BLIND DATES GROUP 1

What: BLIND DATES!
Who: Anyone who was sent a note with an A# & B# table numbers.
Where: Off-campus restaurant. AND BEYOND!
When: November 19th
Warnings: Who knows depending who is here.

[The first group's restaurant is Fine French Dinning. The rooms looks very fancy but thankfully the menu and the prices are a bit more down to earth. Still expensive, however, but you've been given a 100$ budget for eating each!

The lighting is dim, with flickering, oil candles on every table. The place is decorated in sparkling whites and browns. The overhead
music is old classical french, to fit with the theme. Your servers all have mustaches and speak in broken English with a heavy French accent.

Beside each candle, there's a card. Each card has a different letter-number combination.

Find your table!

OH YEAH AND FEEL FREE TO LEAVE THE RESTAURANT AND GO ANYWHERE ELSE!]

Sadly, that's something Marie would have to get used to. When Amp likes someone, she doesn't leave them alone.

Guess what? She likes Marie.

Let's see, though, what should Amp even order for him? She didn't know. Most of the stuff was very unknown to her. Hmm, she'd give him some stuff that looked interesting to her!

"Um, you can try! Uh, this!" She flipped her menu to him and pointed to the 'Feuillette of Escargots' and the 'Tournedos Marchand de Vin'- filet mignon with a red wine sauce. Amp... didn't even know what wine was or what any of these dishes entailed, but there you go.

"They might be good!"
punchwaves: (09; marie is a moe.)

Whatever she was pointing to sounded good to him. He didn't understand it in the slightest, but the names were appealing. Hopefully the red wine sauce would be sweet. At least dessert would be easy, right? He set his menu back on the table and looked over at Amp. He avoided eye contact but at least he was smiling a little.

"Okay. That's fine." He paused. "What are you gonna get?"

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-20 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm getting the ess... kar... got, too!" Amp seriously pronounced 'escargot' like the word 'got'. Seriously. "But I'm getting it as escargot boor-gweeg-nawn, chu!" She means 'bourguignon'.

"And I'm getting it with... this!" Amp pointed to the 'Frog Legs Provençale' on the menu. Their dishes were going to be mighty interesting. "I think that'll be good, right? I think I'll get it with water, chu!"

Having lived in the forest made her pretty used to drinking just plain water. That, or just dealing with the juices from berries.
punchwaves: (07; marie is not paying attention.)

[personal profile] punchwaves 2010-11-20 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Ess-kar-got? Is that how you pronounced it? Marie made a mental note for when the server came around. If only he could get her to pronounce the other thing she had picked out for him. Then he'd be all set...

"Frog legs? I don't know why anyone would want to eat anyone's legs," he replied. "I'm going to have water too." Because water was the best thing on earth and it was extraordinarily delicious.

And then he looked away, glancing at the other diners but mostly Red and Misty. And then he looked back at Amp.

"So did you sign up, or did they make you?" he asked.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-20 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
Amp placed her palms on her knees, her gaze wavering to the chandelier above as she thought for a moment. Obviously, she knew that she signed up, but she was thinking of how to quite explain it, and... wow that chandelier is pretty, just wow.

Oh, oops, she spaced out. That wasn't rare with her, She looked back to Marie after staring off for a bit. Finally, she replied, "Oh, yep, yep, I signed up! I thought it'd be fun to make a new friend, or to have fun with a friend, chu! I thought it wouldn't hurt anything!"

She tilted her head slightly. "How about you, chu? Did you sign up?"
punchwaves: (05; marie is timid.)

[personal profile] punchwaves 2010-11-20 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
"No, I didn't sign up. I just got a card with my table on it. And I don't want to get expelled, or I'd be letting my team down," Marie explained. Way to bring your problems to the dinner table, Marie. He pouted in Amp's direction.

"But I guess it's not so bad," he added, not wanting to make Ampere feel bad. Although, that seemed pretty much impossible considering her personality type. Nothing seemed to bother her.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-20 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed, Amp wasn't bothered. She was pretty difficult to bother unless something was pretty blatantly bad. Then she kind of got a little electric, so to speak. Not really outraged, but definitely very full of sparks, partially out of her own control, as it was her body's natural reaction to negative feeling. Thankfully, though, Marie wouldn't have to face that. Thank god, too, being that it would be super effective.

"Of course not, chu! It's a lot of fun! I've never even been to a food place like this, have you? Oh, and what team do you have, chu? A sports team?"

Being that she was a wild Pokemon, a 'Pokemon team' wasn't the first thing that came to mind.
punchwaves: (15; marie is shocked.)

[personal profile] punchwaves 2010-11-21 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
Thank Arceus for that... Just being around Ampere and knowing the type-advantage had Marie on edge.

When 'a sports team' came out of Amp's mouth, Marie couldn't help but frown at her for a second. A sports team? Really? Marie had assumed that Ampere had a trainer too, considering the nickname. "No, i-it's a Pokemon team. I'm part of a Pokemon team," he finally replied, still frowning.

He pretty much forgot about Ampere's other question...

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-21 02:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ohhhh!"

Oh, and here was a waiter. Amp reiterated their orders for the two of them. Now their food would be on their way while they were still talking. FUN.

Back to the conversation, though, she had to admit that she forgot her own other question, too. She leaned forward, elbows on the table and cheeks in her palms. "You're in a Pokemon team then, chu? What's that like? I've never been in one before! Just a pack!" Her pack of Pikachu back home was probably drastically different from living with a trainer and his/her Pokemon.
punchwaves: (08; marieeeawbubububwuuu.)

[personal profile] punchwaves 2010-11-27 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Thankfully, when the waiter came around, he filled both of their glasses with water. Marie promptly drank about a third of it right away.

As Amp leaned forward, Marie leaned back into his chair, with his glass still in his hand. "It's the greatest feeling in the world," he replied, calmly. "My trainer and my teammates mean the world to me. I wouldn't trade being on a team for anything." I don't recall anyone ordering a giant bowl of sap...

He softened his intense expression and asked Amp, "What was it like being in a pack? Or what is it like, I don't know."

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
Amp was ignoring the water entirely for a moment as she listened attentively. It sounded like having a team was a lot like having a family. That brought her to her answer.

"It's a lot like that! When you're in a pack, you'll never be alone, chu! The leader of the pack is really strong, but really nice, chu," she added. Unlike packs of, say, wild wolves or dogs, Pikachu pack leaders are much more docile. They are still commanding, but in a gentler manner to match the rest of the group. Well, or most of the group.

"It's like having the biggest family in the world! Is that what your team is to you? Family, chu?"
punchwaves: (04; marie thinks your shirt is ugly.)

[personal profile] punchwaves 2010-11-28 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Marie nodded. "Yeah, I guess. I don't really know what having a family is like," he admitted. He definitely didn't seem to torn up about that fact. Who needs family when you've got the best Pokemon team on the planet?

"Are you still with your pack? I mean... do you see them sometimes?"

Marie wasn't usually this talkative. He shifted his gaze to his empty plate and shyly sipped at the glass of water he still held in his hand.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 05:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Amp's expression surprisingly fell. Viridian Forest was quite a ways away for a Pikachu like her, and she didn't exactly have amazing means to travel. Seeing her family from this far was sadly more of a hassle than anything, at least to do it often. It was going to be a rarity now, sadly.

"Not... a lot, chu, but it's okay! I still send them letters and stuff." 'It's okay', yet her expression was still not as perky as usual. Her pack meant a lot to her, so to not see them so much was a bit disheartening.

She couldn't let that negativity reach Marie, though. Heavens no. She tried her best to turn that frown upside down. "Chuuu, what about your team? Do you see them a lot? Where do they come from? My pack comes from Viridian Forest!"
punchwaves: (10; marie is distraught.)

[personal profile] punchwaves 2010-11-28 06:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, Marie definitely noticed the sudden change in expression. It was hard to ignore that the over-excited, happy girl suddenly frowned. For a moment, Marie worried that he had struck a nerve. He didn't say anything, nor did he offer a kind expression. He just kind of watched her as she suddenly switched back into Super Happy Mode.

"They're from all over the place," he replied with a small smile. "My trainer, Red, is from Pallet Town. We met Vinnie around Vermillion City, and Sasha was at Mount Moon. Euphie was from Celadon City, I think. Sonny Moe was just outside Lavender Town. And Kojiro was from Fuchsia City, I think." Marie frowned. That was quite a lot to say in so little time. He sank into his chair a little.

"I get to see them a lot, though. They all go to this school," he added, quietly.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"They're from all over the place. My trainer, Red, is from-"

Just as he said that, Amp's mood rose even further, her smile visibly larger. Did he really mean that? Amp already knew Red, but she had no idea that Marie was his trainer of all people. Small world... er, or school.

"Red's your trainer?! I know him, chu!" She didn't recognize any of the other names, though. "What Pokemon are the other ones, though, chu? I don't know any of them!" She paused. "... Except I think I know Sasha, chu!"
punchwaves: (12; marie adores trainer.)

[personal profile] punchwaves 2010-11-29 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Yes, Red's my trainer," Marie replied proudly, but still slumped down in his seat. "Sasha's a Charizard, Vinnie's a Venusaur, Euphie is an Espeon, Sonny Moe is a Snorlax. And Kojiro is a Lapras," he listed, counting each of them off on his small fingers.

"How do you know Red?" he asked.

[identity profile] volttackler.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Ampere knew Sasha, but she still didn't quite know her species. In fact, all of the names seemed unfamiliar, although 'Venusaur' sure did sound a lot like 'Bulbasaur' and 'Ivysaur'. Perhaps they were related? She at least knew what a Bulbasaur and Ivysaur was.

Oh, the question. Right. Amp leaned back on her seat until her back pressed to it, a finger on her chin in thought. "Um, I think... we just met on the journal network before, chu! I don't know him well yet, but he's very nice already, chu! I bet your other teammates are nice, too!"
