Ema's got everything set up for science club! She's got some supplies in the corner for different projects, as well as instructions for a CD hovercraft, a film canister rocket, and of course your own volcano, as well as some stuff about forensic science (especially fingerprinting and luminol testing). She also has snacks laid out on a table, Snackoos as well as different kinds of chips and pretzels.

This is a mingle log, so feel free to mingle and get excited about science!

Ema herself is leaned against the experiment table, flipping through a book she found for more fun science activities, occasionally munching on a chip, and cheerfully greeting people as they come in.

She's really hoping this goes well, and expects it to. Science is great!

Someone was very interested in science. Science of all sorts. Teach him the ways of science, Ema.

"Hello. I am here for the club meeting."

She is ready to teach!

"Rob! I'm glad you came."

She gestures at the experiment table, as R.O.B. has no use for the snack table.

"What kind of science are you interested in?"

There was one scientific field that Ema had a lot of experience in, and that R.O.B. was quite curious about since he met her.

"I wish to learn about forensic analysis," he explained. "Query: Do you have experiments dealing with this subject?"

Rock was built to be a lab assistant originally. He still had that programming in him. So the idea of a club where he could indulge in that side of himself was appealing to him. He was supposed to be learning to fit in.

"Um... Hello?"

"Hi!"

Doesn't she know this guy? Oh right!

"Hey, you're the guy with the robot dog! Welcome to science club!"

Having a robot dog puts you really high in the ranks of coolness.

"That's right! Rock," he re-introduced himself. "Nice to see you again! Rush isn't here right now, I left him back at my room. So what kind of experiments are we doing?"

"Hi Ema!"

Sonny is here. He's wearing his 'Baking is science for hungry people' shirt and has a few big bags of Doritos to share with the club. Because you can't science on an empty stomach. Unless you're baking. In which case it's a prerequisite, according to the shirt.

"Hi Sonny!"

She takes the chips from him and puts them on the table with the others.

"I don't know if we have any ovens here, so you might have to do some science other than baking."

"That's OK! I don't mind. I'm sure it will be fun to do any kind of science."

He doesn't take any of the science classes. He has no idea what's going to happen here. That's actually pretty exciting!

"Just tell me what you need me to do!"

In the sake of fairness, Eikichi has arrived with a large envelope, the horoscope page cut out and folded.

"Eikichi! Hey!"

Similarly, she has a folder on the table with her own horoscope findings inside. She smiles, holding it up for him to see.

"Have you been doing your research?"

It's very serious.

Chihiro had arrived with a laptop tucked under his arm. Though in actuality, his backpack also contain a COMP, external drives, and a couple of other devices he manages to carry along.

"Hi, I hope I'm not too late."

[atmyage]

"Nope! This party's just getting started."

She smiles, eying the laptop.

"Did you bring that to do computer science with?"

[cplusplus]

"Somewhat yeah," he smiled sheepishly as his cheeks turned pink. "I can do a few things in this laptop but it's not that many, actually..."

Even if he didn't originally plan to sign up for science club, here is Kiyotaka anyway, armed with a clipboard of notes and horoscopes. This is the guy who started out shooting down astrology and now he is in too deep. But he needs to prove it's not a real science. Thanks, Ema and Eikichi.

Ema is also ready, a folder sat next to her full of clippings and print offs of horoscopes from the last few days, with a page of things that have happened that she's written down.

"Hi, Kiyotaka! Have you been doing your research?"

"Of course!!"

Wow, he looks offended that his dedication would even be questioned like that. He holds the clipboard up just to prove he's not joking around.

"Some of my findings are... a little troubling." Translation: not 100% WRONG which means he was not 100% RIGHT. "First of all, what have you found out?"

It's Apple Kid, scientific genius and guy who sort of smells like a three-day-old gym sock.

Science is great!

Ew, he does smell kind of bad...

Ema can't help but make a little bit of a face. "Um, hi! Have we... met?"

"No, I'm Apple Kid, genius inventor," he said, introducing himself in his humble manner. "Pleased to meet you!" He stuck his hand out to shake it.

It was probably covered in something undefinable.

The short robot with a big eye is eagerly watching the door, and giving eager little waves to each person who comes in. Everyone's coming for science. It's going to be great. Soon the whole school will be here! Aren't you excited???

"Blue!" Science friend!

Ema bounces up to him. "Are you excited for science club, Blue!?"

Blue reached out, took Ema's hand in both of its own, and looked meaningfully up into her eyes. It is always excited for science club.

GORDON WAS ALWAYS HERE, OKAYokay. In fact he was there to open the lab for the science club, and since then he'd been, for lack of a better word, goofing around with the science toys.

Because a man with a PhD in theoretical physics totally goofs around with science toys.

There are cars on tracks, and balloons filled with helium, and those little light-bulb things with filaments that spin when light hits them, and question-mark blocks (from his short-lived experiments to see if what emerged when struck was subject to monty-hall probability) and plasma globes and tesla coils and electromagnet towers...
