EVERYONE SUCKS AT PHYSICS: THE MOVIE: THE GAME: THE ANIME: THE ACTION FIGURE: THE OPEN LOG
Who: Falcon, Pit, everyone who sucks at physics or doesn't suck at physics or just wants to have a study party or just wants to bother Falcon or faculty lurkers or anything ever.
What: A 3-kg object is released from rest at a height of 5m on a curved frictionless ramp. At the foot of the ramp is a spring of force constant k = 100 N/m. The object slides down the ramp and into the spring, compressing it a distance x before coming to rest. Does the object continue to move after it comes to rest? If yes, how high will it go up the slope before it comes to rest?
When: The afternoon of Friday the thirteenth, after school.
Where: Falcon's awesome science classroom of awesome science.
Rating: PG-13.
So everyone sucked at physics. Which was really nothing new to Falcon. Most people sucked at physics. Tutoring sessions had always been an inevitable constant. The Captain had agreed to spend some time helping Pit, but he knew how these things worked. Pit would invite a few people, who would invite a few people, and in five minutes flat it would be a regular party. Which was not necessarily the way he wanted to spend a Friday afternoon, but he had to try and help the students save their grades, or at least give them some kind of encouragement. He was a teacher and that was his job.
Still hoping that it would be just Pit (but somehow knowing it wouldn't be), he hadn't really bothered to do anything to the classroom to make it more conducive to the study party. Instead, he was seated at the desk, feet propped, watching porn computer in his lap, waiting for the angel to show.
[It is day thirteen of No-Shave November and Dougie Jay's beard is glorious. Or horrendous. It's a fine line.
Feel free to jump in wherever and whenever! Make threads! Bother whoever! Ask Falcon physics questions! Ask Falcon awkward questions that have nothing to do with physics! Ask Falcon for life advice! Make up a lab! Blow things up! Get answers! Maybe!]
