Open armory log 1
Who:
thoserookieeyes and
smash_network
What: Weapon lending, gawking, and shenanigans
Where: The armory
When: 12/9 to 12/23
Warnings: Talk about weapons, not much else for now.
[Ever since she got here, Meryl has done nothing but worry. There's a murderer on the loose, and here she is, handing out weapons like they were candy. God, if this wasn't her job, she'd ask what folks were thinking.]
[Still, at least it seems to be good company so far. Complications aside, things just may be okay.]
[As one walks into the room, they can see the shelves upon shelves of the warehouse-like armory lined up with things many of them may not even recognize. While there is some sort of sense of order, given how the weapons are arranged by type, intimidating might be underestimating it for some characters.]
[The armsmaster herself is most likely sitting behind a workbench, working diligently at cleaning everything that was donated in less then perfect condition.]

[He cautiously enters the room and clears his throat.] Anybody here?
no subject
Hello, can I help you with anything? [She was trying her best to be friendly, especially since this guy looked serious. Who knows what would happen if she made a bad first impression?]
no subject
Tell me about what you've got here.
no subject
[Dear Frank; be more specific next time. Thank you.]
Most everything's divided up neatly. The hand-to-hand weapons are on the left end, and the heavy explosives are on the other. In between that, you've got your swords, your bats, then your bows, guns, and everything in between that. They had to account for a lot of places and customs here.]

Thanks. Mind if I browse?

I doubt that this room's just here to look cool. Go right ahead.

Well, it would seem like someone is compensating for something...When she sees what he's going for, she tries to intervene.]Do you need help with that? I'm not sure any normal human could even hold those things.

Just let me know if you need me to help, okay?
no subject
I will. Thank you.

[Slippy stepped inside with a super scope in his arms.]

/assuming they've met offscreen, if he's returning things
[She points to a desk and walks over to it, before preparing a ledger.]
You're Slippy, right?
/Let's go with that.
The trigger kinda jammed when I used it so I had to look at it.
no subject
The trigger jammed? That's odd? These should be a lot more reliable then that...
[She starts disarming it and looking at the firing mechanisms.]

Did you remember to turn the safety off first?
In which Helena pretends to know about weapons
[He huffs.]
I looked at the ammo, the barrel reinforcement wire and the stock too and couldn't find anything wrong.
In which Nala pretends to be an expert via excessive googling.
Everything looks about fine, I don't know what could- oh, who the hell did this?
[She takes out a small, pointed part and puts it to the side.]
The firing pin for this is way too large- it's hard to tell looking at the individual pieces, but there's not enough room on in gun for it to even move. Even if you had managed to pull the trigger, the thing wouldn't budge.
Google is Glorious
[He feels kind of dumb now that he overlooked that detail even if it is a small one.]
Do we have any extra firing pins in stock?
Re: Google is Glorious
Oh yea, it can be fixed easily. If you still want to practice with this though, I'm going to have to ask you to check out one that came from another manufacturing lot. They should be identical, Apart from the fact that they work, but I can't lend any of those ones out until I do a full inspection.

[He scampers away. The sound of items being shuffled around can be heard. A few moments later, Slippy comes back with a rocket launcher that's almost the size of him in his arms.]
Whew! [He sets it down next to Meryl. Wow, it's heavy.] Okay, I'm ready to check it out.
no subject
Do you need something to help carry that? Most folks have a hard time with cannons like those.
no subject
[Except he's wobbling around as he walks and looking like he's going to drop the cannon at any minute.]

[It was too late and the Cracker Launcher went off, shooting fireworks everywhere]Thanks. [He stuffs the Cracker Launcher in the bag and zips.] Well, I'll be seein' ya. [He starts to clumsily walk away, lugging the thing in his arms]
