[He zipped along down the hallway, taking note of the space and its occupants, which were mostly scarce considering how the majority of them were inside classrooms. He peeked in through windows, there and gone in an instant once it was registered in his brain that Sonic was not there. He had to linger a little longer at some windows; there were some students who were blue, some with spikes, and some with a visible jewel in their head, so he would have to go through all the criteria given to him in order to determine whether or not they were Sonic.
After checking the last room in the building, he paused in the middle of the hallway; did he need to check the upper floor rooms, or should he go ahead and report back to Shadow? Shadow knew this building way better than he did, so he would know what to do next, he thought... He turned around to face the opposite direction, back toward where he originated.
Suddenly, he sensed the presence of the electronic signal he had picked up before, only it was much, much stronger this time. He looked around him, then up, toward the ceiling.
There was a robot here.
He couldn't see it yet, but he could tell that it was flying, and that it was armed. Both of his original missions forgotten, he took off in the direction of the new signal, headed outside. Whatever this entity was, he was going to find out what it was doing here.]
