[Closed] Learning how to rollerblade at night?

Who: Riwane, Spinny
What: Spinny learns how to roller blade from Riwane
Where: On school grounds, in an area with trees
When: Monday, October 3, NIGHT TIME

Spinny waited at the spot Riwane had mentioned in her journal, feeling excited to learn how to rollerblade. It still scared her, of having something on her feet that might make her trip more than usual, but it also meant she could get to know a new friend!

The excitement probably was a little difficult to see on her blank expression she wore at the time, though.

She wouldn't have to wait long, especially since Riwane had a tendency to arrive early to places. She had, however, decided to make a quick stop to get some snacks and some drinks for their encounter! Because it would be nice and fun!

Her tail gave her away immediately in the dark, the light getting closer and moving side to side playfully. And soon enough the girl was visible, skating down towards the arranged area, backpack in tow, headphones on, and a cheery expression on her face.

She skidded to a halt a good distance away so that it'd be safe and walked slowly till she was nearby, giving her new friend a big smile and a relaxed wave, moving her headphones off her ears.

"Wow, yew do look pretty and cool! Jus' like Ah thought!" Riwane said immediately once she got a better look of Spinny. And now that it wasn't on the network, Spinny got full ear of Riwane's country girl accent!

Being a Timid nature, Spinny's immediate thoughts when she saw the light was that a ghost had appeared, and she got tempted to hide behind the tree to let the ghost pass by. When she almost started itching towards the tree, though, she saw that it was a girl with a flaming tail. She must be Riwane!

He guess was right when she saw the other's smile and the wave, and Spinny gave a small wave in response, although she couldn't exactly form a nice smile before the other started talking.

"...Hello..." She started speaking slowly before waving her hands around and shook her head, "...I'm...not cool...or pretty..."

And unlike Riwane's energetic speaking, Spinny's was monotonous and slow.

That didn't deter the energetic firetail one bit!

She grinned big and quickly sat on the ground in front of Spinny with a thud, pulling her backpack and settling it down in front of her.

"Aw, yew shouldn't say that. Yew really are! Ah had a feelin' yew were jus' frum tha way ya talked! Or well, typed!"

Opening her backpack, she pulled out another pair of skates and set them aside before opening another pocket and starting to empty it's contents on a small blanket she spread besides her.

"Lessee, Ah brought 'couple bag 'a doritos, their spicy tho! An apple, a carrot, a celery stick, sum grapes, sum dip, sum jerky, sum cheeto thingies an' a few muffins. An' fur drinks, Ah got us sum juice boxes and a few cans a' cola. An' a big bottle a water with sum cups!"

.... What? She liked the idea of a nice treat while out and about adventuring!!!

"You sound...like very fun person... to be around with..." She replied. The kind of person she looked up to the most. She admired those who can make the surroundings cheer up, she always wanted to be someone like that.

Spinny stared at all the flood that were spread out on the blanket, amazed at all the different variations of snacks. She could already tell this hanging out was going to be amazing and she was excited for it... Except that her excitement didn't show up on her blank expression.

"Sounds like... fun picnic..." She then said, trying to look as excited as how she felt, which only showed the tiniest bit.

Riwane smiled cheerily up at her, finding her demeanor rather cute!

"Ah'm hopin' it is! Ah really want yew ta enjoy yewrself! And in turn, we can both have lotsa fun together~" she added with a thumbs up.

"Now, take whatevah yew want frum here, it's all fur grabs! After all, it's our nite out!"

After finishing up the set up, she showed Spinny her skates, "These are tha ones yew'll be usin'. They're one of mah favorites an' they'll treat ya well~ Jus' lemme know when yew're ready an' Ah can then help ya put em on and we can go on ovah tha basics!"

And have fun!

Spinny helped herself to one grape and popped into her mouth as she gazed at the roller skates. Oh wow, they looked a lot cooler than what she saw on her computer! She could already see herself skating in them...

If only she knew how hard it was to balance.

"They look...so cool..."

"They're lots'a fun~ It takes a bit ta git used ta them, but once yew got it, ya never forget! Like walkin'~!"

Yup, and Riwane was on her tail quite a bit, but she never gave up!

She took few pieces of jerky, some doritos and a few slices of an apple and made herself a bunch of little sandwiches, popping one at a time every so often while sipping from her cola bottle.

"How long have yew been around Spinny? Ah'm like totally new, but Ah'm enjoyin' my time here a lot!"

Spinny quietly listened to the other talk as she got some more grapes. She spoke up when the other asked.

"I've...been here... last year..." She said, slowly as ever. "As... Spinarak... For a little... bit... though... But it's... a fun place... With lots...of nice... people..."

Well, there were a couple people who were mean, but she avoided them as much as she could.

"Oh neat! So yew're used to tha place? Ah'm likin' it so far mahself. Met a couple of real nice peeps and they've been more than welcomin'! An' Ah'm always lookin' to meet new people and make friends so Ah'm real happy that you came to this here picnic!"

She took a nice refreshing sip of her drink and smiled right after.

"Jus' lemme know when yew're ready to hit up the skates, tho there's no rush, nite's young an' all that~" Looking up and grinned at the nice, clear night sky. "An' a darn pretty one at that."

Oh gosh, she talked so much! Spinny couldn't help but admire at how much Riwane could talk in such a short period of time.

"Um..." For a moment, she couldn't give a coherent answer as she tried to sort her thoughts out before all she could say was "that's...good..."

She looked up at the sky as the other did, and gazed up at the moon. It did look pretty... She forgot to give an answer.

Riwane had a tendency to ramble on, especially if she was in good company or a good mood.

In this case, it was both!

She turned to look at Spinny and smiled. "Pretty neat huh?" she asked warmly.

Spinny gave a small nod in response. "...Yeah..."

Alright, this was the chance for her to maybe ask about learning how to roller blade! She opened her mouth to ask, but all she could say was, "Uh..."

Too many things were going through her mind and she couldn't pick which word to say first.

"Hm?" she turned to look at her curiously.

"Did'ya say sumtin' Spinny?"

She was wondering if maybe she needed help, or maybe she was still hungry? Or thirsty?

"Um..." Spinny started, suddenly feeling shy and embarrassed about all this. Being a Timid Nature didn't help at all, nope.

"I was... thinking...maybe... practicing... roller blading..." Spinny managed to ask, although by the end of that sentence, she was whispering so softly that perhaps the other couldn't hear.

One good thing about Riwane was that she was very good of hearing, even with how much abuse she gave that particular sense as she loved loud music to dance to!

"Oh! Shure~" she said cheerily as she got up and smiled big, picking up her spare roller blades as well as hers and getting closer to Spinny, still a pleasant distance away so she didn't scare her.

Once there, she settled down and offered the spare set while grabbing her own and beginning to put them on slowly so that Spinny got a good look of how to put them on.

"If yew need any help puttin' em on, jus' ask an' Ah'll help yew rite away~"

Spinny stared intently as she watched the other put the roller blades on before slowly starting on putting them on her feet as well. Putting them on was the easy step. When it came to trying to get up, she froze in place and stared at her feet.

What if she started rolling and couldn't stop the moment she got up? She was going to run into all the things and get herself killed... All these deadly thoughts started swimming through her head as she gulped.

Riwane noticed how unsure Spinny looked and smiled as she hopped up to her feet and stabilized herself.

She rolled over a bit closer and offered a warm smile and a helping hand down at Spinny.

"Dun worry none, it's a bit odd at first, but yew git used ta it. An' tha worse that can happen is a small fall on yewr butt~ Ah had lots of those when learnin'" she mused pointing at her tail.

"Took a bit longer cause of mah tail, but Ah learned to use it to my advantage for better balance. Also! Dun worry bout anythin' too crazy, Ah'll be rite here fur yew ta help if ya need anythin' alrite?" she winked playfully at her and smiled.

Spinny listened to the other talk; okay, so there were going to be lots of falling, that was good to know! She gave a nod in response as she slowly took Riwane's hand and slowly got up to her feet.

Her legs started shaking as she tried to keep her balance, and after a minute or so she fell back down onto the floor.

"...Really...hard to balance..." She commented. This lack of friction was something she really needed to get used to, especially since she was so used to being able to latch onto any kind of surface as a Pokemon.

Riwane was sure the small fall wouldn't hurt, but she still looked to make sure her new friend was okay.

"It is, but once yew git used to it, you'll be glidin' all ovah tha place and havin' fun!"

She helped Spinny back up and this time she'd keep holding her hands so she can stabilize with her. One step at a time, first she'd need to get her skater legs!

"Do you...think so...?" Timid nature tended to give up rather easily, as far as Spinny understood herself. When she was helped back up she did her best to stay still; staying frozen would keep her from falling over, right?

There was now a Spinny imitation statue.

"O'course! I bet'cha yew'll do great once yew git into that mindset of confidence an' yew see tha results! Ah know yew can do it," she said with a friendly and encouraging smile and a wink.

She still held her to make sure she didn't fall, but soon enough tried to begin rolling slowly with her. Baby steps!

And when she started rolling, Spinny gave a small squeak in surprise, her open arm flailing around as she did. She was flailing so much that she quickly lost balance and fell down again.

"Whoa!" Riwane tried holding her up but eventually fell right with her, right on top, face to face. She blinked a few times at the proximity before smiling warmly.

"Yew alrite?" she asked in a soft voice.

Oh, this was such an embarrassing situation. The other was so close to her face. Spinny's face slowly started became red with the blush before she hid her face with her hands. She quietly gave a nod in response before she spoke: "...sorry..."

Riwane smiled warmly and slowly got off the girl and offered a hand down to her.

"Dun' worry 'bout it none kay? It was an accident an' like Ah said, they'll happen while yew learn. But dun worry! S'long as yew weren't hurt, it's all good rite? Jus' lemme know if yew wana stop at anytime kay? Ah would hate if yew were feelin' bad."
