Who: Mondo and Vinnie
What: SERIOUS TALK
Where: First greenhouse, then ???
When: March 27th in the afternoon

It was unlike him to dwell on the stuff that bothered him for too long. And right now, he had regrets stacked on top of regrets; even the ones that were years old stirred to make the newer ones more powerful against him than they would have been standing alone. Even if he were holding a conversation and it switched to a topic that agitated him, his typical first reaction had always been to aggressively demand they stop right there. Such thoughts always stressed him out, and what good were they when he needed to direct his entire focus on what was tangible and real? Back when he inherited the responsibility as leader of the Crazy Diamonds, he couldn't let himself become prey to his inner demons. Not when the future of the entire gang balanced on his shoulders. He couldn't voice them, either, or else he would look weak and loose the respect that was pivotal to his success. It became second nature to shove them aside and focus on whatever was at hand.

But maybe that's why he barely changed. His personal problems were neglected and left to overgrow inside of him until they were a tangle constricting him like a garden overrun with vines so thick he couldn't recognize the form underneath. Evading the matters didn't make them go away. It just meant they went unresolved. And right now, more than anything he was eager to shape himself up. If there was anything he learned from his mistakes, it was that turning a blind eye to his own reality was a good temporary fix, but it never combated his conflicts at their cores. Perhaps if he could go to the root of the problem like Chihiro had tried when he wanted to change...

Already he'd ripped open his defenses and let his doubts and insecurities flow before Jock. It had been a little embarrassing in retrospect, but refreshing to just let it all go. He got to thinking a little more about himself and his relationships to others. When Chihiro felt inadequate, he ran to Mondo for help. Mondo felt inadequate, and having surpassed a kind of acceptance that yes, he was deeply flawed and yes, he could use a lot of work being someone he wanted to be, it became that much easier to find it in him to ask for help. The first person who came to mind was Vinnie. He already knew about his self-cultivation aspirations and seemed like the right person to confide in about this matter in particular.

When he felt ready, he went around looking for him in places he might find him. His searches took him to the greenhouse, where he was starting to regret checking because he kept thinking he saw him out the corner of his eye when it was just a plant. GREEN HAIR, MAN. Occasional floral-print shirts, man. Just when he thought he should give up, one of the Vinnie-plants started moving. It was actually Vinnie. He strolled right up and called out to him.

"Hey, Vinnie! You got a sec you can spare for me?"

Hiding a Vinnie in a greenhouse - it really was the perfect camouflage.

That movement Mondo spotted was the Vinnie-plant rousing himself from a short nap. As much as he wanted to focus on academia right now, the actual process of slogging through textbooks still made the Venusaur terribly sleepy sometimes. Still, if he didn't put in the effort to excel in Pokemon Studies, he was sure it wouldn't go unnoticed - the class might've been considered a shoe-in subject, but the scrutiny for slacking was that much greater, too.

He was stretching out in the midst of a great big yawn when the biker approached. Mondo's presence was met with a quick blink - after all, it was a rare sight to see him in the greenhouse. The surprise didn't last long though. "Huh? Sure, whadya need?"
