Well, she told herself she would do it. Now it was only a question of who would Lash come upon first. Deep breaths, calming voice, being in control. She could do that easily. The hardest part was how the other person would react, and keeping her short fuse in check.

It was a recipe for disaster, that was for certain.

((OOC - Much like an open office log, you tell me what date, time and where your character is. I will have Lash moving all around the school looking for victims and she has three days off from work, so anywhere from 6am to midnight is fine.

"I know what you mean, really. Couple months back, you might've heard, Char left. It was nerve racking." He sighed. "You're more of a trainer than I like to admit, Lash. The team is always more family than comrade."

She laughed at that comment.

"I asked Xatu a few weeks ago if he thought I was a trainer."

"What did he think?"

"That I wasn't a trainer at all. My methods are different." Yet she was smiling as she said it.

He smiled because she did. "I said you were like one, not that you were. Has Xatu ever had a trainer to know what the comparison would be, anyways?"

"He does. He sends her letters once in a while, I think. I don't pry in his personal life."

"Hm..." Green stretches his arms up. "Do you want to be one?"

"Maybe." She thought about it. "But then again, after having Xatu, Siren, Ho-Oh, Lugia and Scyther in my team, if I start over and for real it would seem weird, you know?"

"Who's to say they can't just join your team right off the bat? No one said you had to go through the whole collection process. You're right, though, it wouldn't be the same."

"Well I'd have to bother Ho-Oh and Lugia first, but they deserve some time off." She grinned. "And getting my first Ratticate after all of that just sounds wrong. I mean..no offence to Ratticates...but...it's a Ratticate."

"Not everyone is out to catch them all. Some just want the challenge of battle, and to see the sights." He flips out his Pokedex to scroll through. "I know I've been slacking a bit on the collecting part, myself. Better not to get too caught up in any of it until you're away from the school, though."

"Yeah but you've got a heck of a bonus here." She took our her own Pokedex, it was much older than his.

"When I scanned Arceus, it didn't know what to tell me. I didn't know a Pokedex could be speechless."

"You need to keep them updated, and sometimes old hardware is just that, old hardware. Maybe next time Gramps comes along, you can see if he has any spares. Might help, I haven't bothered scanning Arceus yet, it's... different."

"Maybe I should just perform upgrades myself...and yeah, Arceus sure is something. Not what I was expecting at all. She was married to Olaf, what the heck."

He laughed and stood up. "Good luck on the whole upgrading thing. You can't exactly update it with Pokemon information you don't know."

"There's a way to connect them to the Pokenet, right?"

Lash didn't know if it was called the Pokenet, but they should have at least a webpage, right?

"It... doesn't quite work like that. As they learn more about how Pokemon live, it knows what to detect in unrecognized species. They all have information on the common pokemon, of course. Rattata, HootHoot, Magikarp and the like. Not many people are going to see every Pokemon, however, so it doesn't waste the space of recording everything for everyone. It briefly explains what you see, as best it can, and then provides more updated information when you plug it in at a PokeCenter." Green knows this shit, his grandfather designed it. "So yeah, its not as simple as amping the power, or fluxing the capacitors, or whatever it is you would do."

To be honest, Lash had never seriously thought about updating her Pokedex before. With Ho-Oh and Lugia it didn't seem like she needed one. Now it was almost a way of connecting with the times she had been with them, in an odd way.

"I guess maybe getting a new model might work better then. But I'll see what I can do with this one, tee hee."

"Just don't break it, those things aren't cheap, you know."

"Don't worry, I'm real gentle with mechanical things. It can't be more complicated than a 6 rotor-coil death ray."

"I suppose not?" Deathrays weren't something he knew much about, but that sounded fancy.

His watch beeped. That watch Green always totally wears. "Almost time for practice. Interested in joining us, see who's going to beat you down?"

That almost sounded interesting!

"Sure why not. It's Thursday night."

And so her 2nd day ended on a not-that-terrible note.
