It had been a long time since the last time Midna ventured up to the school's rooftop. It had been more in the evening though, without the bright and cheery afternoon sun lighting everything. Normally she would have been avoiding the contact, but today she really just didn't care. Various happenings were making her feel restless and the girl simply felt she needed to get outside for a bit.

Midna climbed up the short ladder, grinning at the first thing she saw as she crawled over the edge. Was she surprised? Not at all. Midna wandered over to the figure, grinning at him. "Fancy seeing you here, Rayquaza."

Of course Rayquaza was up on the roof. His hands were crossed behind his back in a smilar fashion as to when Red found him up there the other day, and he had his eyes closed to block out the dimming sun. The roof was were he spent most of his day and where he slept most of the time. He'd rather be up here than be stuffed in a classroom or the dormroom he shared with the electric rat.

It was quiet. Calming. So close to the sky. Some place he could really just relax in. And he hardly got visitors. Well, until recently. Not that he minded seeing Red or Midna.

So when her head of bright orange hair popped up from the mouth of the ladder and she spoke, Rayquaza only smirked back and turned his head to face her. "Hm. Fancy indeed. And what brings you to this pleasant side of the rooftop?"

Oh ho ho ho. So funny.

He wasn't even going to say anything to that. He just turned his head back to the sky, crooking his neck so he wouldn't pull his hair. It was a natural thing. He wasn't bothered at all by her prescence up on the rood, the warmth of her up by his side.

"Oh you know how it is," Ray started with a chuckle because he knew he could be an idiot around Midna. He pointed at a cloud to the far right. "That cloud moved to the spot in the past half hour and that one," he pointed to some miscellenious cloud. "seems pretty pissed about it. It may start something."

He knew he sounded like a idiot. And Midna would probably point that out. But again, he just didn't care. Whatever.

Rayquaza just laughed.

"It's gonna get caught in the crossfire," he agreed with the silly scenario. Then he sputtered a bit at Midna's last comment. "Looks like it."

The over-sized pokemon slipped his hands behind his head again and just turned to give Midna a lop-sided smirk. That was fun.

The silence was comfortable. That was what was nice about sitting with Midna. If there was a silence it was never really awkward. It was just silence.

But Rayquaza was watching her carefully. And he wasn't really sure if he was picking up on the right things, but it was worth a shot. The idiotic spell passed and his grin straightened into a thin line.

"You seem bothered, almost."

Ray simply quirked an eyebrow.

Maybe a bit. How vague. He suppossed he should be used to that by now, but enh.

He perked up a little as she spoke and he turned to face the Twili girl completely. He hadn't heard much from Midna lately so he could only assume what she had to tell him. He scratched his cheek with another lopsided grin. "Oh really?"

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-04 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
...

Ray stared at her. For a good ten seconds at least. He had noticed the hesitation but had knocked it off as her thinking of how to say it.

"Okay..."

It wasn't that he didn't care. Okay wait. It wasn't that he didn't care about Midna. He cared about her. He just didn't care about labels like that. Princess? Might as well call her a legendary. She held some power.

"Impressive. 'Never would have guessed."

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-04 08:38 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, thinking about it though, there is a bit of royalty. So I guess that's why it takes the edge off it. Like, 'okay.'" He blinked, rolling over his attempt at an explanation. "Not to mush you in with all the other blue-bloods... but yeah..."

Rayquaza smirked then and held his hand over his heart in fake-hurt. "No? Not today? Oh well. I'll wait for you till the end of time, dahling. Take your time getting over your fondest feelings for me."

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-04 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
Rayquaza turned and quirked his head to the side, more towards Midna so he could see what she was tracing. "Mmmhmmm." He was a good listener; always had been a better listener than a talker. As pokemon or human.

So, he let the Twili girl talk and he let himself mull over her words carefully. In an odd way, he understood completely. Why had he gone to Sumabura in the first place? To get away from being a legendary and all the responsibilities that came with it. He had wanted to do his own thing for a while, and had somehow ended up in the school. But he wouldn't make this conversation about him. He met her sheepish look with an understanding smile. "Yeah, it does. I get it."

And then he laughed again. He moved his hand over his eyes to shield the sun, but he tried to make it as dramatic looking as possible. For effect of course. Because they were idiots. Of course. "That's too bad! You don't feel all fluttery and giggly like the other girls when a certain guys passes you by, huh?"

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-05 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
He hummed under his breath. "You needed time. No big deal." It honestly wouldn't have mattered when she had told him. Before. After. Midna was one of his closest friends, he wouldn't have treated her any different. He knew how that made things awkward. Enh, he shouldn't dwell on that. He was happy Midna could trust him, though. That was... comforting. In a way? If that made sense.

Rayquaza smiled, thinking about it. "Yea? I can imagine. That was a good day." It was wonderful to be able to fly so freely like that. He probably didn't get the same fluttery feeling, but he knew that after a couple days of being in this human form, he certainly got a rush from flying again.

"So sneaky I didn't even realize myself!" He added on, meeting her smirk with another quirk of the eyebrow.

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-06 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Rayquaza shrugged in a similar fashion as his friend. "What can you do?" He wouldn't tell her that he was imaging her with those sparkly kids, dressed in pink, and drinking tea like prim proper royalty they were. He stifled the chuckle ecause he knew Midna would kill him.

He gasped, holding his hands over his chest. "I apologize, my dear! Whatever can I do to make it up to you?"

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-07 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Rayquaza looked back up at the sky as she pointed. The clouds had moved again, leaving the sky a little clearer. The sun hid behind thin clouds and Ray shielded his eyes with his hand again. It was good to fly now, but it was too sudden.

He nodded anyways. "Sure." He was due for flight soon anyways. He hadn't gone up since... the incident with the pokeblocks. And Red. And holding his hand. Ray shook the thought quickly. This really wasn't the time.

"Next time. And I'll take you somehwere nice too." Maybe a mountain or something. Somewhere where the view was beautiful.

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Rayquaza grinned and then like he had read her weird Twili mind, decided to go with his first thought. "Unless you want to go now. 'Sky's clear enough!"

He scratched his cheek. He didn't remember exactly where it was, but surely he could find that valley... or summit... or whatever it was again. Definetly one of the best views he had seen since he arrived at Sumabura.

[identity profile] air-locked.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 05:59 pm (UTC)(link)
With that, Ray promptly stood up. He stretched his arms and bent over backwards to stetch himself out entirely before turning and offering his hand to Midna. "I thought so.

We need to get away frome the school, though, otherwise I'll squish it." He laughed with a hint of embarrassment.
