The look in Vinnie's eyes lightened, pleasantly surprised by her offer. "I wouldn't mind," he said, and the words came out easily, even if his smile took a bit more effort to muster in the midst of his mood.
But just as quickly, he added, "Sonny wouldn't either. We were thinking 'bout making some food together. Since none've us have trainers around, it might be nice t'spend it with family we made here."
Perhaps in part to all that changed and transpired without his knowledge, Vinnie still regarded Voile as the little sister of Red Team. After all, she was dear not only to himself, but to both Sonny and Marie as well - but that made it all the more difficult for him to move beyond and see her as something more. It might've been a fleeting notion he'd considered ages ago, but the idea never stuck. It felt like too much of a betrayal for him to let himself even entertain it. Marie hated him, and Sonny loved him unconditionally. All the same, in his heart they were both his little brothers, even if Vinnie himself was no longer sure if he could go back and call Red Team home.
