Druids Do It Naturally
Who: Gordon, Ellistree
What: Hiking and Camping
Where: Mountain foothills north of the Academy
When: After spring thaw.
Warnings: Rain, nudity, rain, weird wildlife, rain, fireside nookie, rain...
[Text to Ellistree, mid-March]
Trip to Parallax Lake, weekend after next?
[Action]
The further on the winter wore, the more Gordon found himself looking forward to that trip off campus and into the woods. He'd perused maps and found a lake in the foothills of the mountains northeast of the school. Scraping together the equipment was a simple matter of a trip or two to the city, and the next weekend he was ready to go and waiting for his blue-hued companion outside the Main Building.

She waited a few moments before prowling her way towards Gordon. Once she was close enough though, she took a nice, deep breath and let out a loud yet playful roar, coming out of the shadows in turn.

The man backpedals and produces a pistol from his side with surprising speed. (OF COURSE HE'S ARMED, WHY WOULDN'T HE BE?) Several months working alongside pokemon of several shapes and sizes has made him realize that not all toothy quadrupeds automatically want to kill him, but it's a notion that's quick to revive when something sneaks up on him.

It's in mid-stride that the large cat shifts into a more familiar form, one that is sporting a rather smug and amused smile.
"Nice reflexes Mr. Gordon."
no subject
He lowers his pistol and raises his eyebrows. "Ellistree? I... how did you, what... okay just, do me a favor and don't sneak up on me again." He splutters as he holsters the weapons again, though the command comes through a smirk now that he's recognized her.

"Can't say I can promise that though, I tend to love playing around just a bit too much, especially for my age. I guess it's just nature's spontaneous ways well inside of me."
no subject
He shifts his own belongings.
"Ready to go? It's a good few hours hike, but if we start we can reach it by noon."
no subject
She nodded, starting the trek herself. "Always ready~"

Some parts of the forest are cut by trails, not entirely muddy but not exactly dry either. Gordon clings loosely to those paths, especially when the terrain starts to get hilly and the easiest way through happens to be exactly the most traveled.
"So you can change your shape..." He adds after a long while of companionable silence. "And fly. I guess that means you can turn into a bird as well as a cat, right?"
It's UTTERLY RIDICULOUS, and yet the most reasonable connection he can make.
no subject
"Mmmmhm~ I can. It's part of being connected and being one with nature as a druid. I have various forms that have been granted to me and I have earned."

She paused and laughed as she continued. "I can also shift into a storm crow or a treant." The latter was mainly used for healing. "Oh and I can turn into a predatory sea mammal if I need to go for a swim~"

"Nature provides me with the means to heal, regrow and regenerates. Given enough time I could regrow your limbs or damaged bones and such with natural magics." She could even resurrect but that added the thoughts that she'd need to here and she didn't want to think of anyone dying...

Sooner or later he grows tired of his relative crawl along the ground, and over the next few minutes, if she's paying attention, he begins to climb after her over the dark crags chasing the hills. While he has no where near her level of adroitness, he's surprisingly comfortable with heights and not as clumsy as he'd made himself seem down there on the path...
no subject
"How ya faring hm?" she asked teasingly.
no subject
"You sure you're not part cat or something?"
no subject
Which technically was still very true. Not only was she a halfbreed, being a druid also allowed her a much deeper connection with many aspects of nature.

The woods in the early spring are abundant with small fuzzy forms that skitter out when they think no one is looking. Everything from red squirrels, hungry and lean from hibernation, to predatory alien bugs looking to feed on those squirrels, to feral pokemon that are just starting to shed their winter coats (and in some cases, sprout new leaves and flowers.)
Gordon wades through a cluster of budding brambles and plucks a small black fuzzy off his clothes where it'd been hitchhiking. It MEYYORKS and squirms in protest before he tosses it over his shoulder.
"Weird-ass wildlife here... Hm, I think that's the lake up there." He gestures to a sliver of grey-blue between the tree trunks.

At the mention of a lake however, she brightened up and looked over the direction he pointed at.
"Oh really?! It's such a nice day for a dip too! Don't be late now Mr. Gordon!" she said as she hurried off towards the lake.
Along the trail one might find scattered pieces of her clothing as she had shed them while running. Finally, her backpack lay at the edge of the lake and Ellistree was nowhere to be found for a few moments until she burst from the water's surface, whipping her long hair back as water flew everywhere.
no subject
He stops and picks up a rather large, lacy bra from the grassy floor.
"...cold?"
He gathers up what clothing he notices on his hurried pace down the slope after her, and ambles onto the grass just as she bursts from the lake like a larger-than-life water nymph.
"..." Everything he's carrying hits the ground in a single mass. Pardon the man if he stares for a moment.
no subject
Of course it might have been that way to someone like her who was used to extreme temperatures like Northrend and the Firelands.
no subject
It's mid march! That water's probably freezing cold! She may bear every resemblance to a sexy frost giant, that's bordering on dangerous for a human! He'd have to be an idiot to go in after her!
...
He hits the water with a heavy splash, his glasses and all his clothes save for his shorts left on the bank. One bubble surfaces, two, then--
"--OH JEEZUS, THAT'S COLD!" He feels obligated to declare at the TOP OF HIS LUNGS the moment he surfaces. Mostly to make sure his lungs still work.
no subject
"Aww, it's not too bad now is it?" she mused before letting herself float a bit back and away from him.
"It just takes a bit to get used to at the beginning."
no subject
"No, no it's... only slightly hypothermic. I can handle this..." He replies breathlessly. He just has to stay moving.
no subject
Which it did! The water wasn't so cold anymore and Ellistree winked. "Changing forms isn't all a druid can do you know." Though she would have loved to have a shaman around right now! They could have made the lake into a large hot tub by asking the elements!
