Rhys happened to be there in the dark hours before midnight and was startled by the bashing on doors that killed the easy silence. He abandoned his idle tasks and shouted a quick, "Coming!" to the person occupying the other end of the door- which, upon opening it, turned out to be no one. Well, no one conscious, anyway.
Seeing the battered lavender cat lying there caused his blood to spike for fear of her condition, and planted all sorts of questions in his mind as to how in the world she could have knocked in her position. "Oh dear! What happened to you?" Could she have collapsed the second after? How she managed anything didn't matter so much at that point. All Rhys was truly concerned with was ensuring that her status was not beyond critical. First things first, he leaned down to her level and asked if she was all there.
"Can you hear me?" A hand barely ghosted over her shoulder. He didn't want to hurt her any more.
