For as well as Nabooru knew Byrne, especially after their last genuine outing together - well, as out as power failures were going to allow - she still wouldn't have said she knew him well. What she did know was that he was likely thinking. As much as she was, if not more so. Probably more. But then it was unfair to gauge such levels. Each had their own things to consider and work through. And while both knew the other was available if needed, each had their own stubborn fool pride.

Byrne's voice caught her immediate attention and she found herself straightening up. Her head turned to look him over, at least from what she could see and she gave a very real, very genuine smile. As if she felt like a part of her had been complete. They hadn't exactly done anything, but emotionally, she felt like he had begun to fill a hole that she didn't even know existed. It was a nice feeling to have. A glorious one, really. She just didn't want to say as much.

When he remained somewhat away from her, she moved carefully through the water until she could snake her arms around him from behind. "They do feel nice. I'm pleased you decided to join me." And 'pleased' was an understatement. From a purely affectionate standpoint, Nabooru did believe he'd managed to complete her minutely.
