Remember that box?
Who: Jeff Angel and Pit.
What: A promise to make dreamcatchers.
Where: BE-08
When: Saturday, June 19th, sometime in the morning.
The beginning of another weekend. It didn't mean much to Pit right now- lately he'd been forfeiting a lot of the free time he once had for piles of homework that were stacked in his mental to-do list. A good deal of the times he sat himself down to commit to assignments, the sun's inviting rays drew his focus away from the drab white and black of essays and worksheets and made his mind play in it. Soon, he would wind up thinking about something completely different, and lo and behold, Pit was snagged in a daydream.
He thought about this problem that morning when he sat near the end of his bedpost, cereal bowl in lap, spoon in his mouth. Stupid homework... He had friends he wanted to spend time with! But ah, work was so important... Palutena would not condone him slacking off. He had been lost in dreams when he should be paying attention to the work in front of him. But as he shuffled back through the hallways to wash his bowl clean, another thought hatched. Eureka!
Dreamcatchers. They caught dreams, right? Imagine if he could actually rack up all those pesky daydreams he'd been sinking in lately? Who knows if they really worked, anyway? An easy solution for sure. Haha. And Jeff said they would make them one day. That's right. Jeff said. But they hadn't done that yet. The whole idea must have been gently pushed aside for a later date. Even he forgot, just a little!
As he walked back to his room, he was inspired to ask Jeff about it. The day had barely started, so there was always all weekend to work on homework... To be honest, he missed spending quality time with his roommate. Jeff wasn't as easy to nudge into doing things with him, especially since they were both busy or off on separate agendas. He reentered and without worrying how Jeff would react, crawled on top of his roommate's bed as hepouted into read his book. Suddenly playful, he sat down like a cat, grinned, and pinched his toe.

"That could work," he nodded. "Although I should probably look up designs so she has some idea what to aim for. Not to mention I'll have to think about colors that match my side of the room, and..." Jeff started mumbling to himself.
orz for my lateness
it's fine~
"I... suppose so," the words left his lips before he even realized he was speaking. Covering up his surprise, he cleared his throat and continued in a confident tone. "Of course I'll have to brief you on what to look for, but two people searching would be much faster than one."

Shaking his head, he glanced over at his computer. "We may want to stop by the nearest fabric store too, just to see what they have. The more specific the request, the less chance that whoever won't mess it up."

only his favorite look ♥"Good idea." Wow, Jeff was really going through with this, and it seemed to him like he wanted to meticulously choose the right people to tailor the pillow and pick the perfect design. Somehow, it made him feel good.
Once again, those mysterious feelings overshadowed his thoughts. They might have been summoned by looking at Jeff for a moment too long and, with his heart aglow, he found himself needing to look away in a self-conscious effort. He didn't want Jeff to notice any weird behavior! So he spoke up again with nothing to say in mind. "Do... you know what kind of fabric you need?" At least it sounded like a valid question!

Oh right. Pit had asked him a question. Instead of staring back awkwardly at his roommate, perhaps it would have be better to answer the angel. ... Right.
"I suppose I should have numerous options, just in case. But maybe silk or cashmere would look the best and still be comfortable."

Why was he thinking about them holding hands at a dumb time like this?!
no subject
It's not like they were in a rush or anything. Jeff could be quite patient when necessary. ... Well okay, so maybe he wasn't the most patient person in the world, but he'd force himself to wait if need be.
Glancing over at his roommate, he noticed something seemed off. He couldn't quite place it, but something didn't seem right. He wondered why that was. Unconsciously, he took a few steps towards the brunet.

Okay, that was it. Eyebrows furrowing, he snapped, "What is it?" He stepped closer to the angel, trying to force Pit to look at him. If there was one thing among many things that Jeff did not like, it was people ignoring him.

Funny thing is, he never tried to back up. His hand caught his wrist. And then he didn't know what to do after that, or why he did in the first place.
hurp durp hope i'm reading this right
That was when the blond realized just how little space there was between them. Alright, so maybe Pit had been right. But that still didn't explain why the other was acting so--
... Close proximity. A flush on the angel's face. Their bodies barely touching.
A flashback to earlier that morning played in Jeff's mind. He looked straight into the other's eyes. "Are you... still thinking about that?"
you read it perfectly (let's hope next time I won't make things vague 8T)
And Jeff knew what was still on his mind.
Playing it dumb, he replied, "Nnno... I-I don't know what you're talking about..." This is bad... He couldn't let anything happen!
No, it's fine. I just shouldn't tag things at 1 AM ''orz
A snide comment was on the tip of his tongue. But he hesitated. Jeff had thought the topic was dropped and that they wouldn't discuss it again. But apparently it was bothering Pit more than the blond had thought. Reacting with a joke or an angry retort would just cause the angel to attempt to hide his discomfort. No, perhaps the best tactic was to be straightforward.
"I already told you," his tone was oddly calm, "You're not my type. There's no reason for you to..." worry? be scared? be embarrassed? "... over think it."
no subject
Calm... down. "Look... It's weird, I know. And I'm overreacting. There's nothing so strange about anything you told me. It's just. Me. I'm the one who's weird."
no subject
Okay, so he had called his roommate a few choice words before. Not to mention that almost everyone at the school could fall under the category of 'weird.' So what did that have to do with the current topic? At least Pit hadn't said that Jeff was in the wrong.
"Are you going to be more specific than that?"

How was Jeff supposed to react to that? Surely anything that he said or did would just make things awkward. And Pit was still holding his wrist.
"Alright," he replied in a reassuring tone. Whether he was trying to reassure himself or Pit, he didn't know. "That's fine. You don't have to know. It doesn't matter." Jeff wasn't even sure what he was saying anymore. "This doesn't change anything. You're still you and I'm still me and everything's exactly the same way it was before we even started this conversation."
Except that was a blatant lie. But like hell Jeff wasn't going to cling to every last shred of hope for normalcy he had.
no subject
Pit let go of his wrist and tried to straighten out so they could recover from that awkward moment. "Sorry about that. Just so you know, I... I don't think anything's changed between us, either. And if it did, let's not let it matter. All I care about is that you're you. You're definitely right." He began taking casual steps backwards.
no subject
"No need to apologize." 'If anything, I should be the one to--' "Let's just... not talk about it anymore, alright?"
He needed a distraction. Anything would do. Jeff glanced around the room. "The dream catchers," he suddenly said, "they... look good."
no subject
The sloppy pile of craft supplies strewn across the middle of the floor signaled to him that they should clean up. "I guess we should pick up now," Pit said as he walked past Jeff and bent down to scoop some feathers into his palm. "I learned how to make a dreamcatcher today!"

The blond paused, unsure whether Pit would understand his joke. With a shrug, he continued cleaning. Oh well.
