Fill her heart with jewels and watch the hole eat them away.
Characters: Goombella, Nabooru
Date: Aug. 09, 2011
Summary: Goombella seeks to help Nabooru out of her emo rut. It's generally some girl time.
Warnings: Nooooone.
Nabooru finished organising the papers and books along her desk and she paused for a moment, left hand poised at the bottom of her chin. For many moments she did nothing except space out, consider where she was, where she was going, what she had left, and so on. Then she moved to sit on her desk and drew up a jotter to put in her class plans for the upcoming unit.
Goombella would be on her way shortly. It'd do Nabooru some good to actually look remotely normal and not at all as affected by the events of recent as she actually. But chances were that Goombella would be the wiser. Perhaps.

Once her work was done for the day, she peeked into Nabooru's office, rapping on the door. "Ready to go?" she asked.
no subject
"I am." She approached her door and waited for Goombella to back away before she could show herself out and lock up her classroom until the following day. "Did you want to go anywhere in particular?"

Her eyebrows lifted at her companion, "Does any of that make sense?"

As they left, Goombella looked to her. "So, what shall we shop for? I'm thinking we can hit a booksto-- a few clothes shops, find some nice outfits," she corrected herself. This was no time to be nerdy.

She shook her head and then when she began to give Goombella's suggestion some serious thought, she fingered her chin affectionately. "Hm... Well, say we did go to a bookstore. What kind of book would you be looking for? When I think about it, we've never really talked about books."
no subject
"Oh, I read anything and everything!" she said happily. "Fiction, non-fiction, science fiction, romance, fantasy, mystery... But right now, I'm looking for some good reference books. Exotic islands, mythology... Stuff to give me inspiration for treasure hunting," she explained. "What about you? What do you like to read?"
no subject
"Pr0n," Nabooru replied simply."What do I like to read?" Nabooru asked. She fingered at her chin in thought. "I like reading about my homeland's legends. Stories about the Goddess of the Sand. Myths. Folklore. That sort of thing. And magic. Not too long ago, and even before I left I was visiting the library to read up on it."
She offered half a grin, "Weird, right? That someone like me likes reading. That's a secret. Don't go telling anyone. I have a reputation to maintain."

She tipped her head this way and that in contemplation. Ganondorf liked reading. In fact, Ganondorf liked a lot of things that most people didn't know about. And she imagined that he'd never really let too much of himself be known while he was present. For a few moments, she grew serious, as though momentarily lost in nostalgia.
Then she immediately perked back up. "I'd say we should start up a book club, but I'm not too sure how many people would actually appreciate us doing that."

Nabooru was half teasing, and half not-so-much. "I'll tell you what. I'll bring it up with the rest of the academy. I know you have your hands with the up and coming Treasure Hunting Club, so you let me look into this for us and if we have enough people interested, I'll run it for us. That way you're not taking on too much and neither am I."
She cocked an eyebrow, "What do you think? That sound good?"
no subject
She nodded with a smile. "I think it sounds like a good idea! But don't worry about me, I'm looking for things to do as well! I'm happy to help out!"

She scratched at her cheek idly. "Thanks for being there, Goombella. I'm not really sure how else I can say it, but I appreciate it like crazy."

The conversation had taken up enough of their time for them to make the trip to the nearest mall. As they walked through, Goombella looked to Nabooru to see what stores caught her eye.

She finally looked over to her blonde-haired companion and tipped her head. "Hm? What's up?"

Her posture straightened and she offered an idle shrug. "I'm not really looking for anything in particular. I was just looking to look." Settling her hand upon her hip, she gestured idly, at absolutely nothing. "You mind if I ask you something? Girl stuff related, in case you're wondering."

"What do you think you would do if Knuckles suddenly up and left the academy? Without a word to you?"

Then she reached over with a hand and pointed to the window at her side. "Look. It's a book on archaeology. We should go take a look." And yes, it was her way of distracting her friend.
no subject
Grateful for the distraction, she nodded. "Sure thing, let's take a look." They stepped into the store, and Goombella took a deep breath. She loved that new book smell.
