Afternoon of Strength: O Student, Let the Stick Guide You into the Thrill of the Smash!
Who: Max and the Students of his Smash Fundamentals Class
What: Home Run Contest
Where: Outside in the Football Stadium
When: Class Time
Warnings: Baseball bats
Max had set up the Football Stadium out-of-doors so that there was a funny little platform at one end. There was also a baseball bat, and a sandbag. One of those sandbags with eyes that was sort of creepy because it was watching you as you beat it up.
But at any rate, his Smash Fundamentals class was here, and they were going to have a class, and it was going to be great. G-R-E-A-T great.
"Alright!" said Max, his voice booming out over the group of errant youths. "Today's real simple. Today, you got ten seconds to beat up a sandbag as best as you can with basic punches and kicks. I don't care if you breathe fire or crap lighting or got psychic whatevers, that ain't this class. I see you use anything other than a basic punch or kick, I toss you out and you gotta start over again.. If, like, you've got a hand that's always on fire or something and you can't turn it off, let me know. But I'm pretty sure nobody in here has always-on-fire hands. Anyway. You got about 9 seconds to knock the stuffing out of that sandbag, and then hit with the bat. This is practice for basic hits with your hands, and basic hits with a bat. You knock it out of the football field, you get an A+. Any other grades, I'll get figured out once I see how the class did."
Max stepped up to the platform and climbed a short ladder. "Allow me to demonstrate to the class. First thing you do, is punch it." Max punched it with his right fist. It was a punch that reverberated to the very walls of the stadium. God Himself wept. The sand bag was probably bleeding internally. Ruptured sand liver and everything. Max gave it a left hook, then gave it an uppercut, bringing the bag up into the air briefly, then smashed it back to the ground with his mighty left fist. "Then, you take the baseball bat, once you think you've hit it enough," he said, grabbing the bat, and swinging back and then LETTING IT RRRRRRRIIIIIP and smashed the bag off of the little platform and soaring off into the distance. Where did it land? Did it land? Is it still flying through the air? When will it stop? The world may never know.
"And you hit it."
Max put the bat back down next to him on the platform. "Easy. Now, show me what you got, and remember you've only got ten seconds. You take longer than ten seconds, you gotta start over."
He jumped off of the platform with a giant thud. "Get at it!"

Re: ATTENDANCE
Wait. You have to beat up this punching bag with your arms and legs? Nothing about electricity or anything?
...hhhhhhhhhuh. This was going to be harder than she thought it would be.
Re: ATTENDANCE
"Uh. Do you got arms and legs? For basic hits?" he asked, sort of awkwardly.

Re: ATTENDANCE
She hovered over to one of the bats, then gingerly tried to pick it up using her...well, her entire body. It worked just as well as you'd expect. The bat kept on dropping to the ground, rolling this way and that. Finally, she paused, just looking at the thing, not really wanting to accept defeat by all of this.
"...okay, I'll turn into a human for this one," she said quickly.
Re: ATTENDANCE
Man, how do you tell a sunshine how to hit things.
Re: ATTENDANCE
"Okay...um, I'll give it my best shot in this form..." she started, trailing off a bit. "But if I do bad, then it's only because I, um, NEVER fight in my human form!"
Re: ATTENDANCE
Man, little girls made out of sunshines. Max didn't have any idea how to make that one work.
