolate chip.
Gingersnap.
Peanut butter.
They tasted... all right, but she was sure she could have done better. But it was wiser for her not to say it. Although she was probably going to say it anyway. Bad habits were hard to break and even harder to do so without the additional support. The Shepherds had been very supportive when she thought back to them. Even though they hadn't been together for long.
Whatever the case, she found herself at the door the roster had said she'd find him at. She'd knocked and almost immediately reconsidered.
He might not even be here. I should have used that... screen... thing to contact him first.

So he almost missed the sound of Olivia knocking on the door, and almost thought the knock was for his roommate. When he did hear the knock and that Yarne was apparently nowhere in the room, he groggily crawled out of his bed and stumbled over to the door to open it.
"'Sup...?"
Say hello to a half-asleep Leon, not fully recognizing who's standing in front of him.

Olivia held out the small platter of cookies she'd made for him, overall wrapped in a pink translucent wrapping that looked more like a present than a plate of food.
"I-I made you some cookies. Like I said I would..." And almost immediately she was bowing her head, "I'm so sorry for waking you! I thought you would be up! Ohhhhh, I'm so stupid! I knew I should have waited!"
no subject
"Hey Olivia! It's alright!" He replied with a laugh, trying to reassure her, "getting woken up by someone'll suck if the person's a noisy naggy guy but if it's a cute girl like you, you can wake me up at sunrise! Plus with breakfast cookies? Can't be any better!"
It was the truth, actually. The worst experience of getting woken up by someone was Ishimaru banging on his door that one morning back when they were still at Hope's Peak Academy.
"Wanna come in? It'd be kinda lonely to eat these nice cookies by myself."
no subject
As steady as his words were, her blushing was much the same. He was still calling her 'cute.' It wasn't something completely foreign to her, but he hardly knew her. So maybe that meant he was a good judge of character. Maybe he saw something in her that she didn't see.
"You... don't mind? I mean, you were sleeping, so you could just... go back to sleep."
no subject
"Of course not!" Leon replied, moving out of the way to welcome Olivia in. "Go back to sleep and leave you alone for the rest of the day? That's a waste!"
Unless she had other things to do. But Leon didn't think much about that part.
"You can sit at my desk! I'd offer the bed for comfort but it's kinda messy since I just woke up."
no subject
"L-leave me alone...?"
Olivia laughed weakly, as if she didn't know how to take that. "You're very nice. I thank you, Leon. I hope you like them." She paused. "The cookies, I-I mean."
no subject
"Oh right, I meant as in that maybe we'd go look at places right after this, ya know? Unless you had somethin' goin' on, then it's alright since it's just me wantin' to spend time with you." He gave a smile before directing his attention to the cookies.
"Man, these look delicious! It's like an awesome breakfast!" With that said, Leon picked up one to eat it in a few bites. "Mmm! Yeah, real good!"

Old habits were hard to break.
"I'm so happy." That he liked them, of course. And she darkened at the concept that he wanted to spend time with her. "I-I didn't have anything else planned, if that's what you mean. I'd be... happy to do something with you. I still don't really know my way around."
faelkjgh i took forever to tag back i'm sorry
Only if he knew it though. He barely knew what kind of person Olivia was, much less what she liked to do other than baking. What perfect timing for him to get to know her better!
IT'S OKAY. I HAD THE CON AND WHAT NOT.
Because in the same way that he wanted to get to know her, she felt the same way for him. Friends could help and she didn't have a hard time drawing people to her.
"When you're ready to go, we can make a day of it, Leon." And he'd probably want to get truly dressed in something that wasn't pajamas. Or so she assumed anyway. For all she knew, he slept in his clothes. That hair sure made it seem like it.
i have no excuse except video games sob
Leon walked to his closet to change. He didn't take long to change his clothes, but what took long was styling his hair along with putting all those accessories on, then checking himself in the mirror to see that everything was in order. Probably letting Olivia stay in the room while he did all that.
Once he was finally ready, he turned to Oliva again.
"Sorry it took a while. Gotta look nice when goin' out on dates with a pretty girl, you know?"
I HAVE NO EXCUSE EITHER...
It gave Olivia plenty to think about, mostly that she wasn't sure how to handle that kind of kindness. He was being generous and there was nothing wrong with that, per se. She wished she could handle it more gracefully, but it was no different from Stahl or any of the other Shepherds when they were being considerate. The only thing she could really do was wait with time.
Giving him the time to prepare was giving her the time to think and grow even more flustered as time went on. Yet when he was ready, he certainly looked ready. Although she was almost certain he hadn't done anything different with his radiant head of red hair.
"I-it doesn't really matter how you look," she protested somewhat weakly. "You didn't have to go through so much trouble."

"Ladies first!"
no subject
"Uhm, Leon," she said back to him as she looked back to the open doorway. "Where did you feel like going? We should go somewhere that you like."
no subject
"Where I wanna go? Huh..." He gave it a thought, cupping his chin. Where he wanted to go deep down in his heart was somewhere related to baseball. Hitting some machine-pitched balls or something... But he was hesitant on letting Olivia tag along to that. What if she thought it was lame? He didn't want to be considered as someone lame.
"Let's go to the shopping mall then! There's tons of different stores and stuff there."
no subject
She didn't know what that was, but shopping implied shops and she knew at least it was a market. Markets she could do. She might have even found something for her little theatre that she wanted to make. Not that she had much in the way of coin.
"That sounds perfect. It'll give me lots of things to look at and you can tell me about the places as we pass them. It'd be a wonderful way to help me get acquainted with this land I've come to." Even if she wasn't there extensively, she could at least be somewhat familiar with the area as long as she was there.
no subject
"What kinda world are you from? Is it really totally different from here?" This place was strange to Leon alright, but there were still elements familiar to back home and that made it easier for him to bear with it. But to think of a situation where he'd be thrown to a completely foreign world alone... Leon didn't exactly want to keep thinking about that.
no subject
She looked over to Leon and shifted somewhat awkwardly. "It's... completely different. Everything here is foreign to me. I don't understand most of the things people say, or the things I see. Computers, lights, malls, stores. None of it I understand."
She drew in a deep breath with some thought, "You ever read those stories about princes and princesses? That's the kind of world I'm from. Old... I guess, in comparison to here."
no subject
Then again, his roommate was a bunny warrior kind of guy.
"Man, that must suck, coming to a world you have no clue about." He was vaguely reminded of the Hope's Peak Academy incident. "I'm no good at explaining things but if you have any questions, let me know, alright? Don't wanna have you be confused where we go."
no subject
"But it's easier to have people like you willing to help," she clarified. "And a lot of people have been very kind. I'll make sure if I need anything just to tell you. You're helping a lot already. I promise."

Like buildings and some people, including those he knew from before he ended up here. Speaking of people, "yeah, plenty of people can be nice here, I know some guys who don't mean harm. Just that they can get stupid annoying with all the nagging they do like a mom."
He was totally talking about a certain former hall monitor.
"I'm all for fun though. No annoying nagging from me!" He then said, grinning. "If you ever get tired of anyone nagging at you, just come to me."
no subject
It was how she wanted to feel about the Shepherds. She hadn't been with them long enough to form that relationship, but she harboured a longing that grew when Leon spoke.
"I w-wouldn't mind it if you nagged me," she protested gently. In fact, she probably could have used it—not that she was about to admit that aloud. "B-but if I have anyone who's being especially troublesome, I'll be sure to come to you first!"
