It's that time again, where the school's impressive auditorium is filled with rows and rows of folding chairs, and prospective buyers take a seat while those waiting to be sold line up on the stage. At the podium, there is Seth Richardson; looking both thrilled and not thrilled to be here.

"Welcome, everyone to our Student-Faculty Auction! As you may or may not know, Host Club has invested a fair share of funding into this event to make it as wonderful as it should be. You should thank everyone in Host Club for all their hard work."

Yes, it had taken a rather large exertion on his part, and yes he was sure he could think of better things to do but, if all went well, his investment would see, ahem, some return in his own pocket.

Not that anyone needed to know that.

"Let's get started, shall we?"


[[APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY FOLKS. At this and pretty much everything this event. We'll use this experience and future-date things a week in advance next time. There are some RULES TO THIS AUCTION so PLEASE READ:

• Help us and your fellow players out by also commenting in the TITLE with your BIDDING AMOUNT.
  
• Try be IC with character's money amounts... or lack thereof. We are pretty flexible and want you to have fun and you are allowed creative work-arounds; lying and loan sharks and playing out the subsequent consequences of those sorts of things are excellent options I fully endorse.
  
• One purchase per person. Bidding on multiple people is very encouraged, but you will only walk out of here with one.
  
• People in the auctions are allowed to bid on other people in the auctions.
  
• Auctioned people can come with a highly recommended Crazy Hand brand obedience collar™. These will be optional OOC, but if you utilize them they will be mandatory IC.
  
• If you don't see a thread for your character and you want in, don't hesitate to make one for yourself! If you see a thread for your character and you want out, don't comment or (preferably) leave a note and we can delete no problem.
  
• We'll try to help you as far as clarifying who wins who, but this will primarily be left up to player discretion. Use of ((OOC NOTES)) is highly recommended as RNG will not be involved. Unless. You want it to.

Two million was his limit. That and what he had on hand at the moment, only about eight hundred dollars. As important as this was, he couldn't run the risk of bankrupting Team Galactic over some information. There would be other ways of obtaining it.

But he wouldn't give up. He would fight to the last.

"Two million, eight hundred dollars."

That was his final bid.

It was at this point that Majima actually stood up to stare down the man that'd been waging this bidding war with him. He had a gleaming, twisted look in his eyes and... actually, their skin complexions were both pretty similar.

"Guess what, numbnuts? It doesn't matter how much ya bid, I can beat ya. The money's goin' to the school, and the school's gonna spend it on construction. And guess who they go to? ME.

"Eitherrr way that money's goin' in my pocket. I can do this all day - an' you can't. That's checkmate fer ya, dumbass~!

"Two million, eight hundred and one cent."

Majima grinned like a demon, just daring Cyrus to try and challenge him.

If it hadn't been for the man's grandstanding behavior, Cyrus would have quietly accepted this. He had set a limit and would hold to it.

As it was, he appeared to quietly accept it, taking his seat without a word, but inside his mind was churning, trying to plot revenge without seeming to do so.

No, that was petty, wasn't it? That was something beneath him.

And yet he continued to do so.

Welcome to the big league crime organizations. Majima smiled venomously at him, practically oozing superiority before taking his seat again.

You're welcome to try for payback. Better men have tried - and by better, he of course meant much, much worse.

She wanted to believe that Majima was bluffing, but she was having a hard time convincing herself otherwise. And that was the most terrible thing.

There were truly no words, but she looked as if her head was about to explode.

No...he absolutely could have. Arceus was a rotten god, a force of its own undoing. Of course it would lower itself to such depths.
