loverofinnocence: (furiae → akin to siblings)

Her presence helped, whether he outwardly showed it or not. But then it usually did. For a man so independent, there certainly was a degree of reliability that Furiae had demonstrated to him time and time again. Yes, once upon a time she had left - disappeared, more or less - and he had found himself distraught and apathetic. At least to begin with, but standing as the man of action he so often was, he'd not allowed that to get the better of him.

With no need to rush off elsewhere, Caim often found himself with a good deal of free time, and unsure of what to do with it. Chaperoning for the year's prom had been less involuntary and more of something for him to waste his hours and minutes away with. So far, it hadn't been unpleasant. Nothing for him to outright do - no fights to break up or pupils to discipline. But he was almost more relieved that it wasn't extravagantly lively.

And there was good conversation to be had.

When she addressed him, he'd been thinking, about a variety of different things. His alliances - friends - and the newer people he'd met. Chiyo, for one. She was an interesting young lady. Well, provided he could even call her a 'lady.' For the sake of ease, he supposed there was very little point in trying to be technical.

Looking over to Furiae, his eyebrows raised. If she'd not gotten the drinks already, he would have been the one to get them instead. Consequently, his expression relaxed when he accepted the one she offered and with his free hand, he reached over and affectionately ruffled her hair.

Thank you. But he was pretty sure that was pretty obvious in the way he looked at her.
