Happy Spring, Smash Academy. What do you mean it's been spring for a few days? Whatever, it hasn't been properly rung in until now.

And so, without warning, at the strike of midnight, loud music begins to blare through the student dorms. It's loud and pounding and if you thought you could get any sleep tonight you were WRONG. It's probably even audible from all the way in the teachers' dorms. Should one step out of their room to investigate or complain, they will probably quickly notice that the halls are filled with a rainbow of flashing lights all over the place, fake smoke, and sparkles as far as the eye can see. Who are those shady figures leaning against the wall offering free glowsticks to anyone that comes near? Who cares?

Let's just leave it at The Hands getting very bored. Go ahead and try busting into the A/V room like that'll fix anything, but for the next hour or two, nobody's getting any sleep. Might as well make the most of it.

Blaze wanted to SLEEP, GOD DAMN IT. And blaring loud rave music wasn't helping there. She was going to shut up whoever was responsible for this, so help her.

If one happened by the AV room, they might have seen Blaze trying to break the door down. Would you help? Or stop her? Or try to make her dance?

Cyrus wasn't about to tolerate this sort of thing (for oh so many reasons) and had come to put an immediate stop to the blaring noise. Seeing someone else there at least ensured that this hadn't been some sort of mass planned event.

"Stand aside."

Blaze released the doorknob when she realized who that voice belonged to. Cyrus. Knuckles had warned her about him and asked her to keep an eye on him... If nothing else, perhaps this would give her a sense of what he was capable of.

She stepped back. "I suppose you have a plan to stop this," she said tersely.

It didn't take any words, just a snap of his fingers, and Gyarados lunged forward, swinging its tail around and gathering water as it did so--Aqua Tail.

And yet the strike did nothing. The door remained in place, and the music, if anything, seemed to get even louder.

Cyrus scoffed. "This is the work of some terrible force. We must not abandon our efforts. The wall may give..."

Blaze crossed her arms, scoffing as Gyarados attacked the door and did exactly squat. "Hitting it... Now why didn't I think of that?" she asked sarcastically.

"Gyarados is of greater strength than either of us. Certainly you are stronger, physically, than I--that much I can tell on sight. Yet you lack the power of a Gyarados. Or the precision, I presume, of a Weavile."

That accompanied the appearence of a black weasel, sickles for hands and a grand red crest crowning it. On a cue, it attacked the hinges of the door. Again, to no avail.

She shook her head at this display. All sound and fury, signifying nothing. "You're welcome to believe whatever you want. It seems right now, you and your superior Pokemon are no more useful than I am," she replied.

Her mocking tone was disgusting, but that didn't yield any visible reaction from him. "And yet this would not be known were it not for experimentation."

She was nowhere near done mocking you, Cyrus. But for now, the matter at hand. "Then instead of fighting hard, we should fight smart," she said. "We find whoever has the key to this room."

"That much was evident. However, the direct approach was required to rule it out." She was apparently denser than he'd initially believed.

She simply had no patience for him. When Knuckles left, keeping an eye on Cyrus became her responsibility. She was partially testing his patience and his limits, and partially dismayed that she even ended up in this situation with him in the first place.

"Do you know who would have the keys?" she asked tersely.

"The janitor, as well as the headmasters. Though neither of them are to be trusted, and may be behind this." He paused, gaze unfixing for a moment. "Their powers...truly something beyond this world...they must be studied..." And as quickly as he'd been distracted, he shook it off. "For a later date. I know not where the janitor is, so I advise we split up to seek him out."

Blaze's goal now was to keep an eye on Cyrus, but considering she also wanted to get some sleep, she decided to capitulate. It wasn't like there was anything he could do that was suspicious NOW of all times.

"Very well, I agree," she said. "Let's split up and see if we can find the janitor."

He nodded to his pokemon, who took off down opposite ends of the hallway. "I expect that, if the headmasters are truly the cause, simply locating the key will be fruitless. That said, it must be attempted."

Blaze sighed, face meeting palm. "I'll go this way. I don't think I can take much more of your sunny disposition," she scoffed, leaving Cyrus to his devices in a huff.

She was impatient and irrational. Best to work on his own.
