Well, she told herself she would do it. Now it was only a question of who would Lash come upon first. Deep breaths, calming voice, being in control. She could do that easily. The hardest part was how the other person would react, and keeping her short fuse in check.

It was a recipe for disaster, that was for certain.

((OOC - Much like an open office log, you tell me what date, time and where your character is. I will have Lash moving all around the school looking for victims and she has three days off from work, so anywhere from 6am to midnight is fine.

Yes, girls can come too.

Great Ganondorf, what...oh. Oh! It had somehow never really entered Lash's mind that Nabooru and Ganondorf might be something of an couple, considering her own relationship with her commander which she really didn't want to think about right now, come to think of it. Ganondorf didn't seem to be the type of guy who would settle just for someone either. Maybe there was more to him than she was giving him credit for. Or he was just playing favorites with Nabooru.

"Ahh, I see! Well, it does look really nice on you." Repeating the same compliment twice? For shame. She was having a much more difficult time trying to flirt with girls, it seemed. There was just an edge missing, and the fact it was Friday night, probably.

Nabooru would have argued that. Ganondorf was her king. She was his second-in-command. Cultural tradition would have explained the jewel thing better. She just wanted to look good for him, right? Nothing wrong with that, and anyone else who thought there was could meet a sword to the face.

Her chin lifted in a bit of a haughty manner. Really, did she need her ego inflated anymore? Apparently she did, because Lash was striking that note that she oh-so-enjoyed. Although, Nabooru didn't put it together that perhaps there was something more to it. "Thanks. Always good to hear I look good. Doesn't hurt that it comes from a cute girl too."

Uhhh, did she just get flirted back? Was Nabooru just being nice? This week had left her completely confused. She idly blinked a few seconds at her remark before holding up one of her fingers and saying something she immediately regretted.

"Are you coming on to me?"

"Coming onto you?"

Nabooru paused and she simply stared at Lash for a few moments. Then she laughed. It was loud, hearty, and genuine, no malice hiding in it. "No. That's how I talk to everyone. Are you trying to learn how to be charming? That's sort of adorable."

She was good. Too good. Lash was almost jealous about everything about her - the fact she had guessed it, the fact she looked incredibly pretty, and the fact she had a gigantic necklace around her neck. The grass was just greener somewhere else, apparently.

"How did you know?"

To be fair, Nabooru put a lot of effort into her success. It wasn't handed to her. Looking pretty? That was luck. Necklaces? She worked to prove her worth to Ganondorf, otherwise he wouldn't have wasted a minute on her. She was just fortunate. She'd never admit it, though. She'd milk it all.

"You're trying too hard. If you push yourself onto people, you might turn them off, so you've got to be a little more sly and inconspicuous. If you know the target's into the hardcore stuff, then you can do stuff like rubbing up against them. And if you're talking to men, talk about them. They like talking about themselves. You have to make them think you're interested in them."

If only Lash knew. It was hard to do anything when just a year ago you didn't even understand the concept of love, much less flirting.

She gave a little snort at her last comment. "I tried that, actually. They always end up confused and not sure what to talk about. Except for Mario. I think I fell asleep halfway."

"Hmmmm..."

Nabooru tapped at her chin thoughtfully. She'd never had a problem with flirting with people, men and women alike. She wasn't the most graceful person, but lots of people tended to like that.

"I didn't mean make them think you're crushing on them. You can't idolize them either. Just appeal to the things they like. You can't ask them what they like either. You've got to work in sneaky ways for the most part. Offer to help them. Offer to go places with them. We can't all work the same, so my methods might not work for you."

Which was a shame, but the inevitable truth. Nabooru probably did lots of things that others couldn't do, but she was also a very different kind of person.

Lash was more "Shoot first, see if there are legs left over" type of person.

"I don't think I've ever idolized anyone," she admitted. "I go where I want to go, and do what I want to do. I tend to hang around people who have the same interests at me but I don't think I could..."

Thinking about trying to woo some of the people she actually cared for...well...she suddenly flushed a very interesting shade of red.

Oh, she was a bit endearing, really. Nabooru saw that blush of the cheeks and tipped her head to the side. "Oh. So that's how it is. Look, when it comes right down to it, nothing beats spending time with that someone special. That sort of line is entirely different, though."

She folded her arms across her chest thoughtfully, "In times like that, you can't always be with the one you want to, in the way you want to. Seriously, you'll come to a point where it's awesome just to be in their company. That's what I really consider love."

It was the first time she'd ever said it, but damn, it sure sounded good to her.

"Y-yeah I..." There were problems. "There are a few problems about that."

Lash had a feeling this was going to turn in some sort of therapy, so she slumped into an empty chair in the corridor.

"It's not that I don't want to. It's just..." She knew if she continued on, she'd out herself. Or maybe Nabooru didn't really bother reading up all of the journal entries from everyone like she did. "There's a few of them...two of them mainly. One has been gone since late summer. We had the same interests, he was nice but...he's gone, right? The other..." she sighed. "My Commander. Said quite clearly that he doesn't care about love. Not to me but..what's the point, then?"

She paused and twitched her hands, hating looking so weak. Finally, she managed to give the other girl at smile, assuming a few things. "I'm happy you feel that way about him, however." Even if she wouldn't touch Ganondorf with a ten foot pool.

Ha, ha. That sounded funny. All of this nonsense with commanders and love and that sort of thing. She paused a little bit at the thought of ousting herself.

"I didn't say anything about me loving my commander. I was just talking in general." She fidgeted a little and her expression dropped a little, "You're giving up too easily, Lash. If you want something, you've really got to go for it while you've got the chance. Otherwise, you'll regret it. So instead of giving up, just keep your chin up."

She smiled again, "Try your best, okay? Let's both try our best."

"Oh!" Funny it almost seemed that... "I thought you..." Maybe Nabooru had her own reasons for not saying it outright. Lash could respect that. In an odd way, they were in a similar situation. Except Ganondorf seemed more like someone who could unwind, unlike a certain birdbrain she knew. The Gerudo King didn't seem to against about love either, hell he taught it.

"I'm not going to give up," she beamed. "It would be an insult to a wunderkind like me."

She'd make her choice. Then...watch out world.

She laughed, "N-no way! It's not like that!" It wasn't like she didn't want to say it. She simply wanted to respect Ganondorf. He had his position to watch out for. There was no way she wanted to ruin that for him. As a result, she had to stand by her commitment and loyalty.

"That's exactly right. It would be an insult. This academy needs girls like you and me to put people in their rightful places. So let's never change. We have to stick together."

"Right!" Lash grinned at the fellow student. Putting people in their rightful places sounded like her, alright. "How else will our commanders get by if we don't?"

Nabooru was a lot more interesting that Lash would have first thought her to be.

"Exactly. They need us most of all."

She wasn't real sure about that, but it sounded like the right thing to say at the time and with how enthusiastic Lash had gotten, she probably needed to hear it. Confidence, like smiles, and like pouts was infectious. As long as Nabooru could act like she had an inflated ego, then she could pass that onto other people.

It's not like Lash didn't have an inflated ego, but the confidence boost most certainly was needed. She felt a lot better than she had first talking with her.

"Yeah they do! ...Uhh, I guess I'll talk to you later then?" Uuurgh. She was so bad as saying goodbye.

"You sure will. Let me know if you need anything, okay? I'm rooming with Avi and sometimes she's not the best company if you know what I mean. The breaks are good for me and I like being around people."

Solitude was nice every now and then, but it was a little crazy if she got too much of it.

"Take good care of yourself, Lash, and look me up."

"Sure thing! If you ever need a death ray, just find me in room 13. I'm rooming with Kumatora, but she's pretty awesome, so I can't complain." There was a pause before her eyes lit up.

"Oh! You're coming to the sleepover too, right? It's okay if you don't but I'm sure it would be fun with you and all the other girls."

"Sleepover? I'll have to think about that one and I'll get back to you on it. I'll catch you later, Lash," Nabooru chuckled.

A hand lifted and she gave a wave, or as much of one as she was accustomed to giving. Then she glanced around once more, and her feet moved. She couldn't remember what she'd meant to do before Lash had come along. She'd have to figure that out again.
