Despite knowing this, however, Link was heading in without a weapon. Surely Linebeck couldn't be that dangerous? He figured-- it was just Linebeck. Seduced--possesed by whatever was going around the school.
He knocked on the entrance to Linebeck's office. "Linebeck?" And his voice was firm. Not nervous or anxious like he had come off as earlier in the year. This was serious. As if he was walking into another battle. He had to be confident. He had to be ready for anything.
Just like old times...

Linebeck just gave an off-handed smirk, but did not say anything.

Link stood in the doorway, his hands balled into tight fists at his side. He.. he tried to laugh though, if only for a second. See if this really was how it is. "You're not gonna yell at me? 'What do ye want ya green monkey brat!'?"
Words died on his lips as a frown set into his features again. Why did bad things always happen to the people he got close to? Aryll got kidnapped--that started this mess. Tetra got kidnapped. Turned to stone. That started a whole new mess. Linebeck got possesed. Linebeck got possesed again. (what sorta mess was that?)
And Link was the hero, right? Of course. He could fix this. He could save Linebeck again-- help stop whoever started this whole brainwashing thing
or not. This should be easy. Like old times, he tried to remind himself again. Except this wasn't really Bellum. Or maybe it was. But Linebeck wasn't covered in armor this time. It was just him. Just Linebeck. And Link didn't want to fight him.He wasn't going to say anything more. He wasn't going to do anymore besides stand in this doorway; maybe purse his lips and narrow his brow because he knew the inevitable was coming. He didn't want to start this fight. Start this whole 'nother mess. If Linebeck wanted to, no matter what state he was in, he would have to make the first move.

"Kill," he simply said.

How was he going to do this! He didn't even know what was controlling Linebeck this time!
Link pulled himself into a defensive state, still refusing to attack his
belovedteacher.((Kyleeee. Is the sprout visible or uh-- does he even have one LOL?))

Despite his figure, Linebeck did do a lot of pirate-style fighting back in his rebel days. Somewhat regaining that flexibility, the pirate now kicked low in order to trip the boy and then punched again.

The smaller boy grit his teeth and one tan fist made contact with his face and he skid backwards a bit. His hands slapped over where he had been hit; right below his eye. Cheek. He could feel it brusing already.
"LINEBECK!"
He knew calling out wouldn't do anything but... Shaking the thougt, Link narrowed his eyes further, turning to face the teacher. He was going to fix this. He was going to snap Linebeck out of this. So he grabbed the item closest to him. A book. He was going to lay a beat down with a book. Lovely.

Gripping the book tight in his hands, Link started to run the small length seperating the two. He raised the book over his head and Oshu's teachings flooded through, as if he were really holding his sword again.
He swung sideways, hoping to hit Linebeck in the side.
"HYEEAAAH"If he doubled over he could hit him in the head. Otherwise he would have to resort to jumping and swinging.

Linebeck slightly flinched, and fell back a little.
GRRRrrrrrrmmmph...

Suddenly those cat eyes of his picked up on something. There was something... green peeking out from the tufts of hair at the top of his captain's head. He squinted his eyes, gribbing the book tight. It was gren like a plant, but he couldn't really tell. But if it was a plant, then experience told him the only good plants were the Koroks. He had to get rid of it; maybe that would make this better.
So now Link had a couple options; all of which involved jumping and clinging. And both involved him smacking Linebeck over the head-- either with the dusty book or excessively with his fists.
All the while dodging whatever Linebeck threw at him. Fabulous.

He seemed to totter oddly, but he soon charged blindly and seemed to put his hands on the place where he used to have an old scimitar hilt...
no subject
Panic mode. Link pulled his arms back once again and swung. Hard. Gritting his teeth, hoping that since Linebeck was charging like he was, that the books would hit his head.
Brash rationalization that that was how he could get rid of the plant thing.
Is this what he was going to have to do with tetra? Oh goddesses...

Link's whack did not miss, thankfully. It seemed to dislodge the sprout, but it was still firmly stuck.
no subject
So he didn't have a weapon. That was good. But the sprout hadn't moved. That wasn't so good. Whatever. He would do what he can. And dammit his cheek stung now that the bruise was forming from Linebeck's previous punch.
Nevertheless, he reeled his arms back and swung again.
no subject
But Linebeck was not a dumb fool, letting a kid hit him like that. He swung another punch and kicked viciously.
no subject
The double attack came as a complete surprise to Link. His eyes widened as Linebeck's leg swept at him swiftly. He turned to the side so he only lost his balance, tripping over the kick and landing on his bum harshly. The punch hit as well and he let out an exasperated gasp. Recovering a little too slowly and bringing himself back up off the dusty floor, he tched, grimacing, and his eyebrows furrowed angrily. What would Orca say if he saw this now.
He squinted his eyes trying not to think of it and focus on the task at hand. One more hit. One more hit. One more hit.
Link shut his eyes tight and hoped--prayed to the godesses for the best. This wing would do it. He wouldn't see that dazed angry look on Linebecks face again. Hopefully. Please.

It hit. After a few crackles, the spout broke off.
That had an immediate strange effect on Linebeck. He stiffened, and his eye twitched for a second. Then he just...fell facedown. He was knocked out cold.

Until he dropped down onto the floor so he was sitting next to where his teacher and ex-captain had fallen. He was careful to brush the tuft of hair where the sprout was (which he glared at from the corner of his eye in utter disgust) and just sighed. Forget it. Too many things had changed for thi to be anything but awkward when Linebeck woke up.
Link touched his shoulder slightly, not sure if he should wake him up right now or not. Too different.

deadunconsious. GGLINK.))no subject
Link then shoved him roughly in the shoulder. "Wake up you lazy git!" Can't you see I'm worried about you?!
"I can't carry you to the nurse if you're entirely unconcsious."
no subject
"...what in the world...grrrmppph...."
no subject
Well of course he wasn't; that just felt like the right thing to ask.
no subject
"Ow..."
no subject
BAAAAWHUUUGpull Linebeck into a hug."You're such a jerk! I was only asking...!"
He smelled like rum, which made Link's nose wrinkle in distaste. But that was okay. For now anyways.
no subject
but that will all change NOW and LATER (http://algebraicpirate.livejournal.com/5297.html) hurrr. And why the hell was he crying?AJSKDFL;ASJDFKAGSAFFFFFF WHAT.
...
...
OH FUCK. DID I-
He looked at the random sprout thing. Then at Link. Then at the sprout. Then at Link again.
Shit.
"...Sorry kid."
And then he hugged Link back too.
Linebeck probably would regret this later.
