Chiyo's Time of Bed Rest
Who: Chiyo and hopefully you?
What: Due to a crash collision of her ribs with a tree branch and a stereotypically prejudiced human, Chiyo is in the hospital to treat and recover from her bruised ribs.
Where: FDC General Hospital
When: Roughly April 25th until May 10th [may be changed to end early]
A feeling of surreality washed over Chiyo as she woke up to find herself still humanized and in a bed. Having taken up residence in Lake Kraken instead of her dorm room, Chiyo wasn't accustomed to anything other than sleeping in her original form in a body of water. So the sight of white, simplistic furnishings and sunlight streaming through the window to gently embrace her was all peculiar and mystifying.
"Good morning, Chiyo. How are you feeling?" Chiyo's eyes flitted over to the nurse entering her room and she quietly watched her approach the foot of her bed. After all the hectic events as of late, especially the one that had her admitted to the hospital, Chiyo couldn't help but to feel some discomfort and awkwardness in dealing with humans now. Were they bad? Or were they good? She didn't know.
But that didn't mean she was going to start being rude and impolite by ignoring others.
"Good... good morning," she hesitantly replied in a soft voice lacking confidence. "I'm feeling fine. Thank you for asking."
Actually, it still hurt to breath normally and hurt even more to simply move, but she didn't want to say that. It could come off as a complaint and that was far from what she wanted to do. She looked away from the nurse insecurely, searching with her eyes for something to stare at. In response, the nurse simply smiled and turned to open the curtains and windows, allowing the light breeze of the spring morning to flow in. The breeze caressed Chiyo's cheek and she could feel herself relax. Nature had that affect on her, and she briefly wondered if some of her insecurity stemmed from being confined in an unfamiliar room, especially one lacking in plants and books to adorn it.
She sighed. Being hospitalized wasn't enjoyable and her very many moments of deep thinking only made her feel worse. The pain in particular did nothing to ease her mind but instead attributed to her thoughts of negativity.
"Let's prop you up into a more comfortable position, okay?" the nurse kindly said as she began helping Chiyo readjust herself. "I'll bring you your breakfast shortly."
As was always Chiyo's natural reaction to others, she felt shy and her cheeks adopted a rosy hue. It would take a while to get used to having someone take care of her in bed, but she reasoned with herself that she could've been worse off with a far less fortunate alternative, so she ought to be more appreciative of her circumstances.
"Thank you," she murmured, once situated into a sitting position. Her torso throbbed, but she did her best not to grimace. The nurse nodded and excused herself, but not before mentioning one last thing.
"Oh, and you're open for visitations, Chiyo. Maybe having some friends over will cheer you up."
Chiyo's eyebrows rose at that statement. Friends...? That's right, I have friends. And they can come here, too.... How could I have forgotten? Several faces popped up in her mind and surprisingly, she found herself smiling with a growing sense of giddiness in her chest. Would anyone come to visit her? Glancing at the door, her eyes twinkled with a bit of excitement as she hoped someone would come to see her. Though, it didn't occur to her that someone horrible could come to visit her, too. Not that it was likely, anyway. Right?

I am so late sob.
Seth had it in mind to stop and check up on Chiyo, and he came bearing gifts!
"Hello?" His knuckle rasped softly on the door and pushed it open before she could answer, a small bundle of white flowers in one hand, a small ornately-wrapped box in the other.
"Are you here?"
There was something about how vulnerable she sounded over the network that had him just itching to dig further into the wound. That, and, she was new around here. She wouldn't know any better that Seth's gifts were anything but sweet.
NO WORRIES. You are too cool to be late. Therefore, you are never late.
"Are you... Are you the one I spoke to on the network sometime ago?" She hoped she was right for she'd feel terribly embarrassed if she was wrong.

Didn't want to spook her or anything.
"That's right." He purred. "You remember me. I thought I would just stop by and see how you're doing. I heard about what happened. Do you like sweets?"

He came over to her bedside and placed the flowers on the stand next to her bed. The little box of sweets he held out for her to take and inspect.
"These are trying times but this place doesn't have to be so bad, you know? If you keep your spirits up, you'll heal even faster and get back on your feet even sooner."

"Things do seem to be getting better since I arrived here. I feel like I can certainly keep my spirits up with everyone's support so far. I really do hope that I can heal faster like you said." She looked down at the box with an obvious desire to open it, and then looked back up at him with a hopeful gleam in her eyes, one that was like a child asking her parents if it was okay to open her Christmas presents now.
"Um, could I... open this now? W-Would you mind?" she asked a little shyly.
no subject
"But of course." Seth answered with a smile.
Inside the box were assorted candies, different colors and different shapes, all sectioned off neatly.
"A lot of these are all natural, very beneficial, very healthy. They always make me feel really good when I'm feeling down. I hope you like them."

"These... these all look amazing! Thank you, again!" She began humming, wondering which flavor she wanted to try out first. As the yellow-colored one stood out the most, Chiyo decided to go for that one first. Daintily, she plucked one out of the box and extended the box out to Seth.
"W-Would you... like one?" she offered. Considering that he went out of his way to get them for her, it was obviously good manners to offer one to him before eating them! Though she may be a big, huge lover of sweets, she also loved to share.

And not for any other ulterior motive like, say, getting her hooked and draining her wallet for whatever it was worth, lest she make a loyal minion in exchange for whatever she needed her "fix". Even though he'd made a ridiculous amount of money from the lollipops already, income wasn't rolling in as much as it once was the more people figured out they weren't so benign.
Time to switch it up a little.
Seth's hand reached past the candy she offered and plucked one of the sugar-coated orange slices out of the box, then popped it in his mouth.
"Delicious~"
