Turrets Have Nightmares, too.

Who: Ishimaru, Mondo, and Vivian
What: Nightmares and Misunderstandings
Where: BE-08
When: May 22, middle of the night

Vivian would never describe gunfire as a popping sound, as she's heard before. It was like a pulse to her, a beat drumming from her fingertips, bursting into flames and life before engulfing the existence of another in mere seconds. It cradled its own sense of being, a life no one wanted or asked for and yet could not be ignored.

It followed her everywhere she went. No escape, no leniency. No peace.

And behind terrified eyes she saw someone like her. A ghost turning toward her as men fell at her feet, blood still falling in the wake. That child was frightened, eyes wide even in their determination. They were so sorry.

And the beat went on in her ears. A pound. A crack. And a scream.

"Ah!"

Vivian sat up with just that one yelp in her bed, fingers tearing into her sheets. No, no, she told herself, shaking her head to match the rest of her body. She pulled herself from her sheets, just her long Friendship Pony night gown and feet rushing with her from her bedroom.

Gravitating toward Taka's room was practically instinct, her need to be comforted and reassured something she could never explain. Finding the boy's room, she snuck in, the darkness taking her by surprise when she realized she had no idea which bed to turn to. Failing to let her eyes adjust, she simply went for the nearest bed, pulling up at the blankets and whispering.

"Taka," she cried desperately, voice soft despite that. She pulled herself into the bed, unable to see properly. She just had to wake him up.

In the shield of darkness, Vivian could not discern the form she was urging awake. She had no idea that she was addressing this sleeping lump all wrong.

This sleeping lump was pushed further away from the land of slumber, drifting ever closer to consciousness. But not quite. She was much too quiet to stir him out of it. His breathing became more pronounced as he turned over to face the new presence.

His huge, brawny arm draped over her body in the process. Sweet dreams, robobaby.

Kiyotaka, on the other hand, was a much lighter sleeper. At least when it came to Finals Season, when he threw his strict sleep schedule right out the window and did things like nap between exams and stay up late into the night poring over textbooks. His own nightmares didn't help much, especially since the stress of the waking world spiked their frequency. It would take days for him to readjust after the last of it.

But since that time had not yet approached, his fitful sleep was easily and oh so rudely awakened by what sounded like his name. His eyes cracked open and he took a second to realize that he was awake and he'd heard something from across the room.

"MmmhOowada?"

Mondo was the only person there, after all, who else would it be.

More aural stimuli only caused him to stir into consciousness so superficially it might as well have been slumber still. It was enough to spur him to movement again, and this time, he pulled Vivian close and drew her into the prison of his arms. He muttered something incomprehensible, but it might have sounded like 'duck' or 'shuck'.

Ah. Well.

That was definitely not Mondo's voice.

"Vivian?" He sat up, more alert now that he realized something in the room was very wrong. His gaze went for the door, searching the darkness for someone who wasn't there.

"I'm--! I'm awake! What are you-- where are you?"
