As a quiet Friday dawned on the school's campus, one could perhaps...feel it in the air. A creeping chill, a silent, barely-detectable indication that yes. Tonight would be the night.



By Saturday morning, the entire academy would be covered in snow.

BUT WAIT



That wasn't all--a large pine tree had made an appearance on the main quad, in desperate need of decoration.

Laax!" Sonny replied with a nod. It was just a 'Yes' to Rhy's observation, really. He'd noticed the similarity too, after all.

He switched back pretty quickly so they could keep talking like normal people. "That's what I normally look like! What about you? Oh, wait, I think you're a Human, right? So you can't change into anything different?"

Rhys's smile turned a little wistful. "That's exactly right. This is the only form I've ever known." Being acquainted with the laguz, he was familiar with the concept of people turning into animals and back again. He couldn't help but feel a little envious and wonder what it must be like to be as limber as a cat or as free as a hawk. Pokemon and other creatures foreign to his experience prior to Final Destination City were no different.

He snapped out of his brief reflection to remember that he was being slightly incorrect. "Oh! Of course, with this city's fair share of odd curses, I've been turned into an Ampharos before! I can't ordinarily do that, however."

"Oh! An Ampharos? That's neat! I've met a few ampharoses and they're really sweet Pokémon." he said with a nod. It seemed to fit Rhys very well!

"But being a Human is pretty great anyway. I enjoy it. I think I spend more time as a Human now than I do as a Snorlax. I don't have to eat 900lbs of food as a Human. And my hands are better for using the microwave and TV remote and stuff than my claws are."

Snorlax claws are balls for trying to cook some microwave popcorn then switch the common room TV to an appropriate channel.

One of those facts had Rhys astounded. "900lbs? Oh my goodness, I can barely eat just one of those!"

"Really? One pound!?"

Man. That was borderline starvation!

"I'm going to make you cookies."

Said completely resolutely. They were going to work on getting Rhys some meat on those bones of his.

"O-Oh! That's quite alright! I can't stomach sweets in abundance!" he admitted sheepishly, waving his gloved hands back and forth. "Not that I don't appreciate the thought of you making me cookies... I bet they're quite delicious."

"Really? Do they give you an upset stomach?" Because he really wouldn't want to give anyone an upset stomach.

"What about meatloaf? Do you like meatloaf?"

[gentlesaint]

"Oh... meatloaf is fine," he replied. "It's not my ultimate favorite food, but when it's cooked with all the right spices, it can be very enjoyable." It really seemed like Sonny was intent on cooking something up for him! Rhys couldn't help but feel the glow of his heart being touched.

[[ Hahaha, Rhys comment was number 888. Three snowmen! ]]

"Oh! Well, let's make this easy! What's your most favorite thing and I'll tell you if I know the recipe!"

Because Sonny's theory, you see, was that anyone who ate less than a pound of food a day just hadn't found the right food yet! He wanted to help.

"It's tough to pick a top favorite, but if I could think of anything off the tip of a hat... it might be cinnamon apples. They're so warm and juicy, not to mention sweet and fragrant," he replied fondly.

"Hmmm. Nope! I don't know that recipe! But I'll look for it online and see if I can make some for you! I like apples too, actually!"

He had spent many sunny afternoons underneath apple trees in Kanto, eating apples. And leaves. And grass. And... everything else.

"Warm apple cider is really food this time of year, too! And healthy."
