Who: Vinnie, Voile
When: 10/14 - Early Afternoon ~ Whenever
Where: This meadow by the mountain trail. Toni and I are makin' up places.
What: It's not a date, but it's a date, but neither of them knows it's a date.Vinnie's bringing food; it's totally a date.
Warnings: ...Fluff? I bet there's fluff in here.
It had taken her long enough to figure out what to bring. He had already decided he was bringing food and drink. What else could she bring?
Voile finally decided on a parasol. Yes, it was fall, but in the event that the sun got too brazen, she thought it would be a nice gesture. Along with it, she also brought a fleece blanket. She couldn't see them constantly walking around and she thought Vinnie wasn't the sort to despise just sitting and enjoying the environment.
She did wonder idly what they'd talk about, though. She was more interested in things he'd have to say, but he didn't seem the talkative kind either...
Decked in something a little more seasonal, she waited patiently for the venusaur outside at the very start of the trail that would eventually lead to the meadow he spoke of. With the blanket over her right arm, and parasol held above her in her left hand, she felt immensely patient. Or more patient than she'd imagined she would be.
And she hoped Vinnie wouldn't forget.

Vinnie blinked, looking her up and down and was that a parasol? Bemusedly, he could only offer, "Hey. You look..." like you went to more effort to look nice this one day than he'd ever put toward anything this entire year, "really nice."
The Venusaur may not have known what to make of it, but he did appreciate the gesture. He could only hope, however, that Voile's shoes were the sensible walking kind.

No. Her health was important. And it was a bonus if he thought she looked nice, because she thought she was rather plain.
After a moment, she smiled and nodded appreciatively. "Thank you." Fortunately, her shoes were supportive boots. Like if Mary Janes had been boots instead. Vinnie might have thought she was stylish or too over dressed, but again, it seemed second nature. Likely a consequence of being a contest pokemon.
"Are you all ready? We can go whenever you'd like to."

On the other hand, it meant that pretty much everything in Voile's wardrobe would've looked fancy to him. The trail was also a gentle incline for the most part, so probably no trouble even with a longer dress.
"Yeah, I'm good," he grinned. Glancing at the blanket in her arm, Vinnie added, "There's a meadow 'bout 10 minutes away from her that we can take a sit in."

Except when it came to being a gardevoir, she imagined it wasn't possible to entirely do away with hiding one's feelings. Voile still didn't quite understand why she was given the empathic ability or how it truly worked, but when she gave it too much thought, many things suddenly became very confusing.
"That sounds wonderful!" she piped up, unable to disguise the cheer in her voice. "I don't... really know my way around this area, however. I hope you don't mind that I'll probably be following you a good portion of the time." And she doubted he would, but she also considered that Vinnie was probably the type of guy who would have preferred her at his side than to the back of him.

Giving the Gardevoir a nod, he affirmed, "I'm good with it. Just lemme know if you need me t'slow down, yeah?" Perhaps walking side by side facilitated conversation better, but (and perhaps Voile could sense this) there was a certain wistfulness that this gave him. Whether it was the memory of walking single file to conceal their numbers, or to better wade through three feet of snow... or a greater longing to be a protector and parent than a partner. Showing others the way was part of his job - he liked it, in those instances where Vinnie actually knew what he was doing.
And in this case, thankfully, he had a very good sense of direction. The trek would not be long, so he could only hope Voile could appreciate the sights in lieu of offering her many words.

Idly she found herself wondering if 'Vinnie' was short for something akin to 'Vincent.' She could see him being one. A handsome name for a handsome young man. And he was older than her, she assumed. But it was in that category of questions she'd never asked. To a degree, there was no reason for her to. There was a difference between being curious and being nosy.
And Voile liked believing her curiosity was a part of her charm.
"It's kind of you to say such," she started. "I can keep up with you. You shouldn't underestimate me too much. It's possible I may act a little more fragile than I actually am." Except she knew she didn't act fragile at all. And she knew he knew that as well.
