Mistletoe couldn't get you if you spent most of your time outside.
And it was that time spent outside that led to Flynn finally finding the gold of Smash Academy: the stadium. Unused and therefore set to default, it was a circular arena that reminded the Scizor somewhat of the competitions that Lyra had participated in. Mostly, the ones involving looking "cute" or "cool"... but there were no judges or crowds or people on this early morning that Flynn had ventured into it, and so it was much more comfortable to her than they had ever been.
None of the mistletoe plant had been spotted either, something that Flynn was careful not to let her guard down about. It was just peaceful, or at least it seemed so as she looked around the open space. There were doors that led off to places, Flynn didn't know where, and so somebody already could have been present - nonetheless, she didn't care about what ifs, and instead saw an opportunity in the large space to perhaps do some training. Exploring, if she felt like it, could come later.
First came the warm-ups, rolling her shoulders and stretching out her arms and pincers. She flexed her body, lifted up her legs, and increased her movements and changed her actions as the minutes added up. She had a system, a work-out that she would abide by before any time that she trained. Ending a session short through carelessness was not a favourable conclusion for her, and only made her feel moody than accomplished. Flynn knew not to skirt it.
What came after a warm-up depended on Flynn's mood. It could anything, mostly whatever she thought needed attention at that time, and she questioned it then to herself after she'd finished her beginning activity. Well, she had no targets she could practice on, but she had a lot of space...
Running it was. She was a Scyther no more, but she knew of the endurance and edge it would give her. Strength didn't only come in power, but by understanding the limits of the body and bettering them. She would always be carrying the weight of her choice to become a Scizor, but she refused to ever buckle under the strain.
so yeah there's a Scizor just running laps in the stadium.

With the fall of the first snow that made way for more snow throughout the month, most people would avoid the cold at all costs. Ondrea was not one of those people. Being a fire-type, the cold was extremely ineffective to her no matter which form she took. Which meant her training, as always, would continue undeterred. Today was no exception, and so there she was, bright and early as always (unless she had a class).
When she entered the stadium in her natural form, she was quite surprised to see someone else her running laps. Her surprise only grew greater once she got a good look at the Pokemon. Was...was that the Scizor she knew? Perhaps. There was only one way to find out, so the Blaziken approached Flynn and called out to her.
"It's nice to see someone else take advantage of this stadium, especially during a time like this."

A Blaziken - Flynn had seen one before in battle, though she had never gone up against one herself. A reason she knew why, but that didn't mean she wouldn't ever go up against one if given the chance.
Though that wasn't exactly the thought on her mind right away, but the presence of a Blaziken did intrigue Flynn. They were strong Pokemon, after all.
With the Blaziken approaching specifically towards her, Flynn decided to slow down until she had stopped, and then turned herself to face the other Pokemon. For what she said... Flynn didn't answer straight away. She had no real answer, and didn't know what sort of answer to give. Small talk, or the sort like it - Flynn was never good at the stuff.
"...Yes."
But she tried, speaking out loudly enough for the Blaziken to hear her.

"Do you recognize me in this form?"

But Ondrea's question delayed it. And then encouraged it, by speaking as if she might know her. Flynn already knew she didn't recognise her, though she did look her up and down nonetheless. Certainly though, she hadn't been deaf to the "this form" part of her question.
"No," she finally responded, without too much of a delay. Flynn looked back up to the Blaziken's face, awaiting for her to explain.
no subject
Hopefully she does, otherwise this was going to get extremely frustrating. Ondrea was in no mood to go into great detail about such a thing.

"Yes." She lifted up a closed pincer, now knowing what was going on. "Humani...sation. I understand." That was how it was referred to, wasn't it?
Her trainer had told her about it, offering the option to the whole of the team. Flynn hadn't taken it, not seeing why she would want a human form when she was proud of being a Scizor. Yet, over time, she had perhaps been thinking about it differently... maybe.
While she hadn't openly thanked the woman in words, Flynn had been grateful for being freed. It was a surprise to find out that the same woman was actually a Blaziken. If she had known, maybe she would have requested a fight.
Though right now, she felt like, for someone who had assisted her, maybe deserved a few more words. With the pincer already lifted, she pointed it upwards.
"No mistletoe here. It is quiet." And then, remembering what Ondrea had said when she had come in- "Did you come to train."
no subject
"I have. I spend quite a bit of my time in this stadium. A single day does not pass without me spending at least two hours working on my training."
That earned a pause, however. Idly, Ondrea wondered if Flynn was in the sparring mode. It had been a while since her last one...

Seeing a Blaziken train, or even being able to train with one - the idea compelled her and her attention was fully grabbed. Her claws opened up slightly.
"I want to train as well," Flynn admitted. Maybe a hint of eagerness in her voice was obvious when she asked, "We can train together."
no subject
Speaking of which...the idea was interesting. Training with another person was a rare pleasure for the bird to indulge in. To say the offer was tempting would be an obvious understatement, if the slight gleam in her eyes was any indication.
"I see no faults with this idea." oh...if only her beak was capable of smirking. "What do you wish to do first?"
no subject
"Fight," was the reply she finally gave. It was a simple one, but for the Scizor, it seemed like the most engaging for two people wanting to train together. However, she continued.
"Fight until we stop... or want to stop." Flynn paused, another thought in her mind. "Or do what you do. Your training. Or both."
no subject
Just the very thought of a battle with a worthy adversary got her adrenaline pumping. Ondrea straightened out her back and folded her arms, giving her fellow Pokemon a curt nod. "I am fine with fighting you."
no subject
But the Scizor didn't fully expect a surprise attack from this one. The other one, maybe she should've with the hostility right from the start, but Flynn realised it had been her own folly for being careless. Flynn lowered her pincers, and a curt nod was given in return to Ondrea.
"Good. We fight." Momentarily, she looked away to the center of the stadium, to which she pointed out to before looking back.
"We will ready and begin."
Despite the few rouge fights she had been having, Flynn was still a captured Pokemon who had become accustomed to some sort of start.
