Of course. Byrne had a sneaking suspicion that it would happen, but he had acted on impulse, having no other way at the moment. That savage grin on the mole's face just sent a slight chill through Byrne's spine. He was going to die if he didn't do something.

Byrne was able to sidestep out of the way of his opponent's lunge. Would he be a coward if he ran? Perhaps. As big of a coward as he was when he left Hyrule. But ah... this wasn't fair. This wasn't his body. He hadn't spent over a century training himself in this form.

Quickly, he burrowed himself into the ground, furiously digging through dirt in an effort to scramble away. Coward. What a coward he was. And the other could probably catch up if he was good enough.

Just digging underground wasn't enough for him- he wanted to make damn well sure he was gone and out. That's why he dove straight after him to give him a final chomp at his heels to remind him never to trespass around here again- though he wound up getting a healthy lump of dirt and rocks lodged in his maw instead. Retracting, he began hacking it up in wet clumps.

That didn't go so well.

Byrne was too busy frantically escaping to witness the hilarious spectacle of his opponent hacking in clumps. But he could tell that he narrowly evaded one last swipe.

Still, he didn't stop moving for a while. His damned cowardice had taken hold of him once more and he kept moving, dirt finding its way in between his claws, in the cuticles. Had he been humanoid, this would have been considerably more difficult, but as it was he was relying purely on instinct. Sometimes it was easier, really.

Yeah, time to let him scram with his life intact. Triumphant despite the humiliating outcome of his attempted chase, he proudly returned to his own tunnels to get back to this Sanctuary guarding business. Oh yeah, he was an UNSTOPPABLE FORCE.

...and hungry. Damn, what a metabolism he had. Maybe he should go out hunting for prey, first...

And thus, our gripping tale of two moles comes to a close.
