Open Log: FOOTBALL I mean SOCCER!!

Who: Daisy, anyone who wants to play
What: An impromptu normal, boring soccer match.
Where: The sports field
When: Saturday morning/afternoon
Warnings: Balls.  Everywhere.

After hearing a few people agree to a soccer match on her journal, Daisy decided to go set up a game and see who showed up.  She changed into her soccer outfit, grabbed a bag full of soccer balls from the gym, and hauled them all out to the field.  While she wanted to see who happened by, she took one of the balls out and started to kick it around, practicing some of the moves she remembered from Mario Strikers.

King Boo floated onto the field, a ball somehow rolling in front of him as if he was kicking it. He approached Daisy.

"So I guess this is just a normal, boring soccer match because Weegee doesn't want to get hurt?" he asked with a scornful tone.

And here's Mario rushing off to the field. He had his soccer clothes on, but he was really just expecting to get some practice by himself. It had been a while since he'd played some good soccer, and since he was on the football team now, he figured he'd try to stay as in shape as possible especially since he wasn't getting exercise from rescuing the Princess all the time. He wasn't really expecting anyone else to be there, until he saw Daisy and King Boo.

"Ah, how-a are you guys? Wanted to-a get some practice in too?"

Luigi ran towards Daisy, King Boo, and Mario. He hoped King Boo wouldn't cause any trouble.

"Hi!" Luigi waved as soon as he got closer to them. "I hope I'm not late."

Sovver. That was the one where you weren't allowed to use your hands, right? Or was it the one with the tall piece of stick and the rope on a string and two little paddles?

Either way, Knuckles was ready. So long as it involved a lot of movement, he'd consider it part of his daily training regimen.

"You're just in time," Daisy told Mario and Luigi. "This gas bag here has been calling Luigi a coward!" she scoffed. "Are you gonna take that?"

She waved a greeting to Knuckles, kicking a ball in his direction.

Nester was here, just to observe and think about how soccer sucks while he played his Game Bra Color. He loved playing Shantal with that... cross-dressing belly dancing dude. It was a weird concept, but he still liked the gameplay itself.

Knuckles gave Daisy a wave back and stopped the ball rolling with his foot. It -was- the no-hands game. Right. He flicked the ball into the air with his foot and headbutted it back to her. "Yo!"

He saw that Luigi was here. He'd heard rumors to that effect... but he'd hold his tongue. Despite what had happened in the past with the floro sprouts and everything, it wasn't worth ruining the game. He walked over and gave Mario a playful punch in the shoulder. "Hey man."

Huh. Man there was a lot of people here today. Besides what was he in time for? And then he noticed Knuckles punch and that earns a smile and a small chuckle. "Knuckles, it'sa good to see you. How'sa Goombella?"

Who was that? Why, it was Amy dashing out onto the field. Even if it was kind of cold out for her usual outfit worn for sports, she knew it'd get warmer once the game went on.

"Hey guys!" She gave Daisy a wave. "Hey Daisy!" Oh, and since Knuckles are here too he got a wave.

Daisy bumped the ball with her chest, dropping it and kicking it between her feet. "Hey, Amy!" she greeted. "We're getting quite the crowd here!"

SOCCER. Yoshi was so there even though his mun had never played Mario Strikers. He ran out onto the field waving with both arms. "Yoshi is ready to play!"

"Hey, Yoshi!" she greeted cheerfully. "Well, we've got 8 people here, so we could do 4 on 4 if you want? Three players per side and a goalie?"

"Goombella is doing great!" Knuckles replied with a grin. "We should hang out some time, the three of us." He also gave Amy and Yoshi a wave. "Hey guys!"

When Daisy announced her intended rules, Knuckles nodded. "The goalie can use thier hands, right? Maybe I'll be a goalie."

I bet I could punch the ball from my goal right into thiers....

King Boo floated up and down eagerly. "I can use my mouth, right? That's the only way I can shoot."
