Who: Rhys and you!
What: Office log! ...Can also be called "help nurse" log.
When: Dates of 10/21 - 10/28 but you can also go for something earlier/later than that if convenient
Where: Infirmary or Rhys’s office, which is just inside the infirmary.
Warnings: THERE COULD BE CARNAGE AND PESTILENCE HERE. There may also be tripping out due to candy drugs.

We're all familiar with office logs around here, right? If you're not, then allow me to explain really quickly: Your dude stops in for any reason whatsoever, be it trouble with grades, asking permission for something, stopping to chat, dropping off a form, and other office-like concerns. Or even miscellaneous concerns. Then we'll take it away from there. Rhys is a bit of a special case, since he runs the infirmary. That means you could also drag yourself in with some kind of unbearable ailment or crippling injury and have Rhys get you treated. Have a status condition? Never fear, solutions are here! Got in a fight with your arch nemesis in the locker room? Bleed no more; there’s plenty of bandages and/or heal staves to go around! Usually.

ANOTHER THING I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE: Is your character hopped up on drugs? Drop them in! I don’t care what reason they would have to stumble in. I just want Rhys to have to deal with druggies and raise his suspicion about the whole drug deal further. That being said, I request at least one of his patients to be under the influence. That is all! Have fun.

"What..." Soon, Blaze started to become more and more aware, and when he mentioned how he found her...

She sat up with a start. "Sonic...!" She immediately regretted it, though, as the pain in her head punished her and forced her to lie back down, grumbling. "How long have I been out...?"

"Oh, careful, careful- I found you late last evening and took you in, and you woke up the next morning," he told her while holding up his hands as a sign to chill out. "So you were out all night." It was a great solace to him that Blaze didn't show any really obvious signs of brain damage. But her outburst of something like... 'Sonic' was peculiar, so he chose to question her on it. "And... 'Sonic'? What was that about?"

"I see..." Blaze heard him ask her the question. She thought back to what happened. Sonic had been turned into a monster... Eggman forced him to attack her, and--

Blaze quickly patted down her coat. Her eyes widened when she realized what had happened. "It's gone...!" she mouthed quietly. Eggman must have...

She gritted her teeth in anger. She started to get warm, bits of flame licking up from her. That fat monster... Using her friend to do his dirty work...

The flames took him by surprise and he stepped back for fear of the incendiaries growing larger and consuming everything within reach. He'd seen people burn with fury before, but not quite so literally! Then again, barring angry mages who specialize in fire spells, but that was another story altogether. This was quite different.

"Uh, what's gone?" he stammered. "M-maybe I could... find it!"

Blaze realized quickly that she was scaring Rhys, and calmed herself down, getting her flames under control. The embers flickered out completely, and she took a deep breath. "My Sol Emerald... Eggman must have taken it," she explained.

"Eggman?" Ah, yes, that teacher sure did have a history with hatching nefarious schemes at this school... Unfortunately, he wouldn't put it past him to do something like steal. Even Rhys knew that. "What reason would he have to take it?"

"The Sol Emeralds are very powerful objects... He's obsessed with obtaining power. What other reason does he need?" she asked.

"Oh. That's worrisome," said Rhys with a face to match. "You said the Sol Emeralds were powerful objects. What sort of power to they possess?"

"They're the life force of my world... Their flames cause destruction and give life. Even I don't know what their limits are."

Rhys's eyes widened. "That is... far more power than anyone should have control of." Much less someone like Eggman. The priest feared what could be in store for the school if he made some kind of power grab with the Sol Emerald, or something else his imagination could provide about such a future scenario. "Someone must stop him!"

A second after, he added, "...But not you! You still need to recuperate from your injuries. We'll just have to find someone else."

"I can't just... stay here..." She was still feeling weak, and as she tried to sit up she ended up falling back to the bed, cursing her own weakness.

"But you must!" interjected Rhys as he hastily prepared to stop her in case she tried bolting off, even though she had just... lit herself on fire only seconds ago. "You'll only hurt yourself worse..."

Blaze finally sighed and sat back in the bed, hands crossed in her lap. "How long do I need to stay here...?"

"Until you're well enough." The healer frowned, looking tired and defeated by emotions. The energy put into getting riled up deflated and sagged. "I understand the feeling of helplessness better than I wish I did. It's a horrible way to be, limited by factors that are out of control's reach. The guilt is almost unbearable at times. But... if you strain yourself to the breaking point all over again, the friends who will help fight alongside you will be impacted by their loss- your loss. I'm sure they care about your condition very much and wouldn't want you to hurt yourself senselessly. Am I wrong?"

Blaze didn't seem so much convinced by his logic as defeated. She sighed. "I don't know," she answered. She didn't have the kind of ego or vanity to think that those she knew would be severely impacted by her loss. But she had to accept that he was right. She was of no use to anyone like this.

"Thank you."

Rhys felt a fixed pang of remorse for her circumstance that wouldn't lighten up. He could sense her will smoldering into ashes of its former verve and wished he had more he could say that would genuinely cheer her up. If she was going to lose optimism, why, he would summon his back. Losing hope never helped anyone.

"But worry not! I'll take care of you to the best of my ability. By the end of the day, we'll see if you're in fit enough shape."

She nodded. "I appreciate your efforts," she told him.
