LJ RP Log: Luigi and Dimentio's Fight Continued (Completed)

Characters: Luigi, Dimentio, Peasley and (eventually) ROB
What: Luigi gives in to finish the fight they started in the café awhile ago, BUT HOW WILL IT GO?? God, the anticipation.
Where: Some large clearing in the forest near the school.
When: Tuesday, July 8th, nighttime (past curfew XO those naughty chilluns)
Rating: Uhmmm PG-13 I would assume, most for the violence, but prolly some swearing might break out.
((EDIT: Ack, sorry Tikara, I didn't realise you wouldn't be on till later. D: Just jump in with ROB however you want, I'm sure we'll still be going.))

Luigi had barely gotten any rest the night before. He had vaguely been hoping over the past week that Dimentio would have cooled off about their fight, especially after sparring with Paula and winning, but Luigi should have known better. Probably didn't help Luigi would passively aggressively confront him every once in awhile--but what else could he do when that clown jerk was attacking his friends, like Daisy? But it unfortunately made it hard to stay out of Dimentio's radar when Luigi would do that.

He laid in bed the night before, dozing off every now and then but then waking up with a panicked start, worrying about what could happen to him. Would it be an all out brawl, no rules, deal as much pain as possible? He also kept wishing he hadn't asked Peasley along for those very reasons. He wanted him there for the support of his friend, but if things got a bit out of hand he knew Peasley wouldn't hesitate in leaping into the meelee and that was the last thing Luigi wanted as well.

He even thought about telling his brother, but decided not to burden him with his foolishness.

So as a result, he didn't sleep, still went to classes but didn't pay much attention, and couldn't eat for fear of it coming back up with a particularly hard bout of anxiety. Now, here he was, stalking through the gardens with Peasley where just some nights before they had been strolling leisurely hand in hand, but now were trying to rush through them as quickly as possible without being detected by Resetti or any other figures of authority. (And yet he still had the urge to reach out and grab the prince's hand as they went.)

His hand went up to his hat for possibly the 50th time, making sure the Smash Ball Peasley had (stupidly) stolen for him was still there, despite the fact he could feel it against his head as he moved. It was an odd and inconvenient place for the ball, but it was the only good place he could think to hide it where it would have the least chance of breaking while he fought. He didn't want to have to use it lest he felt like he had to, if he felt like Dimentio was going too far--or if Luigi suddenly felt the utter need to win.

They stopped at the edge of the gardens, staring out over the expanse of open field they'd have to dash through before reaching the forest--then the clearing they had planned to meet at was about a half mile or so in. They were in for bit of a long walk through an impressive forest, but it was the only place Luigi could think of to meet safely.

He swallowed hard, nervous, and glanced over at Peasley for support.

Peasley smiled at Luigi in a vacant sort of way. "Quite exciting, don't you think?" His voice was a whisper as they snuck along the path. "It's too bad we couldn't fly there! Heheheh... much too conspicuous unfortunately~" He resisted the urge to reach for his hair. That's all they needed was the equivalent of an SOS flare.

They eventually reached the clearing, having rushed across the field like a couple of untrained ninjas. It was already very dark outside, and the surrounding tree line didn't help, the moon was just under it, hopefully it was climb up soon.

They walked into the grass slowly, glancing around for any sign of Luigi's opponent.

Dimentio was perched on a branch of one of the numerous trees that circled the clearing. He had warped here a while ago, and was now waiting for his opponent and his sparkling friend to reach him. He had spotted them from up above in a brief pause between teleportations, a fair distance away. That was fine, though, he could wait.

Today had been a slow day for him, attending a single class, and then catching up on sleep missed over the past few days. He was just happy to finally have this confrontation happening, to give him something to do. He wasn't sure why he insisted on badgering Luigi to his wit's end to resume the fight from the cafe. Vengance? Bordom? A need for closure? He shrugged. All that mattered at the moment was that he was about to fight an old adversary again.

The sound of rustling grass and hushed voices among the cacophany of crickets alerted him to Luigi and Peasley's arival. He swung his legs over the side of the branch and let them dangle, confident he couldn't be spotted. His yellow eye glinted in the dark, a spark of amusement ignited within it when he saw the pair searching for him. Time to make an appearence.

Without flinching, he vanished quietly behind a barrier. Seconds later, he reappeared in the same manner a few feet ahead of his opponent. With a smile, he spoke.

"Ahaha, glad you could make it."

Upon Dimentio's arrival, Peasley stepped forward and laughed.
"Luigi is ready as always!" He tossed his head to the side and eyed Dimentio confidently as he said this.

"Will-a you take this? M'afraid of it-a breaking as I fight, I-a really don't wanna use it 'less I have to. . . ."
"Oh! Of course of course." He gingerly took the item from Luigi's hand, careful not to be too noticeable about it. "You can count on me to be at the ready!"
Peasley grabbed Luigi's should with his free hand and turned him around. "Now! Go jostle up that jester and show him some of your heroic thunder, Greeny!"

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Dimentio chuckled at Luigi's glare and Peasley's declaration. He opened his mouth to retort to Luigi, but snapped it shut when the green clad plumber demanded he move away to let him speak to Peasley in private. He quirked an eyebrow at this, being told to stand in a corner like a disobediant child. What could possibly happen if he defied Luigi's demands? Would he get a spanking?

...What? Dimentio grimaced, a little distrubed by that train of thought. Disturbed enough to obey and move to the middle of the clearing as the two green fellows spoke. He turned back to face his opponent once he heard Peasley's raised voice giving Luigi pep talk, his grimace replaced with a fitting grin. He hovered in place as Luigi approched the center.

"Are there any conditions you'd like to put on this fight?" Dimentio spoke with a false sweetness in his voice, feigning innocence in his tone, "Perhaps a limitation, or a goal for each? Or is this just going to be a barbaric rumble to see who the last man standing is? Not that I have any problem with that." He knitted his fingers together, cracked his knuckles nonchalantly at the end of his statement and eyed Luigi, awaiting an answer.

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 05:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I can't make any promises~" Dimentio chimed in an almost sing-song voice, "But a fight to surrendurance seems the most reasonable, yes." He nodded, apparently satisfied.

He suddenly turned his back to Luigi and glided a few feet away before turning back to face him. He landed on the ground softly and let his hands hang at his sides.

"And so, we shall fight, like a pair of mangy cats in a starlit alleyway." He laughed and raised a hand, the hem of his cloak rising with it as if forced by an invisible arm. His fingers twitched towards himself in a beckoning motion to Luigi. "Ready when you are."

[identity profile] fabulous-beans.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Peasley watched as Luigi walked out into the clearing. He called out a cheer or two to his friend, to be encouraging.

The fight probably would have been more exciting had Peasley not found out the truth behind his black and white acquaintance. Sure, he was excited, but there was this tinge of worry in the back of his mind that would not go away. Suddenly things seemed a lot more serious than they did when he had pushed Luigi to fight, back at the cafe. Was it okay to have kept pushing him?

Yes. yes of course it was. Luigi was LUIGI! What could go wrong? He even had a trump card, oh so brilliantly planned! Nothing could be better than one-upping a villain, this will be a fun fight, indeed.

He called out one more time. "Knock him so hard his colors invert, Green! Haha" Tactful as always.

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
Dimentio snorted at Peasley's shouts of reassurance for Luigi. Invert his colors indeed. But the cheers brought a smile to Luigi's face, visibly making him seem more confident. We can't have that now, can we?

As soon as Luigi shouted for the fight to begin, the green clad boy dashed towards Dimentio. He stood in place, ready to move at the last second or try to trip up his opponent. He blinked when a fireball was tossed his way, but wasted no time in avoiding it by teleporting. He vanished from the path of the flame and reappeared behind Luigi. With a flick of his hand, he sent an energy orb flying at him.

"...."

Hiding and human, ROB, the only person to consider the manic jester as a friend, watched the tussle from behind a thick tree. The robot clenched his hand against the rough bark as the green clad italian hit the ground. He attempted to place his foot out from behind the tree and walk over, but he quickly pulled back in.

ROB wanted to do something to settle this instead of hiding and watching from a distance. He hated seeing his friends fight out of class, especially the one he considered to be his best.

But he couldn't. He was frozen in place, his body shivering, something he never did before.

...He was scared...

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The fire from the explosions swirled around Luigi's sheild, wearing it down. Dimentio would have preferred they swirled around Luigi himself and singe that hair right off his lip. But he should've expected that the plumber would be prepared. He damn well should be, putting this off for over a week.

The explosions didn't last long, as they tend to. Dimentio stood up straight, half expecting to see Luigi fall onto his rear from the stress of holding off such a barrage. Instead, he leapt up high into the air. Before Dimentio could react, Luigi's boot connected with his face, and he was sent flying backwards.

He fell to the ground on his side, dazed. He forced himself to sit upright and blink in an attempt to fix his now doubled vision. Something ran down the center of his face, down to his mouth. A flick of his tongue gave him a coppery taste; Blood. He wiped his hand across his face, feeling a crack that had been caused by the kick.

Enraged, Dimentio shot up into the air. Both his hands were raised above his head, but his eyes were locked onto Luigi. An all too familiar barrier box quickly formed around the agrivating man in green.

[identity profile] fabulous-beans.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
A force field of sorts? Was he trapping Luigi for an attack? Peasley could see Luigi pounding from the inside... danger must be ahead to make the green hero so nervous. He almost took a step forward, his hand instinctively twitching by the handle of his blade.

Should he help? No... this was Luigi's fight. He was here to give support, and hopefully not HAVE to go along with their emergency plan of action. He glanced at the smash ball he was holding close to him. It made him wonder a bit, what kind of power it would grant his friend. Something devastating no doubt!

Heheheh, I really should have no worries! Things will go just beany! Luigi can get out of any pickle.
He set his eyes back on the two fighters, his smile was only half as sincere as it usually was, however.

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Seeing the panic in Luigi's eyes caused a grin to split across Dimentio's face. Such a familiar situation, only he wasn't in the box with him, and he hadn't any intent to brainwash him at the moment. He didn't want to waste any time, however, knowing Luigi's sheild would be recharging every second it wasn't being used. He'd want to start while it was still a little fragile.

With a snap of the jester's gloved fingers, the box became a glowing beacon, filled with flames and explosions, engulfing it's contents in searing heat. The light from each explosion cast an orange glow onto Dimentio's grinning face in an eerie fashion against the darkness surrounding him. He cackled loudly enough to be heard over the booming, letting himself sink down from his high perch in the air to be almost level with the top of the box.

"Is this bringing back some painful memories, Mr. L?!" He shouted. He didn't care if his victim could hear him or not, he was far too amused for his own good.

[identity profile] fabulous-beans.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Greeny!!"
Peasley shouted as Luigi's trap filled with fire. Memories of Luigi talking about dying came flying in. He took a few rushed steps forward before stopping himself with utmost effort. This- this is his fight, it would be dishonorable to try to interfere.

Mr. L? That's a nickname he hadn't heard before. He watched, fists clenched, as the explosions subsided... I KNOW you'll get out of this one, Luigi! Such an attack is no match! Confidence was the most important thing.

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
He couldn't conceal a hint of surprise from his face when he saw Luigi move. His will power was to be admired, but his foolishness for not lying down and saving himself from future pain will cost him.

Dimentio didn't have a chance to prepare another attack. Luigi landed a solid punch in his gut, knocking the wind from his lungs and forcing him back. He flailed briefly to stabalize himself in the air and narrowed his eyes at his opponent. He was mocking him. Dimentio was clutching his stomach, panting, while that infuriating plumber openly criticized his abilities. This was backwards!

"Would you prefer I addressed you as that other nickname you gave yourself during your servitude to Bleck?" His voice held the smallest hint of irritation. He cracked his neck and smiled at Luigi, planning to show no sign of how annoyed he really was. As fireballs were tossed his way once again, he flipped dimensions, effectively dodging them and becoming invisible. He whirled back into the 3rd dimension with a kick aimed at Luigi's head.

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Dimentio let out a yelp when he was grabbed by the leg. He shut his eyes tightly as he was swung about and flung to the ground. He mentally scolded himself for being so physically weak and small. It was too late for him to complain now, though.

He groaned and rolled over to push himself off the ground. He regretted moving the way he had, recieving a kick in his groin. He inhaled sharply and collapsed back onto the ground, curling into himself. He coughed, wanting to avoid speaking in a high pitch.

"An-And you said...I pulled a dirty move earlier? Hhh..YOU'RE the one who kicks guys in the BALLS when they're down." He glared at Luigi, no longer bothering to mask, pun not intended, his emotions. He forced himself back into the air as quickly as he could, not trusting his legs to support himself. God forbid he appear weak, especially in front of such a pathetic excuse for a fighter.

Willing himself to recover, he forced a smile onto his face.

"Your memory is as clouded as ever," He allowed no pain into his voice, "You could ask Mimi, she was there too." He glided backwards and snapped his fingers. As soon as the click was heard, a thick bolt of lightning attacked the ground where Luigi stood.

Annoyed was the only way to describe how Dimentio felt at the moment. Not angry, not worried, not fearful. Annoyed. This fight was far more brutal than the past battles. And Luigi had finally decided to stand up to him, and toss him around.

Dimentio glared at Luigi as he bent down to speak to him, but was otherwise silent as he spoke. He didn't bother acknowleging his question, rhetorical or not, with an answer. Instead he spat in his face as a responce. This distracted Luigi enough for Dimentio to quickly lock his hands around his throat and shove him over. He forced his green adversary onto his back and straddled him, keeping a vice grip on his neck and pinning his arms at his sides with his knees.

"It's probably best that you aren't now," His face was contorted into a cross between a psychotic grin and a snarl, " He was a much better fighter than you are." He started pressing his thumbs against Luigi's adam's apple as he spoke, but stopped once he finished. Undoubtedly aided by the same magic he used to levitate himself, he hoisted his opponent into the air with him. While still clutching Luigi by the neck, he began spinning quickly. After several rotations he released his grip, hurling the plumber a distance away, into the ground.

He swooped over so he was face to face with Luigi briefly.

"An eye for an eye~" he sang in his face before flitting away like a sparrow, out of kicking range.

[identity profile] too-dimented.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 01:05 am (UTC)(link)
Despite the damage that had been done, Dimentio remained smiling. He pressed his fingers against the tree he had been thrown against. His shoulders were shaking as he laughed, genuinely amused at how confident Luigi had become. He had changed, that was clear. At least, he changed when he was around.

"I haven't even tasted my words since they left my lips," he chuckled, brushing loose bark of the back of his cloak, " In fact, I reiterate them. Your attempts at fighting are heartfelt, but still fall short. I'm afraid you just don't have what it takes to take me down for good!" He pushed himself off the tree and vanished. This time, however, he didn't reappear. Still unseen, he circled Luigi, laughing uproarously.

"You always fall short, don't you? Lost in your brother's shadow. Even as Mr. L, you were a failure in the eyes of everyone. Too cocky and full of yourself to see how pathetic you truly looked. That hasn't changed, either, I see! Pathetic! You've landed a few blows on me, and you think you're winning? Don't flatter yourself, I'm toying with you." Every now and again, Dimentio would flip into the third dimension and flash a mocking smile at Luigi before vanishing again, "Much like you toyed with the heart of that annoying wretch, Daisy! Toyed with her heart and smashed it to pieces like a spun glass sculpture tossed into the road. And it wasn't just because you didn't love her back, it was because there was someone else~"

Dimentio reappeared to see the horrified look on Luigi's face after he said this. "Don't look so surprised, you should know by now it's impossible to keep secrets from me!" He vanished again, but his laughter still rang from thin air.

[identity profile] fabulous-beans.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
The fight was full ups and downs and Peasley could barely take it, he had seen the brothers fight but this was just getting brutal. He did his best to have faith in Luigi, cheering inwardly everytime he landed a hit.

Dimentio had been saying things to Luigi, but Peasley could barely hear it. He would try to listen but could only get parts. Mr. L... something about Daisy... They sure had a lot to talk about!

He began to get worried as the jester was obviously tormenting Luigi with whatever words were coming out of his invisible mouth. He yelled out as quick as he could.
"Luigi! Don't be intimidated by him! Words are nothing to actions, show him some action!" He tried to smile as he waved his hand in the air, cheering his friend on.
