Without saying another word, Chili squinted at Cress weakly. It was so bright in the room to him that he couldn't bring himself to open both eyes, so he kept one shut as made sense of the hazy figure that was his brother.

He wanted to tell Cress to turn down the lights, but he couldn't figure out how to articulate that idea. It hadn't struck him that he was in the infirmary at the moment, nor that he'd been injured after a fight. Chili just knew that his body hurt, and his head was throbbing, and the light was way too bright. The good thing was that he seemed to be trying to focus on Cress to the best of his ability, although with some difficulty.
