If you feel like you are being watched today, you probably are.

With a human form privately practiced, being enrolled to take classes and having a dorm of her own for that purpose, today one Edelweiss is taking it upon herself to familiarize herself with Smash Academy's walls and residents more thoroughly than usual. In the past, she had remained in the shadows watching the bunch of weirdos at this place before going back to her Pokeball. But if she was going to be attending it as a student, she would have to know where everything is, what everything is, whatever she could! It's a more effective method to learn, she thought, even though she picked up a decent amount of information just from lurking.

Of course right now she found it more convenient to do so in depth while in her original form.

One might see the Disaster Pokemon in the courtyard, in the student dorm halls, or on the roofs. Probably quite often in tall places, actually. She could see and hear a lot at a time that way.

But no one has come up to talk with her yet! Will you?

Jolt came and sniffed Edel's butt.

Jolt recognized a familiar smell. He knew his team, he knew Red's team, and he knew Blue's team. And so he had some idea what to expect when he sought out the source of the familiar scent, and found the Absol.

"Well, well. Decided to show up at last, huh?" he asked, trotting out to greet her.

Edel expected to be approached eventually. She was making herself known this time, so she knew it was only a matter of time. But it was a familiar face. She recognized it quickly, a Pokemon from Green's team. Naturally, the chances of being spotted by someone from the team of her trainer's friends was there too. She had met the Red and Green Teams briefly on a few occasions, but didn't speak with any of them too often.

At any rate, it's not she was completely averse to conversation. She was being deliberately visible, of course it would happen. And she could handle it.

"Well, I certainly couldn't resist this forever now, could I?" She replied, tilting her head with a small smirk.

Somebody's giantass dog is asleep in a sunbeam in a hallway.

Evve was typically the avoidant type, only observant when she wanted to be because everyone was usually annoying and/or disappointing. Trainers were consistently unknown victims to her scrutiny, but considering she was (willingly) trapped in her human body as of late, they had naturally become less of a concern.

Needless to say that Edelweiss had been overlooked on more than one occasion due to her team status, but now Evve was paying attention. After all, she had only ever seen one Absol in her travels and this one was spiking on the familiarity charts.

"You," she called to her as she was crossing the courtyard. Yeah, that's how you get someone's attention.

Whoa, big dog. Big ol' dog in her path. Why a big ol' dog was sleeping in the middle of the hallway, Edel had no idea. Or she would have no idea if she didn't step around him and recognize the big pup as her own teammate. Sigh, oh my. By now Edel was used to the ridiculous antics of Jock, but even still there needed to be a good reason. Maybe some would take the old phrase "let sleeping dogs lie" literally in this context.

But Edel doesn't know the meaning of that phrase.

So she does the only logical thing and shoves him awake. Get up, you.

Across from the courtyard, Edel heard someone call out. Whether it was to her or not was anyone's guess, but she turned her attention in that direction either way, lest she miss out on an interesting conversation.

As it turned out, there was someone over there looking toward her. A human it looked like. Not one Edel knew, but there was something about that person. She did look human, but she didn't feel human. There was also something vaguely familiar...

But Edel was addressed, and she wouldn't ignore it. It's not like she could easily since she was out in the open like this. She kept her guard up anyway.

"Yes?" She responded, but didn't expect to be understood.

Evve made to approach, speaking as she went. "Are you new?" She couldn't pin it, but this one seemed too familiar to ignore. But Evve was getting right to the point. "I mean have we spoken before now?"

Maybe she did know this person. Edel didn't recognize any person like this before, though. She hadn't interacted with many humans for long enough for anyone to recognize her in particular, but if she was understood this person probably wasn't fully human. Interesting. Clearly it demanded further investigation.

Edel carefully walked over to Evve.

"Hmm. I don't believe so. But perhaps." Once she had a closer view of Evve, she looked up at her face, trying to match a memory with the face. All the while she muttered 'Hmm's to herself. There was indeed something unshakably familiar about this person's presence, but not her face.

Jolt grinned. "All the cool kids are here, apparently. So tell me, how long've you been lurking around here?" he asked curiously, plopping down near her to chat.

Jock just growls at you a "go away," and then covers his eyes with his giantass tail.

No. Not getting up. Nap time.

Evve crouched down and sat on her heels, leveling with Edel if only to get a better look at her. After a moment of locking onto her face, it suddenly hit her all at once.

"Ah. We've met."An Absol, the only one she'd really ever met, that had been chased out of town by a bunch of idiots. What on Earth would she be doing here?

"Do you remember an Eevee named Evve?"

Not really one for being cooped up, Desmond decided it might be in his best interests to keep his skills honed and ensure that he could still scale buildings, so when he got to the rooftops and found some white, fuzzy dog thing had occupied the area before he could, needless to say he was mildly surprised.

Its shape was sharp to the eyes, an impression of danger in its very outline, but he hesitated to back off before seeing if it was actually hostile. After all, this school had an array of creatures hiding within - and without - its walls. Curiosity got the better of him more than caution.

She likely had noticed his approach, the need for silence dismissed when he assumed he had no reason to sneak around, so he continued to move as if she were fully aware of his presence.

"Oh, long enough to learn this place has quite a few weirdos." Edel laughed. Hey, it wasn't like anyone could argue. "But that makes it all the more interesting. And what brings you out here today?"

Oh dear, this is going to take much more than that, isn't it? All right, fine. If you wanted to be that way, Jock, Edel will walk away.

Across the hall, she stopped in her tracks and turned around again. She entered a crouching, preparing herself to pounce, and then rushed forward back to where Jock slept. She gradually picked up speed as she made her way through the hall. Within arm's reach of Jock, Edel leaped into the air above him...!

Then SLAMMED on top of Jock with all her force. It's wake up time, you.

An Eevee... named Evve. Once given a name and species, it clicked immediately.

"Ah, that's right!" Edel remembered now. Long before she joined Blue, she recalled her first encounter with the Evolution Pokemon, Eevee. How could she forget, it was a species not native to her home region, the only place she knew at the time. And one capable of a plethora of different evolutions? So very intriguing! It always was a shame for Edel that she was forced away before she got to ask more, even if she encountered its evolutions later on.

So, this was that Eevee? She must have taken on a human form for this place as well. Before she could ask more, she needed to confirm.

"Might you be Evve?"

It didn't take too much for Edel to be aware of Desmond's presence. Her senses were sharp enough that she could detect someone very quickly. A necessity where she was from. She was already looking in his direction. But...

A human on top of a building like this? Why up here? What reason could a human have to climb up a building? Who was he? How strange. How very curious.

Edel needed to know, her curiosity was piqued, but he was approaching her. If his intent was hostile as it usually is for people, she was guarded and prepared to retaliate or retreat. But she also wanted to know what this guy was doing up here? If she could find out she would. For now, she gave a slight tilt of the head. Her next action will depend on his.

Evve's answer was a warm smile. It was always a surprise to see friends again, even if their time together was brief, and Edel was no different. However this was the first of any she actually met since she was swept into Smash Academy.

"It's good to see you again."

Well, Desmond wasn't about to go running at her like a flock of pigeons in a park or anything but he was light on his feet now, steps thoughtful in his approach. He slowly lifted his hands up to show he meant no harm, giving a guess she may understand the gesture. These animals, or whatever they were around here, appeared to be incredibly intelligent and registered human language, if Connor and his bird were anything to go by.

Trying to keep that in mind, Desmond hoped whatever he would say wouldn't insult her. He just wanted to know what she was.

"Never seen something like you before," he tried, wondering if any of them could actually speak.

Edel was smiling herself. Who would have imagined she would run into Evve again? Of course, seeing a familiar face was always nice. She wouldn't complain. This Academy is already bringing surprises to her, it seems.

"Likewise. How have you been? I never expected to run into you again." She actually meant it in a nicer way. "What brings you to this Academy of all places? I don't suppose you're attending classes as well?"

Okay that woke up Jock, and not in a good way.

Jock jumped up with the Absol on top of him, and used Reversal to toss it off of him, angrily.

He didn't seem hostile at any rate. Edel could come to that conclusion at least from his gesture. Her guard wouldn't be dropped completely, but this at least gave her a somewhat safe opportunity to go ahead and approach Desmond with little repercussion.

If he never saw something like her before, he must have either lived somewhere otuside of Hoenn, or came from a world where there were no Pokemon at all as she heard about before. That made him all the more interesting. She circled around him, examining him from every angle before stopping right in front of him again.

She let out an elongated "Hmm." noise. The questioning tone of her voice could be picked up even through the Poke-speak Desmond would only hear.

WHOA, Whoops, that was to be expected. But you just used Rest, so at full or almost full HP reversal only has 20 BASE POWER HAHA I mean.

Edel flew rapidly through the air, but if she couldn't recover from that, she wouldn't have done it. She shifted her weight backward, doing a single flip that way in the air and regaining control over herself enough that she was able to land with her feet firmly on the ground. Though the force of the fall did push her further back than she intended. She shook her body, brushing off that somewhat awkward slide and responded.

"Well, good morning to you." That's one way you greet someone after landing on them while asleep.

Yes, but you woke him up by using an attack, so his HP was down, and you're a dark type so SUPER EFFECTIVE whoops

Jock realized who it was. Oh, it was Edel. Why did Edel hit him awake? That was dumb. His stance, which had formerly been in attack mode loosened and the snarl on his face, died down into just a sort of grumpy expression.

"Why'd you hit me?" he asked. "I was taking a nap."

Desmond had to stifle a laugh. Here he was being uneasy around this fuzzy monster and it was checking him out.

"Or you've... never seen something like me?" He doubted it, but it was certainly interested in the 360 view. "Guess you got up here on your own, huh?"

The laugh that left her was almost a howl. "Hah! No. I'm on staff here." She lowered her voice and added, "Admittedly I don't really attend to my duties as earnestly as most, but it allows me to get by as a human."

It was almost embarrassing to think that she was trapped in a human body, the ability to change present but disregarded. With an old friend now here, the fear of her secret at the pit of her stomach was an ever-growing boulder. At this rate, her entire insides would turn to stone.

"But I'm well. I'm surprised to see you here. What on Earth bring you to this sad excuse for a school?"
