What: Accidental adventures of mystery?! Subspace?! Dumb pictures?!

It was a very sunsettish morning, it could be said, but it could not be said that it was in any way, shape, or form due in part to poor planning by artists. Despite how unusual the sky may have looked, it was still just your average morning at Smash Academy.
Which meant the day was young and there was still plenty that could go wrong.
So our tale begins...
(No, it isn't a tale of shy confessions beneath the cherry blossoms.)
Something was afoot. Or underfoot. The earth was generally not supposed to rend itself open like that, but there it went anyway.
