Relax on Angel Island! (It's not like we're going home to the robopocalypse or anything.)

What: A weekend on an Island filled with things.

Every so often, Knuckles would let a group of friends enjoy his Island home. Usually once a year in Summer. This year, he'd made it a slightly more open invitation in the hopes that he'd get to meet and befriend some new people.

So, come on through the warp ring! (They used to take a boat. But this is cheaper.)

Beach

The white sand beaches of Angel Island are especially remarkable for once having been beaches leading to an ocean of clouds as opposed to an ocean of salt water. However, oceanic life has reclaimed it's place here and you can find seashells, crabs, penguins and all manner of other fauna to poke at with sticks and gnaw on. Even some Pokémon who have migrated from the mainland.

The beach

as great

as she expected.

So many seashells, so little time. Not only that, but there are also so many cute and fuzzy creatures running around! She has to wonder how the penguins are faring in the hotter temperatures, but if they're here, then surely they've found a way to adapt.

For now, however, Isabelle resorts to plucking a few seashells from the ground, marveling in just how gorgeous and adorable they are. Seashells are special to her for more than one reason, really, and she's happy that Knuckles gave her permission to take a few home!

"Findin' plenty?" Knuckles asked, walking up toward her along the shore. "See that rocky outcrop over thattaway? You can usually find some cool ones there. Plus, all kinds of little critters living in the pools that get left behind when the tide gets low."

Re: Beach

Goombella just loved Angel Island's beaches, every time she got to come there. They were so clean and pristine it was amazing... She found herself standing on the shore, taking a deep breath of ocean air, letting the sun warm her.

"Hey, you." Knuckles said, walking up alongside her. "Ring for your thoughts?"

Furiae remembered the conversation of Knuckles's island, though she couldn't recall if she misplaced details about it that would have made the sight of it any more anticipated. But maybe, just maybe, an island that once floated in the air was allowed its mysteries and beauty that couldn't be imagined by the inexperienced. As far as Furiae knew herself, not quite having the chance to explore the Floating Fortress she had been captured in. You know. Reasons. Kinda stuck inside it.

There was a lot that Furiae did not have experiences in, and the beach - that was a new one altogether. She lived her free life in the castle she grew up in, and the surrounding lands were just - well, lands. Lands that she had loved nonetheless, but as she walked upon the shoreline with her feet dipping in with each step, Furiae's senses felt overloaded by all that she was met with.

Her mind wasn't full enough to be walking so far off, but just give her a second to take this all in. But maybe she can accidentally bump into a tiny cat Princess in this moment.

Furiae didn't arrive alone, however. Her brother had come, and then with him (and with her as well, in that case), a young man by the name of Kiyotaka Ishimaru. Yeah, so those dudes are somewhere near. Just saying.

"Glad to see you made it!" came a cheerful voice from behind her. "How you like it so far? You a beach person or a lake person?"

Because in his experience, most folks had a preference Lakes were generally smaller and had less waves and no salt which some people preferred. Some people, however, would rather play in the waves and didn't care about salt.

Jungle

Angel Island has some pretty swingin' jungles. Literally. Grab a vine and go soaring off into the air like Tarzan. (They move on their own. How does that even.... I vote magnets.) Run through some loop-de-loops if you can. Plenty of flowers to sniff and fruit to snack on.

There was a large, white saber prowling the jungles today. However, it seemed like iwas more curious than anything else. She went through the thickets, jumped from tree to tree, scurried playfully after whatever creatures where about and relaxed for naps amongst the jungle floral beds.

Yeah, this kitty was pretty happy.

Huh. That sure was a big Kitty. He wasn't sure, but he thought he'd seen it someplace before.... wait, was it that blue chick who could change into all kinds of stuff?

"Hey! Enjoyin' the jungle?"

Carnival

It's not always night time in the Carnival Night zone. Even this place is subject to things like the Earth orbiting the sun, you know. But the rides are all free and eerily well maintained despite it being deserted. You won't find any corn dog vendors or cotton candy here, but if you want to jump up and down on some red and white barrels for a while, this is the place to do it.

Chao Garden

Chao Garden. Every self respecting Island Owner has to have their own Chao garden. Feed the little buggers some fruit or rub them on a bunny and see what happens.

"Aww, who's a cute widdle polarizable aquatic elemental? Yes, YOU are!"

Guess who's found the Chao garden? Lucca's affinity for cute things had bushwhacked any other plans she'd had, and she's currently sitting in a cluster of Chao and small animals, some playing, some sleeping, some just staring off into space, with a whitish one in her arms going like this: ^_^

"Heh - looks like someone's found a bunch of new friends." Knuckles said, walking over and plopping a Chao down into the group surrounding his purple-haired pal. "You seem to have kind of a knack with 'em. You ever see the impromptu Chao garden at school?"

Huh. Knuckles didn't know this guy. Well, he'd left the invitation pretty ipen and that was kind of the point.

"Hey there, guy. How you doin'?" he said, walking over and extending a hand.

Ice Cap

Maybe you climbed some mountains to get here? Maybe you got shot out of one of Carnival Night's giant canons? But this is a great place to cool off after all that summer heat. Grab a snowboard, dodge those trees and beware those icicles.

Sandopolis

Or, maybe beating the heat isn't your style at all? Maybe you are a proud drinker of sunlight and you shun anything chilly. Sandopolis might just be the place for you. A small, but fiercely hot desert filled with the ruins of Echidna society. Beware sand traps and angry spirits, though.

Totally serious about that last part.

Lava Reef

For those who like it even hotter still? You may find this place to be a real treat. Bathe in some lava, or just find a nice hot rock to nap on. You really can't go wrong here. Unless you happen to run into one of those giant swingy Morningstar things anchored to the ground. Thattle leave a mark.

MAX

Max has somehow managed to get one of those giant swingy Morningstar things unanchored from the ground (blacksmith tools, bro).

Max is hoisting the giant swinging morningstar thing over his head. OH MAN, FEEL THE BURN. THIS IS A GREAT LEG WORKOUT.

It looks like... yeah Max looks to be planning on taking this back home.

Marble Garden

When Knuckles' best Bra, Ganondorf, asked if he could set up a Gerudo encampment on Angel Island? Knuckles was all too eager to agree. The ancient garden city made of marble seemed an ideal place for this to happen, with ample water and space to grow food. Knuckles visits often to teach the children the value of jumping around like a dork on springy mushrooms he brought from another area of the Island.

Botanic Base is a veritable vegetable haven. Get in touch with nature and enjoy the birdsong and fountains.

Hidden palace.

Knuckles old homestead. Home to the original chaos altar and ancient Echidna teleporters. Not to mention Echidna tapestries that predict the future.

Here he was.

The hidden palace. It was a scenic journey on its own, what with the beauty of the island surrounding them, but once he reaches the area with Knuckles, he is sure that his breath is stolen away. Cascading waterfalls and glittering walls decorate the place around him, looking far more modern than he had expected while still maintaining an ancient ambiance.

There is no denying that this place is related to the Chaos Emeralds. The presence of intense residual Chaos Energy is enough to tell him that.

Shadow moves carefully, every step, every breath taken as if their force would be enough to crumble the foundation.

"... So this is it."

"Here we go." he said, helping her up the last flight of stairs into about the only place in the Palace where there was any sunlight. It was pretty high up and shaded from view from outside by overgrown, rocky mountainside... but that was why it was called the Hidden palace.

"We can have our picnic up here and enjoy the view." he said, setting down the basket.
