Tour 'Round Town.
Characters: Combusken, Midna, and Espio
Where: Town
When: Wed. 02 Jul. 2008
What: Espio gives Combusken a tour of the town as they get to know more about each other.
Rating: PG (there probably won't be swearing)
A little anxious and excited, Combusken got dressed (with the help of Chansey) and ready 30 minutes prior to her meeting time with Espio. Not wanting to be late, despite being early, she left the dorms in a hurry.
I'll have to buy something as thanks for Chansey-nee. Combusken thought thankfully as she looked at her clothes while walking. She smiled at the gentle sky blue hue of her tank top and played with its makeshift flowers, which lined the top of the shirt. Adding a slight spring to each of her steps, she enjoyed the tapping sounds her aqua blue cowboy boots made.
Spotting the town and their meeting place in front of a clock post, Combusken softly tugged down on the white hems of her milk chocolate shorts before taking a seat on a bench.
I wonder if he'll say anything about how I look. Chansey-nee said he would. she wondered as she admired the small light blue handbag Chansey lent her. Humming a cheery tune to one of her favorite songs, she grinned as she eagerly waited for Espio to arrive.

He was mostly in his usual outfit, of dark gray pants and tank top, though he had on a collared, short-sleeve shirt over his tank top left unbuttoned.
The incident that occurred a few days ago was still in his mind; the parting was very unexpected, and the surge of power was something he had not encountered before. He had no clue where the other had disappeared to and was lost of what to do in this incident. In a way, the chameleon was responsible for triggering what had happened on the rooftop that day.
He walked on, deep in thought, and almost passed by the clock post when he realized where he was. He stopped walking and looked around, and noticed Combusken sitting on a bench at the opposite side.
"Hello, I hope I didn't make you wait for too long." Espio called out as he walked up to the other.
"So, is there something in particular you would like to see first?"
no subject
"Espio!" Combusken called out with glee as she immediately stood up to greet him. "Hi, and I didn't wait long at all!" Skipping to his side, she looked at the shops all around them.
"Hm..." she hummed, placing a finger on her chin, "I'm not really sure. Do you have a place in mind that would be fun to see? We can probably just walking around until we see something we like."
no subject
He crossed his arms across his chest, pondering for a moment.
"...Perhaps we should go along with the latter." Espio responded to the other. "I normally spend the day training or studying, so I am not sure which places are enjoyable."
Espio laughed weakly, giving an unsure smile at the other as he lightly scratched the back of his head.
Perhaps this tour will get his mind off of his troubles for once. There was nothing he could do regarding the black hedgehog at the moment; if he ever finds out where the other had disappeared to, he would be able to take some action. But now, it was to give an enjoyable tour around the city with Combusken.

"Okay! We can do that then. Maybe we can find something here that you would enjoy, Espio," Combusken said. Humming a little and taking a few steps forward, she turned slightly to look at Espio. "Shall we get going then?"
no subject
The confusing feeling that continued to linger made it feel awkward for the chameleon to be there. He drew out a small sigh and shook his head.
Get a hold of yourself...

"Okay! How about we start in this direction then?" Combusken asked with excitement. She pointed ahead of her and waited patiently for Espio to follow beside her. "After all, we're just touring around the town, so it would make sense to walk around, right? There seem to be a lot of places to go and look at."
no subject
"Of course." He replied with a nod. He looked towards the direction Combusken pointed before taking the lead and start walking.
"This area consists mainly of fashion stores...though I believe it's obvious." He said, scratching his head, feeling a bit awkward to talk.
This tour guide role is difficult for someone who normally didn't talk a lot.
no subject
Ahhhhh! I really hope Espio didn't hear that...
Laughing nervously, Combusken kept her hands on her stomach as a futile attempt to prevent it from grumbling again.
"So, uh, um, d-do you want to have some lunch, Espio?" she asked, still flustered.
no subject
"It is almost noon," he responded as he gazed up at the sky.
"There are a few restaurants down the block in the direction we are heading. What kind of meal would you like to have?"
no subject
Combusken grew flustered as she felt silly for not knowing what she had wanted to eat. After all, most of the meals she had were from the cafeteria and they were especially given to her after careful consideration of a friend. Scratching the back of her head, she looked down at the ground a little bit out of shame for her lack of knowledge on human food.
"Um, well, I-I... don't really know what I'd like to eat..." Combusken said lamely and feeling pathetic. "M-Maybe we could go eat something that you like?"
Then a thought hit her that made her feel a little bit better.
Ohhhh, that's right. If I can find out what Espio likes to eat, then maybe I can ask Chansey-nee or Peach-nee to teach me how to make it.
Looking up at the magenta-haired man nervously, she eagerly waited to hear what he liked to eat.

Espio blinked over at the other before noticing that it was around lunch time.
"My favorite meals? I tend to prefer light-tasting meals, though Asian cuisine, especially sushi, is my favorite." The ninja thought out loud, with a hand at his chin.
"They're rather expensive meals though, and I'm rather picky about how foreigners make the dishes also..."
no subject
"Um... is it hard to make?" she wondered out loud as he said it was "expensive" and he was "picky" about how it was made. Must be complicated.
no subject
"Sushi mainly consists of raw fish and cooked rice. The most popular type of sushi would be called nigirizushi, where the cook makes a mouth-sized work of art consisting of a thin slice of raw fish on top of a mound of rice big enough for bite-size." He stopped talking there, seeing he was probably talking a bit too fast for the other to understand what he was saying.
"Hmm, I'm unsure whether there is a pleasant place in the town..." Espio thought, a hand to his chin as he looked around his surroundings.
no subject
I-I... I don't get it at all!! she thought in horror. She quickly ran through the few words that she was able to catch onto to see if she could make any sense of his intense explanation. M-Maybe... It's a popular piece of art? I didn't know food could be a type of art... Her brows furrowed as a sign of her mind being in deep thought. When he says 'mound of rice', does he mean a pile of it? Isn't that... too much? I don't think I can eat that much!
By this point, she was sobbing in her mind.
B-But... he said bite-size... and... what is "raw fish"? Wah! This sushi is so complicated.
Combusken meekly nodded at what Espio said, mentally exhausted from trying to interpret his description on sushi.
"W-Well... I hope that we can find a nice place..."
no subject
To his luck, he saw a sushi restaurant with the name he recognized. It was one of the more decent place for him to meal at, though it wasn't his favorite. Perhaps he could buy ingredients to make some sushi and make some himself, if the kitchen classrooms could be used for personal meals.
"We can go into that place." Espio responded to Combusken's question, pointing towards the building.
"Let's go."
