Who: Link and Amp
What: Racing at the track!
Where: Uh. The track.
When: March 27th
Warnings: Nothing, I think...?
Link had actually come outside to practice his sword fighting, but was sidetracked with exploring the rest of the training area outside. He eventually found himself standing near the track, looking around at everything and everyone around him. He could do with some running practice. After all, he was already pretty good at sword fighting, and, well, he wasn't really the fastest runner out there- at least, not in his human form. Although, some his slow movement may have been caused by all of the heavy gear he carried around with him.
Maybe challenging himself to a race with one of the people running at the track would be a good way to train. A challenge was always the best way to get motivated about something!

Here is Amp, a Pikachu running all around the track in circles in one concentrated curve, marked by a white line. She was pretty fast like this. However, maybe she could use some practice in her human form. Her human self was nowhere near as fast as her Pikachu form, and it probably would never get that good.
Well, she could always try, she thought, as she ran and ran and ran and- bumped into someone's leg. A very certain green tunic-bearing warrior's leg. Oops!
"Pi!"

"I'm so sorry!" He squatted so that he was closer the eye level with the creature. "Are you alright?"

Amp sported a surprised look at first, a nice little dent in her fur from the impact. The rest of her behind the fur was fine. It was just a small mark that was fixed up by her rubbing her arm on her head.
Once she straightened her fur out, she lowered her arm and looked back up at him with a cheery expression. "Chu!" Aaaand a nod!

Link reached down to give the Pikachu a quick pet on the head, when he suddenly had an idea mid-pet. He'd found someone to race against! "Hey! How do you feel about a race?"

A RACE.
Amp could feel like she could perfectly connect with this strange man already. She cheerfully nodded before she zoomed up his body, attempting to sit on his shoulder to bump his cheek with her head. That was her way of saying that she'd love that.
"Pikapika!"

Link looked around the track, then noticed a white line on the ground. They were supposed to start at the white line, right? He moved toward the line, careful to make sure Amp didn't fall off of his shoulder, then placed her on the ground next to him. "Ready?"

Of course, though, they had to start at the same time, right? Amp tried to communicate that by pointing at her paw. She had three 'fingers' lifted of the four (including thumb) that Pikachu had. She then pointed to that hand with her other one.
What she was trying to convey was that they could start on the count of three!

"Three!" Link started off running as fast as he could, giving an occasional glance to the side to keep track of Amp's progress.

"Pikapikapika!"

Mid-run, Link transformed into a wolf, running significantly faster than his previous form. If Amp listened, she could hear Link's panting slowly getting louder. He was beginning to catch up!

"Pika!" Amp knew something was up here. He was faster, wasn't he? That wasn't very good. Time to kick things up a notch. Volt Tackling didn't go in spurts, and while it wasn't as fast as a Quick Attack, it was actually more steady. Maybe it'd help.
So she did that. Electricity engulfed her as she tried to pick up more speed.

He'd just have to wait for Amp to run out of PP, then.
