Where: Melissa and Kyle's dorm.

Falcon was...coping.

Yes, coping was a good word for it. Heartswaps, by nature kind of sucked major balls and this one was no different. Having this one be his second was just icing on the cake. But he was thankful for that, in a strange way, mostly because it allowed him to...well..cope.

Except he was short and a girl and taking her earrings off resulted in very bad things and making an effort to speak in the third person was kind of getting to be a huge pain. Falcon wasn't sure why he was making his way to Melissa's dorm with a plethora of art supplies, besides the fact that he didn't want Ionia to have to deal with a disappointed fiance when she had her body back. Saving face. That's what this was. Suck it up and pretend to be Ionia and deal with Melissa for a few hours, and then go do more important things. Like keep the real Ionia under control.

In hindsight, brining the drawing supplies was probably not a good idea. Ionia could draw but he couldn't. And that's what the two of them did, right? Well, that and plan a wedding. He knocked on the door.

...Well, if anything this was going to be an adventure.

About time! Ever since the engagement, Melissa was antsy to start planning. But... well, they had only shared invitation lists. And that's it. They didn't even have a date planned!

When there was finally a knock on the door, Melissa shot up from her seat on Kyle's bed, promptly tripped on the sheets and comforter, and ran to the door after a quick recovery. "IONIA'S HERE," she announced- maybe a bit too loudly- to Kyle before she opened the door.

"Hello, come on in," she said, retreating from the door but still holding it open with one hand. "Mr. Hyde is here too," she added, gesturing to Kyle with a small head-jerk in his direction.

Well, someone had missed the memo about the heartswap. Had he actually received the news, Kyle would've at least been able to give Melissa some kind of excuse so that Falcon could go about his business and make sure Ionia wasn't Falcon punching buildings in half or crashing his car into the swimming pool or... Whatever it was Ionia would probably do unsupervised.

"Are you ok-- nevermind." He probably would've been a little more concerned, if Melissa hadn't jumped right back up after tripping. "Hey, Ionia," Kyle waved, "Feeling any better?"

Melissa, completely disregarding the fact that Kyle had said anything to Ionia, replied, "We can draw. But we also have lots of business to talk about." She gave Ionia a very serious look before continuing, "We should talk about the wedding."

She turned and found a good, empty spot on the floor. And plopped down, waiting for Ionia to follow suit.

"If you want to color, you can too, Mr. Hyde."

Oh, Falcon, you are about to be sorely disappointed.

"You should draw..." Melissa cocked her head to one side and sucked at her teeth, "I don't know. You should draw... Nancy," she answered, nodding confidently. She grabbed one of the papers Ionia had spread out and a green marker.

"Remember how when you said when we get married we're going to share Mr. Falcon, and you said I'd have to share my mom and dad with you?" Melissa asked, lowering her voice to a whisper- though not particularly quiet, "Mr. Hyde said it's alright if I share him instead," she continued. While she spoke, she drew. A lovely picture of Kyle (http://i43.tinypic.com/2nvb4he.jpg).

She glanced over at Ionia's drawing, popping the cap back onto the green marker. "Are you sure you're not still sick?" She rolled onto her back and pouted at her Pikmin-friend. Alright, so Melissa's drawing was about as good as Ionia's was. But Ionia was also about a thousand times better at drawing than Melissa was.

For a moment, Melissa was inclined to ask 'Why?', but then came up with about a dozen reasons as to why someone might want to draw with their weaker hand. Instead, she settled for a calm, "Oh, okay," and took another look at Ionia's drawing. It wasn't that bad...

"Hey," she started again, rolling back onto her front. "Since you brought over your good markers and stuff, maybe we could make the invitations."

Melissa stood, and went to the coffee table. Underneath a pile of newspapers and other things, she found her invite list. "We still don't have a date, huh?" she mused, returning to her previous spot and sitting back down.

"I don't know," Melissa replied, pouting. "I think we should pick a date kinda far away so that everyone has time to know that we're getting married."

Abruptly, Melissa turned and looked at Kyle. "Mr. Hyde," she started, unnecessarily loud, "What day is a good day to get married?" Obviously a grown-up would know more about getting married than Melissa or Ionia did. And since Rawk Hawk wasn't here to ask.

"A good day to get married?" Kyle repeated, "...Good question." He was probably one of the worst people to ask about weddings, fake-pretendy-playtime ones or not. Geeze, where was a colander calendar when you needed one? "I don't know, what about July?" He shrugged, "You might want to ask Mr. Falcon about it later, anyway."

[identity profile] stairblock.livejournal.com 2009-05-23 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"July..." Melissa repeated, thoughtfully. Melissa could only go up to May in months, but she nodded in agreement anyways. "Okay, thank you Mr. Hyde."

She turned back to her fancy fiance and frowned. "So I guess you don't want to make invitations today, huh?"

((d-derp sorry for the sucky tag))

It didn't take much to make Melissa turn her frown upside down turn her frown upside down. She nodded again, easing back onto her stomach. "That sounds okay to me."
