To town, to town [Open! So, so open]
Who: X and you! Yes, you!
When: 11/17 - 18, any time.
Where: School in the early morning / super late at night, out and about in FDC the rest of the time.
What: LITTLE ROBOT ALONE IN THE BIG CITY, OH NOES. (Or just...putzing around in his room preparing to go / just got home. Either way)
Warnings: None! <3 (but if any come up, I'll update you)
Living in a new place was a strange, but wonderful thing. There were new experiences to be had, people to meet, and all sorts of things to do as one adjusted to being in a place that wasn't what they normally considered 'home'. There was the element of 'finding oneself', to see what one was like outside the confines of safety and left to their lonesome...
And there was exploring said place. Admittedly, something X hadn't taken the time to really do since he'd arrived. Oh, he'd searched the school, poking his nose into every nook and cranny he felt appropriate to explore.
But outside the town? Not...so much.
Well, this weekend was the time. His homework and studies were done (all due assignments sitting in a neat stack on his desk), he had no prior engagements...
Time to paint the town blue!

Time to paint the town blue!

11/17 - noon
It was noon, time for a break.
Garry went to a cafe for some tea...And to purchase a couple macaroons. Shut up, it was his weakness. As he left, tea in a to go coffee cup, he noticed X. What was he doing out and about. Errands?
He wanted to get his attention though, X wasn't just his student. But good company.
"Hello there, X!"
Wave!

It was similar in its energy and size, and yet the look of the place varied to varying degrees from the sleek steel and towering spires he was used to. On one hand, it was exciting and there was so much for him to see, and yet on the other, it made him miss home (and fiddle with the tassels of his robin's egg hoodie).
Though before his mind could think on other times, a familiar voice caught his attention.
X's face broke into a smile and waved back, walking towards the source.
"Mr. Garry! Hello!"
no subject
He moved on over to him.
"But what has you out here? If you don't mind me asking anyway. Shopping?"
Garry that was just YOU.
no subject
Still, X had to admit that it felt simultaneously strange and nice to be able to drop the honorific. Old habits died hard, though.
X flashed the medium sized white shopping bag (which seemed to conceal several smaller bags) he had in his hand with a sheepish smile.
"Guilty as charged." He laughed. "Though it didn't start out that way. I came here just wanting to see the city, and...well. There were so many places to go that I had to pick up a few things."
no subject
"Habit of the season too," Garry shown him his own white bag.
"Christmas is so close by now it's infectious to get into the spirit."
Even as they speak, people are flooding in and out of stores with bags and bags of stuff. And you could hear some holiday music playing as the doors open.

Either way, there was something magical about it, moreso than any other human holiday he'd taken part in.
"It's always nice to see so many people getting into it," X said. "It's like...this one time of year, everyone does their best to be kind to each other."
And, admittedly, it was fun getting gifts for people and seeing their reactions when they opened them. X already managed to get gifts for his Other Self, Garry, and Shadow, but there were so many other people he wanted to get gifts for!
Kieran, Miss Chihiro, Lyra...and of course there was Dr. Cain and the people he knew back home...

"It's the best part about the holiday really," Garry said with a smile, feeling sappy.
"You can practically smell the holiday joy...Aha, that and the cookies that came from the cafe I was just in."

At least, X thought so. Eating with friends, smiling, laughter, and celebrating just another moment of peace, or simply being in this world. So many didn't even have that, so it was important to cherish every moment as though it was a blessing.
Wait. Being in this--
Oh!
"Oh, I almost forgot." X dug one hand in the white shopping back, fishing around in the white bag for something. Something very specific...
Until he pulled out a small white box, handing it to Garry.
"I didn't get a chance to wrap it, but...Happy Birthday."
It had taken forever for him to pick just the right thing, but the silver paintbrush pin spoke to him within moments of laying his eyes on it. He couldn't pass it up.

Garry was taken aback. His eyes went wide and he had a shocked expression?
Did...he really just get a gift? X remembered it was his birthday a few days ago?
"A-ah..."
He was touched but...no, he has to accept something like this. It was a kind thing to do.
"You didn't have to do that X..."
And yet Garry then smiled, obviously touched.
He gently took the box from his hands. Oh man should he...open it here?
no subject
Though the sight of his teacher's smile couldn't help but warm his heart. It was always the best feeling to give someone something (or just do something in general) that made them happy.
"I just hope you like it."
no subject
He calmly opened the box despite his childish excitement.
Oh.
He looked at the shining silver pin and felt his heart grow a few more sizes.
"...Oh."
Garry smiled warmly at the pin, then at X.
His eyes smiled alongside his face. "I love it. It's perfect. Thank you X."
no subject
"I'm glad. I couldn't pass it up when I found it," he said. "It just...well, it seemed to 'call your name', I guess is the way to put it."
11/18 - Afternoon
"Blue person." It was his best of trying to get the other's attention.
no subject
Hey, wasn't that the boy he talked to over the network? What was he doing in town?
X swallowed his pastry down and gave him a wave.
"It's okay, you can call me X."
Though he supposed it wasn't surprising that he'd be called that; X didn't exactly wear many other colors, did he? Even now, in his baggy blue sweatshirt (with a tighter long-sleeved blue shirt under it), blue jeans, and blue-and-white converse sneakers (with blue socks, even), "blue person" was a quite appropriate nickname.
no subject
He gave a pause then, staring at all the blue the other was wearing. He gave his head a scratch before he asked,
"Is your favorite color blue."
He miiight have asked this question before, but Sig's mind was a little too simple to remember one conversation.
no subject
Still, it was...rather cute.
"Yeah. I've just always been drawn to the color for some reason. I can't explain why."
Maybe the fact that his birth armor was blue had something to do with it.
no subject
That was good enough reason for Sig, at least. Nevertheless, X was quickly becoming one of his favorite person to talk to!
