Who: Lash, Alex and Skarmory
When: Future-dated when Lash comes back from Gerudo Lands
What: Wunderkinds try to expand tiny team rosters by getting the most elusive of all Pokemon creatures - an afrotaur. I mean Bouffalant (may not be as elusive as first stated).
Where: Unova
Warnings: Alex swears a lot, Lash is a terrible rolemodel and Skarmory...uh is ~~not house trained~~ adorable.

Castelia City was a large bustling metropolis that reminded Lash a lot more of the cities of Orange Star Cities and Final Destination than the tiny ones she had passed visiting the other regions before (and what little she did). This was going to be their first stop before they'd go for their planned trip of heading down to find a single Pokemon Lash actually wanted - a buffalo-like creature that had hair reminding Lash a little too much of herself.

She really wanted it. After all, it might not fly, but there were buffalo wings, right? So that totally counted.

Totally. And it was a normal type - she didn't have any of those on her team either. Maybe she could find a kid or get a pair to breed like she had with Skamory or...eh who knows, she was gonna wing this, because she was that awesome. ~~They were doomed.~~

'Route Ten' was still a long way off, but that was okay, she had her trusty transforming plane that could do the trick instead of bicycling around like most people did.

The machine landed close to the city, and she activated the holographic shielding which made it invisible. They might have not used it recently for anything Black Hole related for over a year, but hell if Lash wasn't going to abuse her own inventions. Not like Skarmory and Zapdos would go around telling everyone what she had or didn't have, after all.

"We're here!" she told them a little too excitedly. Busy Pokemon City was not a word Lash had known before, so this was mostly why it had been their first stop. MOrbid curiosity at what it had to offer, for one. She could also get some money exchanged so she could buy supplies as well. She could almost imagine herself as a trainer! And if asking for things didn't work, there could always be threatening and stealing. The best of both worlds.

Maybe one day she'd actually get badges or something.

"Wooooooowwww..."

Once Skarmory got out of the machine, he was immediately at awe with the HUGENESS of the city. He found himself staring straight up at the buildings. He was quiet for a few minutes before turning to Lash and Alex.

"I can barely see the sky, everything's sooooooooooo biiig!"

That last couple words were expressed by Skarmory spreading his arms wide, just to show how biiiiig this all was.

Alex was just as excited to see all the tall buildings. It was a huge place alright, but he was wondering how much electricity he could eat if he found the power source.

"It is fucking huge! I wonder how many stories these buildings have?!" he exclaimed, gazing up at the buildings.

So after Lash had gotten back from her emergency trip with Nabooru, she had invited Claus to go to Unova with her. Claus was used to big cities at this point from FDC, but this had a whole different layer, in that he had never been anywhere like this before. This was one of the regions all the Pokemon came from. It was a whole different world, and he tried not to let his excitement get the best of him. He gaped up at the buildings, blinking, and feeling just a bit out of place.

"Well I dunno how high they are, but we've got an entire city to visit in an afternoon! We're gonna head off to Nimbasa City afterwards for some carnival fun."

Yeap. Just a few days together, hanging out in theme parks and hunting Pokemon. What could be more romantic? (For uh...Lash and Claus anyway.)

"Now you two remember," she repeated for about the tenth time. "Don't change forms in public. Use a bathroom or something or don't do it at all, considering someone would try to capture you." she stood up again and resumed a normal talking voice.

"So who wants some ice cream? I heard it's only opens today and it's so good people come from all over Unova to eat it." She took out a bottle of pills. "Cause I'm prepared for it!"

Someone really wants some ice cream. Skarmory started to jump up and down.

"ME! MEMEMEMEME! I wanna have some ice cream!"

Forget the city! Ice cream.

"'Ey, I ain't that stupid." Alex scrunched up his nose, slightly offended, forgetting to keep his voice down for that part. But when the topic immediately switched over to ice cream, he couldn't help but show a face of complete disgust.

"Fuck ice cream!!"

Well, let's not fuck ice cream. Claus wasn't entirely sure where he stood in Alex's book, but for Skarmory's sake he was going to have to disagree.

"I could go for some ice cream," He added helpfully. He patted the little metal bird on the shoulder as he did so.

"Aww don't worry Alex, we'll get you some jello too," Lash promised. "At the size of the city I bet they have some sold somewhere in all sorts of colors. It's not just not as famous as the ice cream, that's all!"

So lo, they went, and found themselves in behind a ten person line, the booth still not open yet for a few more. As they waited more and more people stood in line between them.

"Wow! They've got to have really good ice cream!" She took in the pills and plopped them in her mouth.

Skarmory looked a little impatient. Wah. Why so many people. He hoped it didn't take long. But a long time to get ice cream was like...five minutes.

People lined up behind them, and the line eventually was scary long. And then Skarmory felt he wasn't that far away.

"Yeaaaaah, looks like so many people wanna have some. It must be reaaaal good!"

Waiting was something Alex wasn't Very Good at. It was just ice cream, what was the worth of it for waiting so long to get one?

"Well fuck this. Can I just wander around the city while you guys wait for a stinkin' ice cream?"

"Sure! Call us if you find something cool. I downloaded the main map in your phone," she explained. "I even made you a button for it!"

My, having a wunderkind genius was helpful sometime.

When had she had time to do that. If there was one thing Claus had learned though, it was never to underestimate the girl. He crossed his arms, still trying to blend into the gaggle of trainers surrounding them.

"What flavor are you gonna get?"

"I think they only have one flavor and it's vanilla but otherwise I'm gonna ask for chocolate." Oh good the place was opening! People were frantically buying it was pretty interesting.

Lash already had her money out.

"Only one flavor? Then it must be the bestest vanilla or something, right?"

Skarmory asked as he watched the frantic people buy this amazing ice cream. Woooow.

"Yeah yeah. See ya guys." Alex said as he walked off.

~~And then he ran into some alley street dancers and they had a party.~~

Strawberry was Claus' favorite ice cream flavor, he was a bit disappointed to learn they didn't have any. Vanilla tended to be a bit boring. He watched Alex as he wandered away, quirking an eyebrow.

"... Is he gonna be okay on his own?" Normally he wouldn't worry-- the Zapdos was super strong. But this was a whole new place, and he was in his human form...

"Yeah. I've taught him how to punch properly, he should be fine." Wither that was a good or a bad thing remained to be seen. The rest continued to wait some more when eventually, finally, the line came to them.

As they arrived to the front, there was, indeed, ice cream only in vanilla flavors. Lash was thankful for having to exchange her money before leaving. They didn't seem to accept anything but the crazy (to her) currency they used here.

"Only one per customer" the man warned her. Lash held up three fingers, pointing to Claus and Skarmory. The service was fast, considering that's all they did. Walking a bit off to let more people buy, she gave the cones to both of them.

"Hey! It's not melting as much!" Huh, how weird. Possibly how they made the ice cream or ingredients they used, she figured. "So uh...who wants to try it first?"

Isn't it obvious? This guy. Skarmory waved his arm like crazy.

"Oh, me! Me! Please!"

"Okay then," lash encourage pretty unsurprised about this turn of events. "Go for it!"

Claus examined his own ice cream, currently dripping onto his hand. Out of impulse, he licked it-- whoops.

"O-oh. Sorry, Skarmory. Guess I tasted it first."

And it actually tasted awesome. He was going to let the Pokemon discover that for himself, though.

Lash might have grabbed a nibble too. You know, behind the cone so no one could see it.

This was really good vanilla.

Skarmory tapped his foot kind of impatiently.

"Awwww...no fair. Do grown ups always get to do whatever they want?"

Well then, HE WAS JUST GONNA TAKE A BIG BITE OUT OF THAT CONE. What a brat.
