Backdated to late April: A Brave Band of Warriors Who Fight for Truth and Justice or Whatever.
Who: Connor and whoever wanted to go down to explore with him and give him support because "oh me oh my, it's so scary down there"! Maybe a guest star?!?!
What: Playing detective sorta kinda about the goings on inside the bunkers.
Where: The basement/bunkers/caverns.
When: Late April.
Warnings: Lotta fightin' here.
So Connor waited by the entrance to these, so called, bunkers that he heard so much about. He stood there quietly trying to piece together what he had learned within the passed few days. There were many concerns and he tried to organize them all:
1. The "statues", rumored to be of old citizens from FDC. Strange.
2. The bugs, who were very much nuisances to most of the students and staff. That one strange man aside, though Connor was unwilling to find his version believable just yet. Noted anyway.
3. The thing that the one student mentioned that powered him and his companion. Something being guarded? It seemed to have them run into some trouble.
4. Shiek's message to him, telling him of all that he found with his troupe.
He had to see for himself, as well as find more answers. This attracted other people, much to his dismay. He was ready to go alone. But a lot of people weren't having it. He was fine with Desmond hanging around, Gordon too, as they were good fighters and men he could trust.
The others that signed up, he wasn't so sure.
But as he told Desmond, it was probably better if curious, young eyes came with a strong group to make sure no one got hurt. They could go regardless of what Connor said. Not that he didn't believe that they could defend themselves, but better safe than sorry. No one was going to be harmed under his watch, at least he could make sure. The children said they had abilities that could help, and he earnestly hoped they could. One could only venture to find out, and he knew that was a risky move.
He didn't want the group to be larger than this, should they have to be stealthier...if they could be stealthier. Again, he trusted Gordon and Desmond there, not so much the others. But they could handle an ambush at least, maybe.
He stayed silent as all of these thoughts continued to find a place in his mind, as he waited for the others.

"...So is it just us down there, or are there others?"

He had a small, green device with him though currently inactive. He wasn't sure what could happen in there, so he had brought bandages and assortment of items stashed in his rucksack.
no subject
"Chihiro? Eh, yes, I'm heading down there to investigate some things of my own. What is that?" He asks of the device in his hand.
no subject
As long as it's efficient, who really cared about what weapon it was? This was saying if it was even a "weapon" at all, in a physical sense; magic and all in these parts.
He would nod and he almost responded with an answer, until Chihiro shown up.
So now, he decided to address them both.
Connor didn't know Chihiro at all, so seeing him so small was a little worrying at first. But again, he couldn't make any judgments, nor should he. He had no right to do so until he saw what the kid could do. But he must have agreed for him to be here from the network. Then it occurred to him that they never introduced on the network in the first place.
"You must be someone I spoke with on the computer, and I see you two have already been acquainted," he finally said. That was good, so he wouldn't be around complete strangers with one another. He looked to Gordon now, "There are others coming, one of them also whom I spoke with but do not know so well."
Now to Chihiro, "Chihiro, was it then? Connor. You must be the boy who said he could use some form of magic using a computer program. Is that what you brought with you?"
Didn't look like much.
no subject
"And this," he flipped the device open and bringing it to life. "is a COMP but not just any COMP, its Operating Systemn has been modded and has Alter Ego's program coded into the system."
Though saying that much probably did not put any comfort to either of them. He typed out a couple of commands until an exact echo of Chihiro's voice cheerfully say he was going to execute the command. A strange bright light surrounded the device before a girl materialized out and float before them.
"Master are we going to fight more of those strange insects?" she asked in excitement to which the brunet could answer in awkward nod.
He turned back to Gordon and Connor, "this is Moh Shuvuu... She's a demon."
Moh curiously floated to them, circling around both Connor and Gordon with absolute fascination.

Emerging from their mutual destination's entrance, Desmond moved to stand besides Connor.
"All clear as far entrance goes," Desmond assured them, then continued, "Can't speak for the rest of it, though."
Gordon got a quick nod from him in greeting. "Hey." But what made him pause was Chihiro. Seriously? And what the HELL was floating around? God, he was sick of this shit. Whatever.
"Hey, kid," he added, smiling a little.

"Wow, it's like we have our own party here!" Watt thought out loud. She paused. "But, um, not like the celebration kind of party. The party of members type of party."
She looked over at the group. She wasn't familiar with any of them, really. Her eyes did set on that holographic girl, though! That was neat! "Woah..." she muttered in awe while staring at Moh Shuvuu.
no subject
"She may have more than a few bugs to worry about. The same goes for all of us."
And then TINY SUN APPEARS, and Gordon boggles. Well. Whatever she is, he'll have to ask if she'd like a play-date with Maxwell after they've survived this.
"I don't think we've met yet." He addresses the solar...ling.
no subject
"Are you a Quicksilver?" Moh asked Watt when she floated towards the ball of light.
Chihiro looked back on the COMP, switching the screen to the saved cache he had imported from his computer. He frowned to himself however nodded, "I've saved what info has been passed around the network, we'll be facing quite a lot..."
no subject
She then looked at Gordon and took a quick look at him. Nope, she wasn't familiar with him either. "I don't think I've met you either. Or for that matter...um, I don't think I know anyone here..." She turned to face the entire group. "I'm Watt! I know that I'm small, but I've been on a lot of adventures before and I'm not afraid of what's down there!" Watt let out a few strands of electricity as if to prove her point (and also to hide the fact that she was, in fact, a little bit afraid of going down into the bunkers).

The boy seemed to share a healthy relationship with the "demon" so that was pleasing. Probably, hopefully.
Incredible. To think, this would be interesting to see. I hope the boy's words ring true that this could really help our cause.
He only thought to himself for now, and only felt like he needed to share his opinions when necessary. That was not now, as they were regrouping. Connor said Chihiro and his "friend" were already invited, as well as this small "sun child".
So when Moh went elsewhere, he put his full attention to Desmond for a moment.
"We will not know for sure unless we venture much deeper. If there is something truly being protected, we may have a lot more to handle than we could even believe."
He nodded towards Gordon as he said something of the same light, and he also made sure he had his tomahawk and his hidden blades ready; because he was sure those were what he was going to be using the most. Then he saw Watt, listened to her, took note of her name, and had his eyes widen a little as she shown off some sparks. He had an idea, as well as concerns.
"Watt, what you say is good to hear," Connor walked a little closer to her. It was hard to notice a particular fact on the network, so let's talk about it now. Then maybe also, it could make her happy to know she could really be of help.
Call him a softie if you want to.
"If you are true to those words, then there is something you can help us with. I am sure that the bunkers at some points would be too dark to the eye. However, you emit...light. Be it may we need to see and are not in danger of enemies, would you mind lighting the way?"
no subject
Now that all the surprises are out of the way, the small details settle into the levels of his forebrain and he realizes...
"...Wait. Chihiro? You're actually a boy?"
Um. Aaaaaaawkward.
no subject
However, he nearly dropped his COMP when he heard a familiar reaction. Chihiro quickly went pale and started to nervously fidget the device, "... I've always been a boy... I'm... really sorry." Seriously sorry, it wasn't Gordon's fault that he had first met him in a skirt.
"I'll explain later on," he quickly added. Correction, there was going to be a lot of explaining he needed to do once they're done investigating.
no subject
But seriously, Desmond lived in New York. He's knew many types of people due to that alone. They all came into the bar he worked at, after all. Even so, he had no idea what the Hell this exchange was about, considering he met Chihiro in a perfectly nice pair of pants.
Glancing at him, he could only think to move on from this awkward as fuck topic.
"We should get a move on," Desmond insisted, throwing a thumb over his shoulder toward the entrance. "It's not gonna explore itself anytime soon." That said, he was already turning for it. Going first seemed logical, since he had scouted ahead already.
no subject
"I didn't, ah, of course, you've probably always been a b--you don't have to apologize! Just... Aw hell, I'm sorry, it just surprised me, that's all. You're right, we can talk about it later." He agrees in a quiet mumble.
Desmond was already heading into the tunnels by then, so Gordon fell in behind him quickly.
no subject
After speaking with Watt, he turned to Desmond, who had already started revving up for the exploration.
Easy man, this was his idea."If everyone is ready then, we move out. We should not waste any more time when a foe could see and start plotting. Let us hurry."
He would soon run in along with the others. He hoped everyone was ready, because they were going to have to be as much as they could be.
no subject
"Okay, so, um, I overheard that things around pretty clear in the entrance...when do ya think we might run into more of those shadow bugs, or...any sort of bad guys down there?" she asked the party.
no subject
But no, never mind that. He walked closer to Watt as he checked through the files in his COMP, Moh Shuvuu floating just behind them.
"Oh, well, this is my first time checking the bunkers myself but... roughly about-" his explanation was cut by a couple of bugs passing by them. "... pretty soon."
no subject
"Watch your flanks." He advises, tapping a button on his suit's chestplate and lighting an embedded flashlight as the corridors start to branch. "Let's not give anything the opportunity to see us as prey. If we get anywhere near the old IT server room, I want to take a look in there."
Right. GLaDOS' old place. GLaDOS and Vivian's, specifically.
"They lived down here with those bugs; maybe we can find some clues in there."
no subject
Connor could be heard as he had actually tried to keep to the center of the group the moment they got further in. It was so he could watch all sides of the group with some ease. Keeping things in check, in other words. Connor was always on his toes during missions like this, and now was even more so since children were involved.
So far, nothing yet. Connor didn't expect to see anything so early in, but you never knew. However, the fact that there were those who resided here was something worth getting more info on.
"Who had lived down here, students?"
no subject
His voice pauses as he turns, flashlight illuminating a purple, fuzzy trail of shadow bugs that just scurries out of sight before the eye can fully register.
"...things. GLaDOS was the teacher; I don't know how many of you were familiar with her."
no subject
So long as he doesn't come near Chihiro's AI-not-son-totally-son ever again."Miss GLaDOS? I used to be her assistant briefly," Chihiro answered. GLaDOS was an enigma for Chihiro at most, he was somewhat concern when he heard rumors of a lockdown incident, but he turned the other cheek from that. His shoulder slumped when he recalled that he never even gotten around talking much to her.
LATE AS HELL I'M SORRY
She knew about him coming with a group to investigate the shadow bugs, but she had to do it on her own. It was easier for her to work like that. She was interested, that was enough of a reason. But not only that, she had a bit of a bone to pick with them since she heard they affected her team. She'd rather not have that happen again.
Edel faintly heard the voices of the group before. So her curiosity prompted her to track down where they came from. Watch out, everyone. There's a white fluffy sharp thing slowly approaching you all.
It's okay!
"...why would anyone want to live down here? The only memory I have of these bunkers is that they were used during the Aparoid War. It was...pretty intense and scary. Um, Vivian and GLaDOS must be pretty brave to live down here-"
She stopped her sentence and her hovering right in her tracks. There was something...bothering her. She couldn't help like feeling that they were being followed.
"...wait. Um. I feel like we're not alone here anymore," she said quietly, turning around. Maybe all it was was just the bunkers getting to her and there wasn't actually anything! At least, she hoped so. Regardless, she used up some more of her energy to brighten up the hallway even more.
Y HELLO
He was just about to make a comment about this "Aparoid War" too, as he had heard of this war time and again, but that was for later.
They had a visitor, and none Connor had invited on this excursion.
"Everyone," Connor quietly exclaimed, with firmness. "Hold your ground. There is someone following us."
He listened closely, the pitter patter of clawed paws on the ground. A creature, something guarding the grounds? Connor didn't know, but he wasn't about to let an attack on the group go without a huge fight from him. Of course, he wasn't stupid. He merely made his way closer to the guest, as he swore it was coming towards them. He got on the defensive, "Show yourself."
suuuup
Not knowing how they would respond to her, she raised her guard. There was more caution in her steps as she walked into the brightened area to reveal herself. But she showed no open hostility or desire to attack the group. Not unless they attacked her first. When she became fully visible, she stopped walking and after a few moments gave a small acknowledging nod.
Yo
What IS it? Since there are a zillion kinds of pokemon, and he has far from encyclopedic knowledge of them, he doesn't recognize an Absol when he sees one...
"Are you here to help us search?"
The rest of the questions can wait.
