If Marie was there, more likely Vinnie would've avoided it altogether, for the Wartortle's sake and his own, and just spent Christmas alone. For that reason, he hadn't really thought of it as a Red family event, just... two brothers and anyone who wanted to join them. Sonny was the most inviting soul he knew, after all.

But maybe some bad blood still lingered, in Voile's mind. He couldn't entirely blame her. Though no one had truly been at fault, he knew from personal experience that such situations only made the sadness all the more frustrating, with no one to rightfully direct it towards.
